Singing(and what sounds are beautiful to each person) is not a one size fits all. 1. He may not like your voice(others may like it) 2. Even if your singing technique isn’t perfect you can work on it. 3. Maybe your pitch was off, which also can be worked on... 4. Most singers go through stages In their life.... and there is bad and good days... so maybe it was just a bad day. 5. Criticisms (if it is constructive) is a good thing, because it gives us something to work with and it is much better than someone Lyon to our face about how great they think we are... If you love singing just keep going. :)
Sorry to be off topic but does anybody know of a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost my password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
Wonderful Kristen. Thank you so much. I managed that well, so onward and upward! I love the breathing instructions, with the counting on exhalation getting longer each time - that was super!
Yay! That's great!! I moved all my singing videos to a brand new channel and there are plenty for singing high notes: th-cam.com/channels/xF3WovOVpqnf2XOQQlH_pg.html
Many thanks. Day one.... I am a classical crossover singer at a late age (started very late), and want to keep my very high notes healthy and make them more beautiful.
I am a 75 year old singer, and many Soprano notes in an SATB score are a high 'g' or 'a'. I struggle getting these notes................sometimes yes, sometimes no.... or they sound ugly to my ear. I am hoping this will help make these easier. I usually sing 2nd Soprano, but the occasional score want all Sopranos' to be lilting in the 'nether world'.
That's a great one! When I did that role my teacher had me practice all the runs down the octave until they were perfect and then try them in their regular key at a slow tempo until I felt comfortable doing them at regular speed
I love the coloratura warm up, which has helped me a lot. Still developing it but I work hard with it (the only way!) and I am feeling so comfortable with it these days. I can sing Mein Herr Marquis with ease but am looking for more such songs but cannot find suitable ones. I am trying Queen of the Night next. Secondly, the warm up here now comes as second nature. I think I must be Critothyroid dominant because if my voice SHOULD have a slight break, it is always in lower notes. The higher I sing the more comfortable I am. Thank you for these lessons Kristen!
I’m a fully trained natural high soprano I’m playing Christine in phantom of the opera concert at my new I had Recorded a vocal warm up on my phone so before i got on stage I do the vocal warm up
How ironic that you're playing Christine - here is the warm up on my new music page that is inspired by that role: th-cam.com/video/CvlNtM29BOY/w-d-xo.html
I don't know I find A5 relatively easy but then B5 is just little slamming against a wall, almost impossible and always wants to throw me into whistle register. Any advice for stopping such a transition occurring?
i am male and i can reach G5 easily but A5 is just suffering i just want to know if it is possible for me to go even higher because i feel like i can touch A5 and higher ?
Hey! Quick question. Are you allowed to go to falsetto ( I’m sorry I don’t know the actual name for it) when doing the slides? I’m a mezzo- soprano and can’t reach the notes thanks ❤️

I'm so glad!!! Seriously, do this as much as possible and your vocal folds will make singing high notes easier! :)

I'm a soprano and I been singing for 10 years and your videos have helped me alot thank you!!! More videos like this please !!!!
What it has helped to improve is by recording myself when I sing so I can learn what I san wrong and how to improve it.
This reminds me of my old singing lessons
That's great!! Think of these as free voice lessons you can access whenever you want! :)
This is so great ! I can already tell I can hit the high notes more easily and it’s only my second day.

Yes, practice your breath support before going into your high register! Try this: th-cam.com/video/GjK0eCgpqdg/w-d-xo.html
@@KristensClassroom Thanks I'll try using those excersizes starting today!
Is it ok to try this if I don't know my singing range
Yes it's totally ok to try - if you continue practicing these warm ups, your high notes should get easier to sing
