      Thank you. Yes, Thailand is a long way for many of us, even farther for you than me. I didn't visit extensively but Chiang Mai in the north was lovely.

    Market looks good - well done. Love growing plants from seed or cutting into maturity. And here you are with Thai tissue cultured Aroids grown on in Ireland. Seemed easy for you to get them out of Thailand and into Ireland. Not so sure it would be simple process bringing them into Australia. Enjoy growing them on.

      Ah, well. Australia has its own particular regulations. There's a lot to protect!

      Glad you enjoyed the video. Chatachuk is such an amazing market. It has to be on every plant-lovers wish list. Which potting and repotting videos do you miss? I wasn't aware I had stopped making them 😳 I assume you saw the recent Christmas cactus saving video?

      @GardeningatDouentza yes ma'am I saw the Christmas Cactus... I know you have done them on cutting to make baby begonia rex, but for some reason all my babies leaves dry and crinkle... any suggestions??

    I’m glad you enjoyed your visit to Thailand, Rachel! The Monstera you found at the 3:00 mark of the video is actually a highly variegated Thai Constellation! Hopefully you’ve tried many of our food, and come back for another visit in the future!
    Cheers, from Thailand ❤

    Can you buy plants in there and bring them in Uk, and how many can you bring

    • @GardeningatDouentza
      @GardeningatDouentza  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mariaana7787 Unfortunately since Brexit you can't even buy plants in the EU and bring them to UK. So, the answer to your question is no. Except in the case of companies providing CITES certification, as explained in this video.

    Just make sure you don't put the new Monstera where the old one can see it, you don't want it getting jealous.

    Why would you even dare think that plant came from America to Thailand. That's crazy. Thailand is the house plant capital of the world.

    • @GardeningatDouentza
      @GardeningatDouentza  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I'm not sure who you're talking to. Nobody said plants came from US.

      Based on the video, I also don’t know who you’re referring to, but Thailand isn’t the only houseplant capital of the world. Lol. For instance, Colombia is the native home of anthuriums and philodendrons, Syngonium se, caladiums, and marantaceae, among many other species, so they have a booming houseplant industry. Also, Indonesia, as so many people import from there… also, Florida is pretty big on growers. They have a semi-tropical / tropical climate in the majority of the state… it only freezes at the northern end usually. I say USUALLY…haha, that freak winter weather recently did occur throughout the state, freezing many pythons, iguanas, and non-native reptiles and plants! But Florida is known to grow a ton of plants. Plus there’s south/central Texas that has a lot of growers, such as Steve’s Leaves; they run a pretty big business. Not to mention, um, a little country that streamlined & condensed the houseplant manufacturing business, years ago, in a highly professional way… a little country called the Netherlands? 😂
