I've met people who are still obsessed with highschool, even a teacher that was in her 50's. Because highschool times were the highlight of their life where they were that popular kid and they were the centre of attention and felt important and as soon as they graduate and step into the real world they realise they're not the centre of attention anymore and they're not really that special.
