      This is SWAHILI CULTURE.
      Different from the Mijikenda Culture.
Mijikenda Community is made up of 9 nations.
The Swahili Community is made up of 12 nations.
Indeed, both communities really have a rich culture.

@@kuschprince3216 you are totally wrong. The mythical Singwaya Exodus was btn 12 to 17 centuries. And before that time, Bajunis were already in Pate and Siyu. These are Swahilis remember. And by the way, Shungwayas were many. It was not the Mijikenda only. Even the Comoros, some Swahilis, Pokomos, Elwanas, all had some history from there.
In fact, when the exodus happened in 12 to 17 centuries, there was already evidence of Arab presence back in 11 century. These Arabs were welcomed by the Swahilis in Mombasa, not Mijikenda. And they traded and intermarried. In fact, in 1151 before the Shungwaya exodus, a famous Arab geographer called Muhammad al-Idrisi already mentioned about the people of Mombasa in his writings.
The Arabs found the Swahilis in East Coast of Africa and they counted them in 12 Nations under different tribes and clans. It is true that in one theory, some Swahilis are a product of inter marriage with Arabs. But it is also true that Wachangamwe, Wakilindini, Wajomvu, Wapate, Wakilifi, Wamvita and others (all Swahilis) were already in the shores of Lamu to Vanga before the Arabs came and before the Mijikendas descended from Shungwaya and later from the Nyika. One of the theories is that "Swahilis" was an expression by the Arabs defining the 12 Nations as the people on the Coastal islands or the sawahils. Meaning the Coastals. Heard of Shehe Mvita? Mwana Mkisi was a Mombasa Queen before Arabs and before Islam came. Pure Swahilis in Kongowea and Mvita.
I can go on and on, but in short, Swahilis and Mijikendas may share some cultural similarities, but it is a lie to claim that Swahilis are Mijikenda. If anything, they are only cousins.
