i agree the e500 is one of the best.. i own a 1991 190e and i love it so much after 300,000 and 20 years it still peels rubber and gets 25mpg i drove a 450slc 1973 the other day and i think i fell in love with it too.. i think the 70's is when benz was pushing quality that is even unmatched today.. and will NEVER be matched again since todays standards are lower. I recommend every benz lover to drive a 1973 450slc and tell me how smooth it rides..
@stoffmatt It's the ultimate sleeper. An "80's Mercedes" which still smokes most fast cars today. That 5,0 litre V8 is one of the best engines Mercedes has ever made. I think the W124 still looks modern today, 25 years later.

i eat my words. my bad guys, i now know what you mean now. Saw a brand new E-class get smoked by this older model always at turns (straights are a diff story tho). It was 7 months ago but this video came to mind and i just wanted to apologize.
you know, id much rather have an old 500e because the new ones kill the throttle when you are racing as hard as you possibly can through a curve. id rather my throttle control be in my foot.
