@@bykchoi I would definitely give it a listen if you make one. I think a lot of young professionals / college students are interested in interviews with other professionals in their careers (diff industries), how they got started, career advice, how to prep for interviews, resume advice and the like! I think financial management tips are also really useful -- I guess similar to this video and other content you make but because it's a podcast, it can go for a lot longer, have more content & be more informative in a way. Other topics that are interesting could be networking tips, project mgt / time mgt tips, and the like! I'm a college senior btw! :)
So great to see TH-cam videos highlighting on the consulting careers! Wish I had these back in college. First then big 3, and then the big 4! Have you considered interviewing a consultant from Accenture? I’m a tech consultant at Accenture, and I also have a TH-cam channel focusing on technology consulting as well! So glad to see other consultants on TH-cam and showing people how fruitful this career is! We need more on TH-cam! ❤️ I follow both you and Steph & Den!
Great video! I really agree with what your friend said at 14:06, people create this illusion of what working for these companies are like and it’s can be a letdown. I live in an area where Big 4 is huge and everyone wants to work there. After being exposed to that world for over a year it really isn’t all that great to be in. This is just my personal opinion .Big 4 experience will be different for everyone.
Agree. Lots of young people go there fresh out of school with no real experience to offer as a consultant. It'll take years to cultivate and work your way up. Honestly it's probably better to work for a consulting firm when you have some actual work experience and understand the day-to-day challenges of the business world. Big picture is great but the politics and nuances are something you learn in a workplace.
CornishPasty exactly, especially having to adjust to the complicated timesheets that are used to log hours. Not to mention the stress of possibly not having a client and being benched for a period of time. The worst part is having a SM or Manager that do not teach you how things work for the tasks you’re given.
Banking wasn't for me either Den! Awesome video and interesting to learn more about your role as a CPA consultant in terms of looking at the finance function! Not a lot of info on the web about this and think this was fantastic!
Hi, Kristina! I love all your videos which are so helpful for those who are looking for a career in consulting. Recently, I'm struggling with Consulting Resume. Are there any tips for it? I'd be happy if you could share some advice in the next video.
Hey Laline! I'm sure Kristina will share some great tips as well, but in the meantime we do have a video on our channel all about how to tailor your resume for consulting positions! Feel free to check it out. 😊
Hey! Do you need to graduate from the target schools or is a college education accepted. I'm asking because the course that I've taken is health information management. It focuses in informatics business and anatomy. I was hoping that this would have me stand out.
I stumbled on your page while I’m currently working on my capstone for starting a consulting firm. I would really love some of your feedback on that if you have the time! Or point me to the right videos or articles if you have already touched on that :) thank you!
what are both you and den's linkedin profiles? i would love to connect with you guys! im a fresh graduate and feel so overwhelmed with job hunting that idk where to begin and prepare. i do know that i wish to work at a consulting company :)
Hello, I am from India and am pursuing my management studies here. I am not having great grades in my schooling and have decent grades in my undergrad. I am pursuing MBA from a tier 1 B school here. I have prior work ex in Marketing and also as a consultant with reputed firms. I also am having international recognition as my extra circulars. Looking at my profile would bad grades affect my chances to get recruited by the Big4 consulting firms?
K Hello, I’m on my heading senior year of college but I have really just focused on my academic career instead of finding work so my indeed account and resume have little development .. do you have any advice... I’m also looking for a mentor, I have no lack of interest or work ethic so if you could give me some guidance it would be nice too
