Totally agree, my wife's polo 1.4tdi was on 180k before a tractor decided we didn't need it anymore 🙄 all vw/audi diesel engines need specific oil grades
Hi Mate, quick question i have the same car and it failed on emissions diagnostics check is showing post cat lambda sensor/o2 sensor is not working. ive located the pre-cat sensor and all 3 EGT sensors but for the life of me cannot locate the post-cat o2 sensor. just a shot in the dark but you wouldnt happen to know where it is? thanks
In all honesty mate not off the top of my head, the easiest way to find the right sensor ( there's so many these days) is to find the correct wire where it plugs in and trace it backwards, they are coloured alot of the time but deff numbered, Google the number and position job done.
Hello! Question for you, I have a same car and the acceleration is not good, especially after third speed, and the smoke is black goin outside from the car. What can be problem, there is nothing showin as an electric error, I tried and clean maf senzor, what can it be? Thanks for giving us advice and this video!! :))
Hi, and my pleasure, to be honest it could be a lot of things, I check the egr valve, there's a little hole on the left side of the body, if there's oil coming out of it the diaphragm has gone, £30 on ebay and it'll drive like new again, bit of a faff to replace but not to bad, try cleaning the veins on the turbo, ( iv done a video on that) could be stuck shut, check for air leaks, if none of those work get back in touch and I'll see if I can think of anything else, it's hard to diagnose without seeing it.
Hi Adam, just a quick question I know the fuel filter is different on my golf 1.9tdi as it’s a filter cartridge to replace inside but do I do the same thing and replace the filter then fill up the fuel bowl after with fresh diesel? Will this work and not create an issue with air and cutting out? Many thanks
Hey up mate 👍🏻there's a service on my daughters A3 1.9 same engine I explain on there how to do it mate, but yeah remove the old in with new plus new O rings but don't fill it to the top it'll over flow, you've gotta alow for the feed going in to.
wait, are you under the car only on jacks? No jack stands? So unnecessary to risk your life like that. I can send you articles of people getting under cars, the jacks hydraulic system for whatever reason failed, and they where crushed. For the only reason of not using stands.
PD engines require a specific oil to prevent in head diesel pump damage. Standard synthetic is not good enough and accelerates wear of the pump.
