- Scruff works at the Boxford's estate on the Kirk Ronan branch line and Spencer often treats him like rubbish. Scruff managed to stand up for himself but Spencer was still treating him like rubbish and so Scruff tried to get him back but it would only bring him some consequences.

I'm just gonna say, Spencer was pretty ballsy to boss Scruff around when the Duke was LITERALLY standing RIGHT in front of him!
Great story. Also, perfect Spencer voice, with that upper-class-sounding accent, makes him come across as very smug.
Even though I didn't care for Scruff as a character, but I do like this headcanon for him as the Boxford's second private engine. And it's a rarity to see him interact with Spencer (as he already had with Whiff). I also like how Percy gave Scruff advice on how to stand up to Spencer given how he already stood up to the big engines with Duck in Series 2, even if it didn't work out before his trick.
The part before the accident happened, I knew right away this is based on the real incident that had happened to Union of South Africa. Also, your Spencer voice is brilliant - both posh and arrogant given his persona.

This is yet another episode that I could relate to as I remember being bossed around by other students in my secondary school for having different opinions to theirs.
Nice to see Scruff put Spencer in his place, even if the method was a bit underhanded.

This is one of your best stories you have written. It works so well and I love how Scruff became a shunting engine for the Duke and Duchess of Boxford. Spencer really doesn't know when to stop being so bossy and rude. Percy's advice didn't quite help as much. The trick that Scruff played was an unusual one, and I haven't heard of that part at 8:35, but then again, it's nice to learn something new. Well done on this brilliant episode😀👏👍.
You never disappoint. I mean, if an interaction between Spencer and Scruff hasn't proven to be brilliant, nothing will.

I don't like Spencer at all He is my least favourite character why is he so cocky
He’s the fastest steam engine type in the world
He thinks he’s untouchable
Plus he’s privately own he’s not some ‘common workhorse’ engine like the NWR fleet.
That was a very noice episode focusing on Spencer and Scruff, @NWR1991 :3
