the frequency doesnt matter as long as the transmitter and reciever are at the same frequency and it isnt the same frequency as any other controllers nearby

Every DC motor works in both directions just by reversing the polarity of the voltage supplied. Yes, you can use a adequate solar charger for charging the batteries. The transmitter and receiver circuit can be same but the charging circuit will change. I used a 3.7v battery and a TP4056 charging module is suitable for that only but for using a 12v motor, you will be needing 12v high current battery which requires a different charger.

I used the remote from an old RC car. However, you can make a remote yourself also but it will never be cost effective. I highly recommend to buy a cheap RC toy from a local shop and use the circuit to make your own project.

hi @GOODTECH - Creativity and Science you didn't use servo for steering, right? how does it work then...? I don't know much about RC cars and all. but thought we require a servo for it.

No, it is not necessary to use a servo. Only a high torque motor is required, so it can easily turn the steering. Since servo has very high torque so it is most commonly used. However, since my car was made of cardboard and is very light weight so i used a geared DC motor which also has relatively enough torque for my use.

No, a drone requires to control multiple motors. It needs ESC circuits (to control current in all the motors differently) to be integrated or connected to the motherboard along with flight controllers that also has gyroscope and accelerometer ,etc . The car wireless receivers lack such functionality.
