Is the golf course still across the street? I remember as teens we always tried to hit the planes taking off when we were at the driving range. We never got close as the planes just LOOKED low. But it was fun.

Used to drive past VAN Nuys AP almost daily. Heading down Roscoe to the 405, from West Hills/Canoga Part. Very busy and that was 30 years ago.....

Yes, the Woodley golf course. Depending on the plane, almost at traffic pattern altitude by the time one is over it.
