I have heard Shaye play some terrific solos, but I believe that this one was the most beautiful. It was deep and tender, melodic, and perfectly structured!
I feel that the cornet solos are different from that of the males. Shaye's playing is melodic and sensitive. Also having a Japanese mother has some bearing on the selection of her notes and phrasing. Louis Armstrong has influence too in the spirit of her feeling for New Orleans jazz.

Pops Coffee => You noticed the same what I experienced when playing a solo with them. It was the 12-BAR blues scheme and in Dutch we say => Ik ging de mist in! Translation => I lost my way!
@DJ Szabó I think Shaye does not drink or smoke...her mind has to stay clear in order for her and her band to play some of the complex musical arrangements and all by memory. I hope none of them drink alcoholic beverages to excess or take drugs like many jazz musicians that ruin lives and talent.
