I’ve got one of these on the way from Sweetwater. This is one of my top 3 bucket list guitars, right behind a ‘56 Les Paul Custom reissue. Beyond excited.
@@cainable2241 I'm sure he plays a lot of guitars. I play spruce tops too and they don't compare to mahogany when it comes to hard stuff, especially the martin mahogany guitars
@@bgp6656 Your prejudice is showing. A Martin is not always a slam dunk. However, I would agree that THIS Martin would be a better guitar than the PRS. Many beginner Martins, including possibly many Road Series would not. Being a closed-minded label snob doesn't inform anyone.
Major point you failed to mention ... the “A-frame” top bracing ... the secret sauce behind its resonant voice. More structural strength around the sound hole (where it’s most needed) and more open bracing in the lower bout.
some models look a bit darker/red on video and in photos than other models. is that just lighting or does the shade of color vary on these instruments?
Only been playing for a few years.. Upgraded from my 100 starter guitar... And this was the baby for me... Just need to practice more.. Like a beautiful woman This guitar deserves to be played with... 👍
The rosewood on mine is really dark, and beautiful. The sound is beautiful with lots of good overtones. I took the pick guard off cuz -- sh!!!y plastic on an otherwise beautiful thing -- Notice how the worn streetmaster version leaves it off.... that inspired me and now just more wood grain to appreciate.... And if you're a wild strummer, you probably should go with a dreadnought anyways as this guitar really sings more if you play with finesse. Great review. Thanks.
The new ones are using more morado which is a hardwood similar to rosewood, but denser and closer to ebony. It is often lighter with more colors. As the world moves forward many folks who are close-minded about specs are going to have trouble adjusting to tonewood scarcity as sipo replaces Honduran mahogany, morado-pau ferro replaces ebony and new exotics force us to adjust our sensibilities. I ordered this today and it will be morado and sipo and I couldn't be happier.
Edmer Peralta Use whatever you like. I use mostly nylon maxi grips, which I use for the grip. But I think Ultex or Delrin sound better (brighter) but don’t have the grip of a nylon.
@@edgilberto hi Edmer, I’ve just looked at my pick and it’s Jim Dunlop light grey nylon .60, this works for me. I found the dark grey Jim Dunlop are a bit too hard but good luck 👍😎

Hi, i have a question , i want to buy this beautiful guitar , it sounds so good ...but my problem is : is there a way to put a pickup on without piercing a hole in ??? I saw theres is a version with already one in the 000-15me but it seems to be a very rare version... And not a lot for sale... So is there a piezzo or something that it sounds good
Tom, you’re a great guitarist but a) you talk so quickly that I sometimes can’t understand what you’re saying and b) try not to shave so far up your neck - you have an American style face-beard and it looks weird.
I have owned one 7 years. I had to have it re-fretted I played it so much. I love it
Great review!!
I got a 000-15m for my 50th birthday and now I don’t wish for any more acoustic guitars athough my wife doesn’t believe me.
I just ordered one. I am so excited to receive it.
Paul Isbell congratulations , enjoy 😉
What do you think about it so far?
Well , how is it ?

Cornelius Crewe How is it?
I just bought this guitar today in Austin Texas at Strait Guitar & i could not be happier with my purchase.
Tried one of these at a shop...I fell in love for that tone...and I'm a metal guy
haha same here. mahogany is a must for us. Metallica just don't sound right on a spruce top
@@mexicanfrusciante Another misconception. Kirk Hammett plays a Martin D-42. Spruce top.

@@mexicanfrusciante Fair enough man. I just bought a 000-15m. I also have the special, equally nice.
Just bought one last week, awesome guitar
I've got the 000-15 and the D-15. They sound extra wonderful with Martin's Retro (monel) strings
Best review of this guitar on TH-cam!!! Good job explaining and great playing
I've played this model and I'm in love with it. It's just so loud.for its size. gorgeous guitar for the money....I'm gettin one
Same model. My favorite guitare and I play this guitar every single day. Awesome !!!!
Great review, thank you!
I used to work in a guitar store and played hundreds of high-end guitars. I ended up buying one of these... it was 'the one' :)
Club Soda so true. I picked one up in guitar center and it was so comfortable to play
@@jerryx2000 A prs se doesn't compare at all to a Martin.
Picking mine up Tuesday
@@bgp6656 Owned a PRS SE for a month. Sold on Reverb, terrible sounding, awful Indonesian QC issues. I want to thank PRS for making me a Fender lifer.

Sounds so nice.

These guitars have a huge tone...they record like nothing else...nice review...I had to get one!
Nice demo of a very nice guitar! Have you reviewed the OOO 15 RS?
love the sound of mahogany, I need a job at a music store they wouldn't have to pay me
How does the Martin compare to the all mahogany Furch om , I’m trying to choose which one to go for?

Heavy Hand
Matt Mayuiers Yes he’s really an electric rock fusion player........an incredible player. His legato is amazing.
Not heavy hand at all. Toms technique is outstanding. Playing with minimal movement. A very ergonomic player.
