I first discovered it after I graduated in highschool around year 2012. Now, more than 10 years had passed, I'm already a lawyer and battling adult life, I still come back to this.
It brings back memories of when I was still young. This is a masterpiece.

You know? Words cannot explain how difficult was for me to overcome all my depression and anxiety problems throughout the years and specially since my lifelong best friend commited suicide a few years ago...
I still come here frequently because he was the person who introduced me to this cover and he told me that it helped him find a little hope and peace during his darkest moments and depression episodes (eventually he gave up)
But even to this day I feel like this is the only "thing" that sometimes helps me ease the pain of those sad memories...
Now, me? I live a wonderful life with the woman of my dreams and I play this tune to our baby boy before he goes to sleep almost every night ...to anyone out there reading this..DON'T EVER GIVE UP ON LIFE, THERE'S PEOPLE WHO LOVE YOU AND CARE FOR YOU...at the end of the day, the sun will always come out again to warm ALL OF US. Peace everyone...

Heard this beautiful tune on acoustic in 2013. Learned it up to the middle (where the serious finger stretching begins) and finally got to the end in 2023 (video on my channel). Oh my goodness, it's been 10 years!

It's a difficult song to play no doubt since it rolls 3 guitars into one. There are tabs, and he plays it pretty well so just watch what he does and use your ear. Worked for me.

This song reminds me of waking up at 4am just to make it to morning practice and the smell of fresh cut grass, knowing i would have to do all over again in the afternoon in 100 degree weather just for the 8 nights I would get to share with my best friends running out onto a field lit by lights surrounded by a crowd full of screaming teenagers. It may sound crazy to anybody who hasn't been through it but I'd give anything to have those days back, just to be able to put my pads back on.
Friday Night Lights has inspired me so much. I watched the movie before then this past summer I watched the Tv show while training for 7th grade football (Yeah I live in Texas) Football became more to me. It is a Lifestyle and brotherhood, It's an amazing sport.

this makes me feel nostalgic of my highschool even though im still in highschool. its like you're in school just to visit it again. but then you decided to roam around the campus as well couz youre there. you remembered every chase in the hallways. every laugh in every room. the way you used to play in a field. it made you feel nostalgic.
Enjoy those days while you can and be good to everyone. It goes by quick, there are times when I realize I'm not exactly young anymore and I'm just shocked. All of my old classmates have been getting married and having kids and for a few years now. It really goes by fast.
I'm actually in tears. This is so beautiful. I'm just a beginner at guitar but I want to play this so badly. Thanks for sharing

I started playing guitar in 2015 and ever since then I tried to learn this one, now at the end of 2021 I can finally play it well. Don't lose hope! Keep practicing and return here when you make some progress.

@@gleam6370 Not really 7 years. I tried playing it while still a beginner and realized I needed to develop my technique to play it. So I practiced for a while and every now and then came back to it to see if I felt I was ready to tackle it. I played lots of other stuff in the meantime (some arguably way harder than this). I could probably have played it by my 4th year of guitar but at the time I focused way more on classical music. A good point is also about what you practiced. I only got into "fingerstyle" guitar about 2 years into it and started using my fingers rather than a pick.
If you really want this one, you could focus on it and make it even though it's out of your level, some pieces you can power your way through. But don't be discouraged! Music is about the journey not the destination, if you don't feel like it's the right time for this one I'm sure you can find a lot of other music to build up your skills until you feel like you're ready.

But no, it won't eventually sound good that's just stupid. Instead, play something, and if it doesn't sound good, try something else. You'll find something really quickly that sounds beautiful if you experiment. Play a note. Now pluck that string with a pencil. Like that tone better? Cool. Now maybe press the fret harder or softer, notice the difference in timbre. That is experimentation, and through it you find more and more of what you like to then make yourself a more self-actualized musician.

@43 seconds is your pinky on the 10th fret? On the tabs i think you made on UG it doesn't show that 10. Been trying to learn this from ya lol I think it might be a 7 on the tabs but maybe suppose to be on the 10th? on the B string

Why does every one think the ending is hard? That bit is kinda easy The hard part is the finger positioning for the "chorus". Who in the hell fingers can spread like that? Ive been practicing that bit for a week and it takes over a second to place my fingers like that, sometimes I still have to move my fingers with my other hand.
