Doing a chess set is a really fun idea! If I could make a suggestion though... I found your tutorial a little fast - particularly if one is trying to follow along in FreeCad at the same time. I would recommend slowing down just a little bit, as well as being careful to mention specifically which dimension you are constraining. A few times I was looking at my work screen and I missed whether you were dimensioning something horizontally or vertically, or what tool you were using. Other than that - great tutorial!
Another really good tutorial there for beginners trying to get to grips with FreeCAD. Thank you for posting, I'm glad I subscribed. I wondered what the Groove command was about. Now I know :-) A suggestion for improving, since you asked; could you give a little more explanation before you do each next task as to what you're going to do and why. As a completely separate question and as I'm a Fusion360 refugee .... Is it possible to offset lines/curves in FreeCAD?
Thank you for the support Kelvin! I would've liked to add lines coming down at intervals to give more 'brick' detail, but I couldn't find any easy way of doing that! 😅 I can indeed give some more explanation, I'll try to incorporate that into the next video! I believe you can in the 'draft' workbench, but I'll do a little research and get back to you 😊
@@AndrewCAD I wondered about that too. Create a zig zag and pattern it around the tower with project to surface? Trouble is how to do that and which workbench if it's there? By the way you were right about offset lines/curves, it's in the Part Workbench as opposed to Part Design Workbench :-) Something more I learnt from your video contribution. Thank you! What about a future video on Lofts?.... That's been a nightmare for me to figure out how that works....
@@kelvink8955 I'm glad you managed to sort that out, if theres any other things you'd like to see that you'd normally be able to do in Fusion, then I'm all ears! In the next video with the knight chess piece, I create a loft to create a transition between two different shapes. So hopefully that might help you 😁
Hey frequency! I can't be 100% certain without seeing the sketch, but perhaps theres a negative constraint somewhere rather than a positive? Or its constrained to another line and when you dimension it, it throws up an error?

Ye im new and find it hard to hear him when he says the constraints to fast but i finally did so now im all good😅
Just stumbled onto this channel. Really well done, thanks for the detailed tutorials.
You're more than welcome Juan! Thank you for watching! 😁
Great job. Thank you as always.

Hi
How did you render the model for thumbnail
Hey ROTREX, I just exported the model into Blender and rendered the image 😊
@@AndrewCAD Okay thanks
@@AndrewCAD Could you do a tutorial on that,i know its a CAD channel but it would be very helpful :D
How come when I constraint something, the whole shape changes and the sketch goes funky, doesn't look like yours.
i have to constraint much more then u do in the video... Im not sure why
and when i constraint it, it says revolve axis intersects the sketch, i have no idea what to do

DMS to buy you a proper mic i cant hear anything on your videos...
