as a survival horror game enjoyer adc is particularly brutal lol
It's the fun part 🤣
Honestly collecting free wins for baiting aggression is really easy, idk why people are stuck below diamond apart from time commitment.
@@blueicer101league is one of the most complicated games especially when your new you look like a bot
As ADC's, our whole thing is auto attacks. Yes we have buttons. Yes we have abilities that scale with AD, but our whole concept is that we do damage with auto attacks. (couple of exceptions like MF where the ult is actually more of a fight winning spell)
Abilities with any sort of CC or damage based scaling (ie mages) will always beat an ADC in a 1v1. Usually a solo laner is ahead in xp too. The whole point of this 1-1-2-J setup is that you get protected and farmed because you have a SUPPORT. So that you're terribly weak in the early game and become more of a monster late, where just a couple of right clicks can really hurt. Glass cannon etc. Your role then becomes the damage turret for the team when they need to take an obj whatever. So ADC never has had, or will ever have strong agency, you are entirely team reliant. If your team misses their spells, you cant do your damage. If the enemy hasn't cast their spells yet, you cant do your damage, you have to wait for their abilities to be on cooldown.
Your EARLY game is support dependant. If you're shit, lane loses automatically. If youre good and the support is garbage, the best you can do is leave lane with 0 deaths and probably lower cs.
I've typed all of this mainly for my own benefit, because I suck at the game and keep forgetting this.
DNI is the way to go, and thank you for articulating this concept Saber, its just the best teaching you can get for ADC in a broad platform like youtube. Your personal learnings and challenges with this role makes it far easier to connect with the concepts than pretty much everything out there. Gonna go buy some subs now, legend.
Haha so wrong about MF mate, bronze mindset to think MF is about her ult. High elo just steps out. It’s about her passive and W to hit like a truck.
@@facts3221yes, but if you're in range to poke with q you're most probably in range to get killed by literally anything outside the other ADC
Let's not forget that all that it's true while also being the most mechanically dependent role, so even if your team does their part it's still hard to do your job lmao
Love the write-up, sadly ADC DID actually have a lot of agency until about S5 where it began degrading year over year, but I certainly think you're correct to state that it never will have agency going forward. May we all keep this video and your writeup in mind in our upcoming games
You're right. Some lanes if you can leave with 0 deaths and just hard farm ignoring all the bs your team wants you to come to, you can farm your way back into the game and being strong.
Unbelievable, I did this, last week I dropped from G1 to G4 because I tried to carry. Changed up, just poked, played safe get to scaling and now back up again with a 74% win-rate. This is great advice.
I would like to know if it is not just the common win streak/loss streak cycle
@ no it wasn’t. I tried to force things and carry etc. Just got downwards after G2/G3.
In bronze & silver it isn’t the case. On my second account I can hard carry. Way less organized play so you won’t get punished as much for initiative.
"... waste their time while your jungle does an objective or kills a solo laner."
low elo players like me: "your junglers do objectives and cross-map plays?!"
As a fellow low-elo player, the answer is yes. They'll "cross-map" even when they're the side with less teammates, so all you have to do is ping forwards on the objective when you bait them in. He's missing the most important step of COMMUNICATION, which you should always do, every game. He's just in D+ lobbies, so the JNG/MID/TOP know to pressure.
Ping them. Like with that sejuani gank in the video ping once karthus and spam ping enemy blue. You can micro manage your jungler with pings if you have some basics in jungle logic. Also works for your team you can call the plays coming mid/late game.
@@cloudwalker9572 guys... I've tried that. The moment I ping or dare to verbally(chat) suggest to go for an objective, I get flamed and/or will have an inting jungler in my game. What tf game are you playing where people aren't absolute maniacs 95% of the time?!
Even if he does 1 camp into base he's still doing something good
I am climbing from silver way to emerald here. In low elo, they might not gank or crossmap, but they can always afk farm and come out srronger than the enemy jungler wasting time ganking you.
Finally, my 10 years of playing Sona can transition into ADC fundamentals
Thank you, Saber. Also a Caitlyn main here, and I noticed that playing safe (aka DNI) during the early and mid games work really well for me. Unfortunately, supports who don't get this would often flame me for being so slow. Sometimes I wondered if it was my skill issue, or this is how ADCs work, but now I know, so thanks for this video!
I used to main ADC like 6-7 years ago, and I figured out the same basic idea, though I expressed the concept differently. You aren't really a full champion until literally 3 items+ as ADC. So your goal is to get there as fast as possible, as *reliably* as possible. So the gold rule for "do I move to this fight/situation?" is only when both of the following are true:
1) Something important is at stake (e.g. objective/tower).
2) Our presence there is *likely* to change the outcome in our favor.
If *either of these* is untrue, you don't move to the fight, just farm and be sure to not get caught out while doing so.
I love the strategies you come up with throughout the seasons haha.
Don't touch turrets was a few seasons ago, don't touch opponents is this season.
I'm looking forward to the season we get to play like psychopaths
Next season it's gonna be don't touch the keyboard.
I mean it's don't touch opponents cuz like he said 1/5 Wukongs still beats you even if you're ahead in both items and levels. Especially if you play an immobile ADC without selfpeel
There's always jungle nunu when you're ready
oh its not this season to play like psychopath? damn, have to change playstyle.
Saddest strategy to win 😂 don't play the game for 20 minutes, get to 3 items ( which in the video it shows still a 1/5 wukong with 1 item kills you), and hope by that time other 4 players on your team are humans and the game is not over 😅 just play other roles or mages bot instead of this masochistic marksman role
I would like to do so, but ppl in bronze/silver don't know how awfully weak this role is so every time I pick a mage they insta complaint and troll
@@happyspacefun3796if youre in bronze/silver you can carry regardless of what happens
@@obvioustrash7833no yo cant, you need special champs. You need to either get a tanky/easy champ or be a god at a high damage champ. You can’t 1v9 with ashe, you can 1v9 with aphelios if you play him perfectly, or you can 1v9 with nilah if you play her decent enough
@@sergioq123 brother, you def can. Ive won 4v5s in that elo. Ashe in particular is good, because it gives you agency. People are perma positioning like idiots and you just send an ashe r and catch them
@@obvioustrash7833 wining 1 game doesn’t mean hard carrying 1v9 every single game, which is what you need to get out of that elo
Went 4-1 today as ADC using DNI strategy, best league education video ever.
This actually makes a lot of sense. Skill Capped has a series on this about playing Sivir and focusing more on just pushing, getting every minion and ignoring fights until later on. It was how I finally got out of gold. Kind of got away from it, so it's good to see your video. As an ADC you just can't compete until you make up for the levels and often items you're down compared to everyone else.
I love doing this against Dravens.
I will sit over here, spamming laugh, last hitting, and refusing to engage with the dude who's all about early game fighting.
DNI is EXACTLY how im winning as smolder currently xd. EVEN ON LANE. adc playstyle is like AP shaco right now. you just annoy them, but you dont really fight unless its TURBOFREE and UN-INTABLE
I was doing this before you released this video. I got to silver 1 (I don't play much) then sank to silver 4 and couldn't figure why I'd gone on an insane loss streak. Then this video made me realise I had stopped doing this. Winning again now, so thanks.
Bro your enthusiasm as you narrate caused me to hit like and subscribe. Keep it up loved the information and the content. Very informative.
Funnily enough I feel like the game has been trending to this for a long time... I hit diamond for the first time 2 splits ago and ended up burning out but this is really good advice to climb
As a mid, adc, jungle player myself I understand the impact of the other roles and well, if you do nothing but farm in all of the roles, you win games. Of course your champion must scale but the general idea is all adc's tend to scale well with crit items. eg. crit stats multiply with attack speed stats that multiply with attack damage. Therefore crit builds are most effective when you have around 75% crit or 3 items, lots of ad and some attack speed.
Thanks for sharing basics
This is so painful to hear. Its so hard being a ADC these days
It seems like the easiest strategy. What’s hard about not interacting to win?
@@googloocraft12”dont play win the game” is aids for anyone with self respect in their game
That has always been how the role plays. ADC is weaker than any other role for the most part of the game and then they scale into a monster late game, that's literally why they have a whole other player dedicated to babysit them through the early game.
adcs too focused on gosu montages. Just get gold and win late.
Practice this in wild rift. I'm almost emerald.
I've definitely struggled to adjust to the new season as well and 100% this strat is the way to go I'm finding. When you're strong enough (usually 2 items or so) you can also poach raptors and wolves between waves for extra gold/exp if there's nothing else to do or join. Obviously don't steal them from your jungler, but if they aren't gonna be farmed soon, grab em. Also, if your solo laner refuses to leave mid for you to push, you can apply these principals to a side lane as well but you have to be even more careful and aware since side lanes will not offer nearly as much safety as sitting mid.
amazing. I feel like i was on to a lot of this but this really filled in the pieces i needed to fully understand.
I've been struggling lately too. This video comes as a saving grace. Thank you so much for putting your time into making it, Saber!
As an ADC main I feel Sabers pain when he says that you need to DNI. Now we have to become our biggest enemies, and that is.... afk farming JG basically. Great video, hope it will help me in my d4 elo.
Dopa said this in like season 9. "All adcs can carry, but they are dumb, they dont have the patience to wait till their third item".
Cool Saber learned how to play like control mage in season 13 😂
So, I agree that this is the right way to play. My problem is that I'm in an elo where it doesn't matter. In bot I get ahead in about 70% of games. I get to 3 items pretty often, 7-8cs/m at least. Either someone on enemy team is so fed any lead I have doesn't matter, or I can't trust the team to help me (either draft gap or let adc carry gap). Teammates throw themselves at enemy trying to make plays while I can't approach fights because my peel is diving or mispositioned. I have better KDA and cs than enemy most games, but the ones I'm winning are the games where I'm behind in cs, or the ones where I'm in the fights and everything else that would make sense with DNI suffers. I could do better with summs and map awareness, but in the end I feel like I have to do the opposite of what is actually correct.
I love the “round out the end of the video” as we are 4 min in on a 20 min video lol
great video Saber, so useful, hope can reach diamond watching and learning from u
Saber you are finally coming back i'm so glad you unrusted after that tilt brake for tft
What do you do in low elo when your whole team wants to sit mid the whole game and compete for the wave?
Gotta go bot, waste the enemy's time whenever possible, put down correct vision so that you can recall/walk under turret when you see them
9:31 Sejuani played like a natural pig. Jumped forward when she no longer had ult, caught Senna's W, sat in the trap ate a headshot and... survived. And the enemy ADC Who tried to support her initiation died for her mistakes. Classic.
I wonder how your damage recap is at the end of those games, because I used to play with this pattern to climb and my damages were always super low until I reached 3 items and fought and my damage total would explode. Like games under 3 items I would barely deal 10k damage and 3+ items I would get 30k+.
I'm asking because I always had a low damage overall compared to other players in my rank and I think it's linked to this "passiv" style when it is in my opinion the optimal style for adc.
this is my experience as well, it makes sense because as adc you do the least damage in the first 20 minutes of the game (including support)
i tried this and it works good stuff man
Sounds good, but what do you do if your team just arams mid? Do you just farm side lanes and pray you don't get flanked or TP'ed on?
I farm sides but never go past the middle of the map. Never go into their side as a adc.
midgame you should already be mid unless laning phase was brutal, then youre pretty much stuck econ maxxing in any lane to get whatever gold you can. if you see them araming mid, then you mostly have to make sure youre not in a position where they can gank you, example, theres no reason to be near their tower when yours is already down and only three enemies are visible on the map. press tab to check how many have tp and could potentially jump on you. with that said there is also no reason to be bot if the wave is pushed into them so you should be mid waiting out any abilities that can end you. feel free to correct me if youre higher than silver/gold
@@MHawkeye you should be mid if your team let's you. But if your team wants to aram mid and a midlaner refuses to leave and steals all mid cs I think it's better to catch the waves in the side lanes. Hate seeing minions die with no one there catching them. I hope it gets better after plat.
@@fluffow2675
i dont really see where we are disagreeing
You don't "pray", you watch the map.
If you know where the enemies are you know whether or not you're safe to take waves and turrets, if you don't know where they are you assume they're on the way to kill you and you position yourself as far back towards your own base as you need to be in order to not get caught but no further than that, so you can immediately go back to pushing the second you know where the enemies are.
Good video, some times we how ADC we think that must to be in alls team fight, or help us JG, but we need to focus in get a lot money, and you have reason because we lost focus when we go the tf. And a ADC with 200 minions a little kills is stronger than ADC with minor minions some more kills. Thanks for you video.
crazy that im getting this coaching sesh for free lol thank you saber
Love the video, great reset for all of us moving into the new season that seems to incentivize interaction. I think this strategy for Caitlyn is pretty much no exceptions to the strat but I'm wondering your thoughts on other champions who are more mobile or able to follow up from further away than Cait, like Jhin, Kaisa, or Zeri for example.
Hey, Saber. So just to be sure I know I'm not inting:
If team starts fight without me and I'm near a wave + turret, it's better to play for turrets than joining a late fight?
By the way without realising I have been using this technique. Especially with jhin where you can w on an interaction and move on. Also having 4 auto attacks forces you to move back and forward perfectly in sync. Ult feels good aswell.
This is the video about adc concept that proofs it is not able to function in game, can't do anything on it's own, can't 1v1, class was just removed like a champion they can't balance (hello to Zeri mains). What we really need is the video like "Why Phreak is still there?".
I wish there were a video like this, but focused on jungle
" I start doing damage when the game is over" : ADC life in a nutshell
Very interesting, but I suppose that for low mobility champions like Ashe and MF applying the concept would be harder than as Cait, Vayne or Kai'sa right?
Im gonna go give this a try, ty 😉
Do you build LDR/Mortal second? Do you only second item IE with 5 squishies?
swifties too. I build as boots :O
just tried this and im now on a 9 game win streak on jhin
What do you do versus a zyra? I try to DNI but they were poking us so much we were at a quarter of health and stuck under our turret. Then the zyra used her ultimate along with misfortune and killed us under turret. I have no idea what the counterplay is there. I was tristana and I had Mao support.
Can we get an update on this after the ADC items buff from patch 2 of the season?
Would be nice to know if there's more carry potential.
What should i do when my support roams to voids and enemy supp does not. I either get dove and loose farm or I afk and loose farm. Should I also roam? And when im hard winning botlane and my support decides to roam because he is bored, should i also roam ? Or should i try to farm as much as i can while getting dove?
so basically just chovy all over the place?
I use this exact strat for the top!
You are a split pusher aren't you? You might even have tryndamere or yorick in your champion pull. 😂 Good for you honestly it's the best way to have agency as a top laner.
Thank you. so used to snowballing with kills what has phreak done :(
"No glorious valhalla waiting for you when you die in battle" Ragnar Lotbotrk
Isn't it int at 15:12 to hit mid tower cause you don't know where Camille is? You can't outplay her with flash right?
Would love to see you talk strategy for ADC in 5s, does it change this DNI strategy a lot?
Forgive my question, im not familiar with playing ADC.
This makes a lot of sense with how I've traditionally heard ADC played, and this is a good video for that. How has the ADC role changed to make this the best strategy, or something that was unknown? I know that ADC has become weaker, but what changed in your gameplay that youbwere doing incorrectly? I thought ADC was always meant to play like this. Thanks!
The last “durability patch” was bad for ADC. Not only did it not attain the goal that Riot stated (slow the game down and have fights last longer), it negatively impacted ADCs damage scaling (they nerfed item damage). Items already have checks in place in the form of gold/time, the real problem is power creep in the form of base ability damage and mobility.
The changes to Rageblade and Lethal Tempo were also net negatives (especially tempo). They use to allow characters whose damage was tied to auto attacks to break the attack speed limit. This allowed auto attackers to still build what they wanted and have it function more like burst. And league is all burst
Fight break out on top? what do I do? I get the wave!
Big fight breaks out at dragon? what do I do? I get the wave!
World war three? You guessed it! I get the wave!
For all those in low elo like me as ad, the DNI strat does work. But you need to macro properly imo. For instance, whether or not you win, lose or go even. No matter if you get a tower or not, by 15 mins lane is over, you should go mid and just pressure that lane so you can respond to the random teamfights happening on either sides of the map and hope for a positive outcome, you can also DNI and just farm waves for priority and simply wait for a response. I tried to do it solely on my own by splitting as an ad, but too many times have i experienced games if had done what I just preached by just shifting to mid lane and not being so stubborn, my w/l record wouldnt look so ugly. I do agree that it will take more than yourself to be competent but by actually putting the soloist mindset aside and helping out in the fights unsure game states could turn into game winning shifts into a victory.
Wait is it raining on your summoners rift? Is this a map skin or something??
What do I do if everyone is ARAMing and my team consistently takes mid wave
in my elo everyone randomly groups mid and it just becomes an aram with a couple dragon breaks. i have to ping like a madman to back off and ask someone to please side lane youre taking exp
Here’s what I learned. Because Riot doesn’t cares about ADC, ADC should only cares about the team when the situation is only favorable for ADC
as a Jinx main I’ve honestly been doing this strat, however the part ive been struggling with mostly is just laning phase and just losing it/dying. any advice for that? (is all i can do is just get better?)
As jinx you have to play around your support you really dont have a choice, try to poke as much as possible with q rockets and w. Its all about spacing early and not taking free damage
i just played a cait game and tried this strat! i got my items but my supp kept running mid while lulu twitch alieve and died 12 times very nice, in the end he died 12 times and i got 4 reports xd
What if they aram on mid in the whole game? And takeing the waves
Does this DNI strat work in low elo too? What do you think?
I was in Emerald as ADC (w Vayne&Kai'sa) and atm I'm sitting in Gold4 with
Does DNI also apply to enemy bot lane or should I try to fight them? Is it worth trading HP or just better to always be full HP?
He specifically said DNI with the enemy top/jg/mid. You can fight bot, but you DNI the other 3 roles because you should know you are at disadvantage by default
@@misterbxiv But he also said not to burn summoners on enemy bot. So this would mean I should not try to kill enemy bot if trying to do so would lead me to burning sums because killing is not guaranteed
Trading hp is not worth mid/late game you need every single hp at that point. If you get damage for free sure do, otherwise you are forced to back because you are already a dead man walking.
@@VeiennIf you can kill them go for it, but not at the cost of giving jg a double kill for example
You destroyed my Manowar mentally by saying there is no glorious Vahala waiting 4 you by dieing in battle 😂😭
So i've done this so called DNI strat, and gone 3/0+ in lane 11 games straight now, but it doesn't seem like i'm winning any games since i'm on an 11 game loss streak. Sure this DNI is good in theory, but when your top jg mid runs it. doing DNI becomes near impossible win strat no? you need atleast 1 other human being to carry those games
Well if 3 out of 4 lanes (counting JG) "run it" it should make sense that you lose
In theory at least one of them should win because you're "distracting" their jungler. So yours can gank your solos. But then again, has there ever been a strategy that consistently work in low elo? It's just clusterfuck chaos until you're around emerald depending on the server.
I'm a 5+ years support main and I managed to reach diamond for the first time in my life by learning Vel'koz and playing mid until Plat1/Emerald4 AND THEN going back to support.
exactly. low elo if you're mechanically better u can fight fight fight and still win
@janniksamsing8350
people would need to review your games and while you might say youre doing the same, there are players who completely disengage and leave everything up to their teammates. so there is medium that has to be achevied.
I actually think a DNI strategy when teammates are feeding is more likely to lose you the game. If you see someone feeding, I think you actually have to abandon the DNI strategy and do the complete opposite... Force fight any chance you can vs your not opponent in hopes you can win and become impactful. Think of it like this, if you DNI by the time you get 2 items the enemy will have 4-5 since your teammates are feeding. At this point your chances of a loss are probably like 95%. If you can identify an inting team and try to force fights, the worst that can happen is you int your lane too and a 95% chance to lose turns into 99.99%. However if you force a fight, win it and get 1-2 kills and keep doing this, your 95% chance to lose suddenly because 70, then maybe 60 etc etc. DNI is great with teammates who play slow reasonable but I assure you DNI is the worst strategy that exists in low elo where teammates fight constantly. I actually used to play DNI naturally, but I started implementing a "fight at every chance I get no matter what strategy" and I actually boosted my win % by like 13% over a span of 70 games. I average 10 deaths a game and have horrible KDAs but basically by trading 1 for 1s I'm coming ahead and since I'm better mechanically at a certain point my jinx is out scaling just about everyone and gets me a free win. Like if I'm 10-13 but I get 6 items on jinx kda doesn't matter and I'm winning when enemy adc is 3-1 and has 3 items.
Problem is that when im getting 5 man dove in the botlane, my jungler will not do the atakhan because he has to clear his raptors and recall for tier 2 boots!
Fuck atakhan, that mf is ungodly tanky and unreasonably strong, I ain't touching that thing without an ADC or something like a Cass
I’m applying this DNI to Udyr jungle
wait. this is intuitively how i play adc too! i just feel like we are a minion! and we must push waves smartly! barely made to fight, except when you can get a good position in a fight, and it's a good fight to have to begin with
What happens if your teammates flame you for being non interactive?
nothing happens. you mute them and continue trying to win the game
That is why you play with party chat only
You split plush and report them after game
/muteall
DNI
DNI is my default strategy on kogmaw. I literally play for two items so i can then start taking all JG camps. Im pretty sure ive won atleast 90 percent of my games on kogmaw when i have atleast 3-4 items. When you have the gold and xp to teamfight, you really start seeing how bad people in low elo position, because you never get these angles in higher elo.
2:12 only the IDEA of diving this shows how the league community is completely aware of the bad state adc is in, still subconsciously call the role broken, the players crybabys when they only have the idea to say something against it and happily accept that the whole role is dying atm.
Wouldn't a hyper scaler like Jinx be better for this playstyle?
Don't interact with the opponent until you have Yun Tal, IE and Runaans.
Hi Saber , can you find a game with the DNI strategy with losing lanes ? I mean your top and mid being gap.
Eidt : cosmic Insight is better ihmo for this strategy.
What's it like having a top/mid/jg that does objectives and that don't feed? That'd be a miracle.
yo i love the hair saber
The problem is that if you can be the best bait ever by not interacting/dying with their solo laners, but your solo laners don't really capitalize on it by getting tower/objectives/waves/crossmapping. This is why this role is so bad below ultra high elo.
How long ago did he drop the Chicken Little tag? Felt like that was a keepsake for Saber.
As an aram player, this feels very familiar. I think of hp like a battery
So don’t play the game to win the game. So funny the role has come to this. And if you lose you didn’t play the game and you also lost. Why is league even on our pc?
When the season just started, my win rate was 45%. I just got it to 51% smh. Been finding success just handshaking waves with enemy adc
ok youre obviously better than me bro dont get me wrong but lookiing at the fight against camille 16:30 if she had ult Im pretty certain you wouldve died? So did you know she didnt have ult?
Tried this and it works
Sivir is master class champ for this xD
correct, but if you can't lane you gg lose

Can DNI Strat he used by a Samira main?
so doesnt that mean adcs who build ionian boots and take cosmic insight are op cuz their summs are up more often?
this strategy can be used by any adc? with samira and nilah too? they're my mains!
ah yes the value game. adcs will always insta die to anything so if you bring someone to a creep wave that means enemy adc is at an objective (and therefore dying) so your team just wins
The issue here is when the enemy jg is chasing you, you cant guarantee your jg even does anything. Low elo issues though
This DNI strat is not a strat just for this season, this was the strat since adc got gutted lmao
If that's the strategy, wouldn't xayah be good?
What about an adc like Lucian
Nothing new under the sun.
Tbf, i wanna try, but i've lost my last 5 games as ace of the team to my solos going 2/10 and losing to random splitpush 1/5 yone winning the game so i'm not sure this changes anything ^^' yone with 300 cs afk sidelaning taking your entire base and being lvl 18 at 25 minutes while your own toplaner is nowhere to be seen has no counterplay, sadly.
now what if the top jungler mid do dni wat happens then
just dont outplay. begin every fight by running for about 10 full seconds. This is how I win
