Super Bowl XLIV 59 New Orleans welcomes the NFL 2025, Vince Lombardi Trophy with second line tonight in the French Quarter of New Orleans! New Orleans is welcoming the NFL and the world to the city in the best way they know possible, a second line. The city kicked off Super Bowl week with a second line lead by Super Bowl XLIV champion Deuce McAllister. Local musicians and groups including the Roots of Music, brass bands, Mardi Gras Indians and the Baby Dolls helped kick off the week. To welcome the Vince Lombardi trophy in typical New Orleans fashion, fans can join in a second-line on Sunday, Feb. 2, as it makes its way to the Superdome ahead of Super Bowl LIX. Over 200 members from the Mardi Gras Indians, Baby Dolls, Roots of Music and other local groups will commemorate the trophy with a parade ending in Jackson Square. The festivities will start at 5:00 p.m. at 300 Conti Street, turn right on Decatur St. and continue to Jackson Square, where a projection show debut on the St. Louis Cathedral will follow. The light show will continue nightly through the Super Bowl. Super Bowl Opening Night is Monday at the Caesars Superdome and officially kicks off Super Bowl LIX. This event brings fans together to welcome the AFC and NFC champions to New Orleans, get a sneak peek at the iconic Super Bowl imagery and host stadium, and hear directly from both teams players and coaches ahead of Sunday’s Big Game. Fans will enjoy live entertainment, special appearances, autographs by NFL Legends, team mascots and fan photo opportunities. Don’t miss this magical display in Jackson Square, running nightly from Feb 2-9, every 30 minutes starting at 6:30 PM! The St. Louis Cathedral Projections will kick off in Jackson Square beginning Sunday, Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m., with stunning visuals projected onto the city’s most iconic landmarks, the Cathedral, the Cabildo and the Presbytère. Highlighting Super Bowl LIX colors of orange, red and yellow, the projection will feature unique designs from local artists, including Becky Fos, James Michalopoulos, Terrance Osborne, George Rodrigue, and Hunt Slonem. The show will include a soundtrack inspired by the many native sounds of the city, leaning into jazz, blues, and rock and roll. The images will be created by thirteen 40,000 lumen laser projectors and emitting 520,000 lumens of light.
