Parasyte was really good. Pacing is really important to me so I often knock a lot of anime series for being too long, but Parasyte is one of the very few shows I'd knock for being too short. I really would have loved to see them explore more society after the invasion plus I feel like the power level of the enemies escalated really quickly at the end and could have been done slower.
Kyotosomo - I think it could have done better with more parasite interactions, that way we could have had that much more time for him to realistically progress in skill. It would have upped the action a bit, gave us some more of his and his parasite's character, and given us more hints at the wider view of the parasite's global "infection".
Kyotosomo Now that you mention it, I would have liked to see how Goto became what he is. I mean did they take the larva of four parasites and infected each limb while tying a rope around them or did they just move the infected heads of hosts and turned them into limbs?
Thomas Jess - Most likely the heads into a host, otherwise they wouldn't each be capable of taking over as the head(that's one of the reasons the Protag Parasyte didn't just take over his body after the midnight struggle. I think the logic had to do with needing to consume and convert a certain amount of matter, and that they also needed to see how human brains control the body I order to do it themselves).
Patrick That makes the most sense. At one point early on, Shinichi and Migi encounter a parasite controlled human who offers Migi to jump ship in the form of his right arm. Also Goto could shape-shift his arm into a head after Miki failed to kill them.
*Daniel Art* - The psychological aspect of the characters was very interesting, even if some of the characters seemed a bit unrealistically obtuse at times(however, that was likely something they intended as it helped accentuate the strange lack of parasite detection and the strange cold intelligence of many of the parasites).
When Shinichi cried after that parasyte lady died, I was on the verge of tears. It was so impactful. I went in expecting an ok 6/10, but ended up watching a 10/10
I think one of my favorite things about it was Shinichi’s dub actor. He was able to PERFECTLY capture the terrified bafflement of everything going on around him, and then his complete detachment from it after Migi repaired his heart.
guys something is wrong, it says the comment was made 31 minutes ago, but the answer made give 40 minutes ago. did you mess up with the mirowave again jeff? your mom is going to get soooo pissed
And after Shiinichi's transformation due to having to be healed by Migi, he'll keep the low profile by faking his death to fool the parasite impersonating his mother, and will take on a new codename Handsome.
It's a bit of a weird direction for the franchise to go in to go in, but I think Parasyte is a good sequel to Midori Days. Really adds a lot to the canon.
Nihilism very true! It just doesn't have an old "anime", only an old (and very very good) manga. This is its first adaptation I think. I love when TH-camrs that I love like Geoff show how good and smooth old hand drawn animation can be.
WARNING: this video has spoilers for devilman crybaby. It’s an excellent anime and you should really watch it blind to the story, if you aren’t screamish about dark stories, violence and sex, lots of all of that... it’s great though.
Yeah, I noticed that when I got it from the editor. unfortunately there wasn't enough time to fix it, and since it was just a joke I didn't want to delay the video for it.
I loved Parasyte The Maxim. First time I saw the whole season, I watched it on Adult Swim back in 2015 and God was it a good show! I re-watched the season last year and I'm watching it again!
I'm actually a big fan of Lupin III's modern take/use of social media. At first it seems like it's just tacked on, but as the season has progressed there's been some very clever manipulation of people's thoughts and actions by Lupin and Friends through the social media situation they find themselves in. Great Video as always
Jambon De Pays Seems believable. If so that's pretty cool writing to include that sort of topical modern thing without it feeling really tacky - which I don't think it is.
Actually, Crybaby's screenwriter Ookouchi Ichirou is involved in the new Lupin. I like the main concept but Ami is just way too Chyunibyou to fit in the Lupin franchise and Lupin's character is going off track imo.... Plus Ookouchi is pretty infamous for writing Chyunibyou stuff in Guilty Crown and Kabaneri.... Hope this doesn't start to suck half way.
You clearly don't understand what chuunibyou means given that you mispelled it, capped it for no reason, and also used to describe a character that isn't a chuuni at all. Seriously, what do you think it means? There are no chuunis in Kabeneri or Lupin part V. Kaido from Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan is a chuuni, the only category Ami would fit in would be kuudere and oh my god why do i know so much about this
Agreed, Ami can't be "way too Chuuni" because she isn't chuuni at all. I can't really say that Lupin's character is going off track either since he's been a lot of different things in each adaptation to begin with. The original Lupin III from the 70s manga was way darker than any anime version. This Lupin feels pretty similar to the other "blue jacket" Lupin from the previous anime so it feels like there is continuity there.
Not from the vantage point of Shinichi, but from Nobuko's vantage point Shinichi would be one of the most important focal points of her life, because he is her son. As such, he becomes a plot device for her development (albeit limited, because she's a supporting character, not the protagonist), most notably when catching the pot of boiling oil and getting the scar, in order to save young Shinichi from it.
Nope Naw perspective is important in storytelling, I remember that scene. Really helped Shinichi and co to develop their characters as the show progressed.
Shiniji or shinichi is the same. It wasn't written in alphabet since shinichi is a kanji word but spelled with alphabet to make outsiders understand how to spell the name. It could be shiniqi sheeneechee sinichi
I am probably the only one that watched this video only to get super hyped for this Summer's Banana Fish... I don't know if I'd want it to stay true to period or get an update... but damn am I hype.

The main plot is based on the idea that there was a conspiracy during WWII and it affected the main character because his big brother was involved in it. That can be updated to another war without too much trouble tho.
XogeiD Nu-taro is only successful because of brand recognition and because it moe-fied neko musume to appeal to otaku who only care about cute girls. It'll look SUPER dated in about 10 years.
Both shows looks super dated and both shows used some fanservice techniques, Cutey Hones has 5 famous Seiyuu voicing the MC, just to try to bank of their pull, BESIDES the nature of the show itself. If we talk about brand recognition, CH should at least stand side to side to Kitaro as the brainchild of Go Nagai, the original "rule of cool" show, the show that introduced fanservice to anime, the very "social norms transgressor", the inspiration for transformation sequences, etc. But it seems that no name or title can save you from technical failures.
XogeiD >cutie honey introduced transformation sequences Trying not to be an ass but no, himitsu no akko chan was arguably the first. Created by the MASSIVELY influential fujio akatsuka, it was considered the first magical girl manga on the whole, and only a little bit shy of first shoujou anime. its a not a total cultural mainstay like some of his other works (osomatsu-kun, bakabon, moretsu ataro) but is still very much important.
I'm not saying it invented them, but both the original and F became pretty much the refenrence for transformations, F showing that you could still innovate and compete with Sailor Moon.

Your last videos were really great. And I agree with most of them, since I like those series too. Even the Persona 5, to some extent. Edit: I’m still hoping that the animation will redeem itself.
Honestly, considering how huge the persona games are, i just dunno why they keep trying to make an anime out of the game stories. I really feel they would have been a lot better if they started somewhat the same but then go completely different to still have a satisfying story to watch but in less time, just as alternative.
Mother's Basement exactly. I wouldn’t have mind to wait longer for an animation release if it mean good pacing and better animation, besides a less bland Ren. And it’s A-1 studios, i don’t understand what are they doing, considering that they had done a good job with previous animes.
Damn Parasyte is so good, when I watched it the first time I had no idea what it was. I only gave it a shot because it was the only interesting thing on Chrunchyroll at the time after only one episode I was hooked. It was awesome waiting week after week for a new episode to come out and when everything was wrapped up I was delighted by how complete it was everything was tied up and no sequel in sight. I really love this show it's odd how I almost forgot about it.
Patrick I've seen the anime and read the manga of Tokyo Ghoul and I can say without a doubt that Tokyo Ghoul is nowhere near as good as Parasyte. Yes, it is true that the manga of Tokyo Ghoul is much better than the Tokyo Ghoul anime but even the manga has a lot of problems.
@@NopeJustPatrick the Parasyte manga is one of the most thought-provoking fiction i have ever read. It's subtle themes about the hypocrisy of mankind and the hero complex of Shinichi is so good
Você é demais cara, te conheci a pouco tempo por conta daquela confusão... porém agora estou pasmo em como eu nunca ouvi falar do seu canal antes, seu conteúdo e muito bem elaborado e a forma que você transmite isso é incrível! Good job man!
The art style turns off a lot of people (I loved it), but that show has been stuck in my mind ever since I watched it back in January. If you do end up watching it, some episodes have after credits scenes and the last episode has a pretty significant one so keep an eye out for those.
I remember watching Parasyte for the first time back in december because i was looking for a good horror anime, but what I ended up getting was a fantastic scifi story about humanity and its relationa to others, among other strong themes. Its a great show. Still haven't seen any devilman.
Glad that Real Account got another shout out from you. Been a huge fan of both that and Spirit Circle ever since you first recommended them in a video like 2 years ago
Your video makes me remember HOW AWESOME watching Parasyte was!!!!!! Plus, after years and years, it was the anime that FINALLY got my sister interested in the topic of anime; we watched Parasyte and Death Parade, really bonding over those anime--anime has brought us closer together and it's ALL thanks to Parasyte!!!!!! :D :D :D
Literally didn't even make it through half this video before tabbing over to watch Parasyte for the first time. MB, you're great at turning me onto good anime. Thanks! (I came back to finish this vid after the 4th episode lol).
Harlan Guthrie - It was accidentally missedited, but he didn't really have enough time to fix it before uploading. It was for a minor gag anyways, so he didn't bother with trying to change it.
I didn't get into the Parasyte anime. I just couldn't get over the changes they made to it. I read the original manga, and it's one of my favourite manga of all time. The changes to Shin's character over time, the upped stakes, everything is on this weird quasi-grand scale. But when I see clips from the anime, I don't see Parasyte. I see something *trying* to be Parasyte. At the most surface level, it doesn't *look* like Parasyte. The original manga had a somewhat unique look to it (as manga is want to do) and the anime doesn't even come close to capturing that. I get that they wanted to bring it into the modern day, but there was no need to do that. Yes it adds some bits with the whole aspect of modern technology, but there really was no reason for why it couldn't be a period piece.
I have since gone back and watched the anime (although skipping the first episode and starting with the second and third episode instead) and I did in fact enjoy it. Granted, I still think I would've enjoyed it more if it was closer to the original manga than the anime is. Little things like how Satomi switches from holding Shin's right hand to holding his left hand changes the dynamic of the characters. In the original manga it's Shin that changes hands when Satomi starts inspecting his right hand. To touch on something mentioned in this video, namely when Shin picks up the spider (or cockroach in the original). In the manga it's not there to humanize Shinichi, it's literally there to do the complete opposite. To show how Shinichi is acting different, less human, and how his mother is subconsciously picking up on it. Because the entire point of the story is how Shinichi is gradually becoming less and less human and his way back to humanity from that realization. Edit: I'll give the anime one giant plus point, though, the ED song. It hits super hard, especially in some of the more sad parts of the story.
you said a lot of truth in this, as more and more older media get rebooted, it really shows which themes and which works are truly timeless pieces of art. Everything you said can be applied to video games, movies, older books etc. I enjoyed this video bro
One of the best parts of the second half of the show is how unrelatable the main character is, same thing with Migi, Migi feels absolutely stupid and unrelatable but that's why he's so great.
That slick cut of Gankutsuou when talking about foreign themes made me smile. Still the best Count of Monte Cristo adaptation ever made, and I really hope you someday do an adapt-or-die on it. It's way more ambitious than any western adaptation of the novel I've ever seen.
I started watching parasyte again recently. Just finished it up, and as I was getting ready to go to bed (by listening to the amazing OST of course) I somehow stumbled across a video of yours I haven't seen, and a recent one at that!
LOL That moment when you discover Parasyte has been around for a long time after just finishing the series on Netflix and wondering why no one is talking about it ;p
How can these people not appreciate something as good as Parasyte lmao It's one of the best works of Madhouse studios, it has incredible writing, it's smart and relatable instead of being predictable and stupid like 99% of anime nowadays, it's a thought provoking story adorned with a unique soundtrack, good animations during the action scenes (as per usual with madhouse) and overall great execution. It's one of those anime that anybody should watch if you've got the stomach for some of the more gruesome scenes. That's the only thing that would keep someone from watching it
freeway the only critique i would really have about parasyte is that a lot of the ppl (besides some of the main characters and antagonists) aren't the brightest minded when i rewatched the show.
Oh man I'm glad you reminded me of Parasyte. It was a good anime, I wasn't terribly happy with the ending since I didn't find it satisfying but I was in love with the idea and most of the show
Bota no assistir mais tarde e volta daqui a um dia que ja deve ter. Esses videos com legenda sao assim. O pewdiepie por exemplo tbm tem, mas os deles sao mais rapidos porque... ne, pewdiepie
alexandra galici I thought Devilman Crybaby stepped up the character development. From what I gathered in the manga the only one that ever really developed was Ryo. Akira had maybe two points of advancement: when he fused with Amon and when he questioned his fighting for humanity. Everyone else got next to no development, if any at all. It could be argued that Ryo developed less as a character in the new anime, but I was alright if that sacrifice meant even just a bit more for the other characters.
Thomas Fernandez I mean I can see why people like it. The soundtrack is good and it has a unique aesthetic. + the Chadstride is legendary. That’s about it though.
Liable Punchline Dispenser I liked it a lot because it showed the worst side of human nature instead of the best side. Plus it killed of its main character which i've never seen happen before in an anime. There are probably more then enough other anime like this, but this was the first time i've seen one like it so it sticks with me. And as you mentioned the soundtrack is awesome.
I think the main reason for it being so overrated is that it does a lot of things differently. But so many people look at it and see different and assume that different = good. I didn't like Devilman Crybaby, I felt like it tried so hard innovating and creating something shocking and controversial that it just flat up forgot how to tell a coherent story. I supposed you could argue that the show's mainly about symbolism but for me, symbolism works so much better when it's ingrained throughout a well-written story to allow that symbolism to sink into you rather than just lay it out in your face. just my 2 cents though, no issue with liking something someone else doesn't
i think the 1st thing to do for any adaptation is to understand why the original work is loved, then what's the essence of said work, and then (if necessary) how or what can be "updated". now what scene stuck with me under this topic was the beginning of the new kitaro series, to put it bluntly, it was fucking brilliant
In comparison, Parasyte was just a better anime when compared to Devilman Crybaby. Everything from character and world building, believable events, tragedy and modernisation was handled better in Parasyte. Crybaby was just hyped to all hell and was more style over substance sadly.
alexandra galici devilman is a male fulfillment fantasy (from Japan which is not especially GREAT at these sort of things) so it’s obvious it’s not going to connect with what a woman actually find attractive in a man. It’s not the point.
alexandra galici That's true Devilman Crybaby isn't a good adaptation by any means heck it tends to confuse new audience more often than not. When a director admits to changing important pointd of the story to suit his own whims you know that you're in trouble. Parasyte updated the characters and story without altering it pointlessly. That allowed it to keep the message and spirit of the story. Devilman Crybaby failed to do that.
WHOAH! to be real for a sec... I didnt even spend a second of thought to that google search, I just accepted as a totally reasonable fact everyone would do! holy shit youve opened my eyes to good directors

Parasyte is so fking good
TheDarkEnrocoNeter have you watched the English Dub?
The first 7 episodes because those were the only ones available at the time after that I watched the Sub why?
TheDarkEnrocoNeter nothing, just what you think of the English Dub? You thought it was okay?
It's been a while but from what I remember it was good, still prefer the sub tho
i hate to be that person but parasyte sub is better

Hopefully he doesn't do halfway hand jobs. You need to be very hands on with your opponents after all.
It's a bit of a weird direction for the franchise to go in to go in, but I think Parasyte is a good sequel to Midori Days. Really adds a lot to the canon.
Camics and Mango - Midori Days was the sequel.
Lol good try.
Bruh this made my day 😂
Holy shit nice transition between parasite and crybaby through the phone
Super eyepatchwolf talks about Akira and you talk about Devilman...

Assirra I wouldn’t mind either, but you there’s something wrong when the anime cutscenes from the game are better than the anime itself.
I know, a lot less work went into them clearly. The work that went into P5 style has to been a gigantic task and it makes it all the more impressive.
I love how the comments have a bunch of Portuguese people :D You've really reached new audiences Geoff.
"...Mustang killing Lust..."
*Shows Mustang killing Envy*
Love you Geoff.
FINALLY A VIDEO INVOLVING PARASYTE!!!!!!!
I’m scared of Parasyte from the concept alone. A little bug crawling inside your ear and slowly eating away your mind.
If it makes you feel better, it's not slow. The eating of your brain and complete replacement of your identity is nearly instantaneous.
Rynjinivar Instead of taking It’s time it instantaneously takes over your mind and body, along with your life! Yep! Reassuring 😅
@@Rynjinivar but that means that if it goes in any other body part it loses its chance to infect you and you now have a super power
Oooo whos gonna tell him.. its not slow
Amoeba
Aw yeah, Parasyte! Damn that show is great!
Parasyte is one of my favorite anime/manga of all time
DEEEEEVIIIRR MAAAAAAAN. Wait what we were talking about??
Parasyte > Tokyo Ghoul imo
Simple Knight - Apparently(judging by the reactions of other similar comments) the manga for TG is much better than Parasyte.
Season one is on par with it season 2 and 3 to competition
@@NopeJustPatrick the Parasyte manga is one of the most thought-provoking fiction i have ever read. It's subtle themes about the hypocrisy of mankind and the hero complex of Shinichi is so good
@@zestobrandino Me from two years ago was talking out of his ass, probably because he was still on the first season of TG.
Você é demais cara, te conheci a pouco tempo por conta daquela confusão... porém agora estou pasmo em como eu nunca ouvi falar do seu canal antes, seu conteúdo e muito bem elaborado e a forma que você transmite isso é incrível! Good job man!
"You'd google it"
*uses bing*
Wtf man, i trusted you
Really appreciated the bits of the crybaby ost in the add section at the end of the video. I love this channel so much.
INB4 this video gets stolen by a Brazilian youtuber
This was a great video! Gotta check out Devilman
The art style turns off a lot of people (I loved it), but that show has been stuck in my mind ever since I watched it back in January. If you do end up watching it, some episodes have after credits scenes and the last episode has a pretty significant one so keep an eye out for those.
Don’t forget to read the manga! That’s much more important
The manga was better
I live inside your house Not really
Nice to see others so passionate about parasyte.
Did...did you just called Tomoyo "Madison" at 9:19 ?
Woah woah woah you can just cook bacon and eggs in the same pan like that?!
yes, I've had mixed results with it though.
I remember watching Parasyte for the first time back in december because i was looking for a good horror anime, but what I ended up getting was a fantastic scifi story about humanity and its relationa to others, among other strong themes. Its a great show.
Still haven't seen any devilman.
Giving Shinichi glasses for the first half of the series was also a stroke of genius to add to his hairstyle change when he ditches it
Glad that Real Account got another shout out from you. Been a huge fan of both that and Spirit Circle ever since you first recommended them in a video like 2 years ago
Guessing marketing- Being on netflix made devilman relevant fast.
Parasyte is better though. Good shit
Easy just make a anime, and add brotherhood at the end of the title
Your philosophy regarding adaptions is the pill people gotta swallow.
Thanks for uploading today you made my day
Your video makes me remember HOW AWESOME watching Parasyte was!!!!!! Plus, after years and years, it was the anime that FINALLY got my sister interested in the topic of anime; we watched Parasyte and Death Parade, really bonding over those anime--anime has brought us closer together and it's ALL thanks to Parasyte!!!!!! :D :D :D
I'm so happy you did a video on one of my top five all time favourite anime
"You'd google it."
Show's bing search.
Literally didn't even make it through half this video before tabbing over to watch Parasyte for the first time. MB, you're great at turning me onto good anime. Thanks! (I came back to finish this vid after the 4th episode lol).
I just really love your channel😍😍😍
aw, shucks man! thanks for saying so.
OK my comment definitely felt like an ad
can you recommend some anime
not the one like naruto no shonnen please
I`m glad you finally made a video about parasyte, I love it so much.
That clip from FMA:B was not Mustang killing Lust, it was Mustang fighting Envy! I got you now, Mother's Basement! Ahahaha ha... ha. Ha.
Harlan Guthrie - It was accidentally missedited, but he didn't really have enough time to fix it before uploading. It was for a minor gag anyways, so he didn't bother with trying to change it.
Your videos are my favorite. I always come away having learned something and gaining really interesting and fresh perspective.
It's always good to modernize old works for a new generation that can get into, but at the same time not pandering to a specific audience.
Really great video. I always appreciate when you take such interesting and out of the box takes on what makes certain Anime work so well.
If only they did the same with 20th Century Boys…
i felt the live action movie was a really good adaptation
sprasle Yeah, I wonder how come there's still no Anime about that.
My first venture into manga and it blew my mind :)
Yes! Please madhouse. Also Billy Bat
sprasle
I am the only one who remembers
Pluto
Parasyte is my Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. Somebody mentions it, I've gotta rewatch it.
I started watching this show a couple days ago and I'm loving it so far. It's like, what if Death Note met Venom?
I watched Parasyte last week after watching this video and loved it! Thanks Jeff!
ViewtifulZeke Agree same way I feel Devilman which took many liberties with the manga
ViewtifulZeke could have just treated it as a reboot, new story or a spin off and still enjoy it..
It's none of those things, though.
The only reason i liked parasyte manga more than anime cause it doesnt censored the violent scenes lol
You’ve covered my 2 favorite shows in your last two videos!! Thank you very much for showing people how great both Devilman and Jojos are!
Parasyte rocks!
you said a lot of truth in this, as more and more older media get rebooted, it really shows which themes and which works are truly timeless pieces of art. Everything you said can be applied to video games, movies, older books etc. I enjoyed this video bro
One of the best parts of the second half of the show is how unrelatable the main character is, same thing with Migi, Migi feels absolutely stupid and unrelatable but that's why he's so great.
One of these days I'll actually sign up for bookwalker, but I still feel good getting to the end of most of your videos.
Parasyte is so much better than Tokyo Ghoul.
titanicww2345 what are we talking about here
I agree!
titanicww2345 i think tokyo ghoul is better as a series. The manga does a way better job than the anime of tg.
Anime yes, Manga no.
+TheSkywalker21 debatable for manga
Great video! That's some quality Parasyte talk. Now we need Eps 22-23 breakdowns.
how can i put on a portuguese subtitle? where do i click?
During this video, talking about modernization, my first thought was also about Clear Card and the use of smart phones so I'm glad you brought it up.
Yay finally im early
NOTIFICATION SQUAD PERKS!
cebolinha CLYBABY
not only a great video but also love the shout out to Gankutsou
I'm really excited to see Banana Fishs adaptation, as it was announced, it would have a modern setting (Compared to it's manga from the 80s lol)
DaveMania01 oh wow, I wasn't alone lol xD
I'm hyped too! At first the modern setting had me worried but after seeing this video I think there's a chance it'll work out really well
That slick cut of Gankutsuou when talking about foreign themes made me smile. Still the best Count of Monte Cristo adaptation ever made, and I really hope you someday do an adapt-or-die on it. It's way more ambitious than any western adaptation of the novel I've ever seen.
I dont want to live after just watching Vilot Evergarden
Tempest OOOOOOOHHHHH MMMMMMYYYYYY GGGOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDD
I dont mind spoilers but at least we can agree that the anime is great
That scene from Paranoia Agent Where suicide squad learns that they were already dead and it is a happy ending
but you used BING
I started watching parasyte again recently. Just finished it up, and as I was getting ready to go to bed (by listening to the amazing OST of course) I somehow stumbled across a video of yours I haven't seen, and a recent one at that!
Unfollow or die sounds interesting. I'm currently doing Instagram so it's strangely relatable..sorta
I bet the Nostalgia Critic and Digibro are already dead.
Thank you for another video!! ❤ Keep up the videos man! So much respect for you!
I liked Devilman Crybaby, but honestly I miss the manga’s story, setting, and most importantly, the humor
*MY FATHER’S DEAD*
Immortal Crayons
.........we all know the Eng Dub of the Devilman OVA is a goldmine....lol
I just picked up Parasyte and it's so god damn good! Thanks for the rec.
Wait Parasyte is from the 80s? Well that explains the preachy environmental message...
Just FYI it's easily in my top ten faves, I'm just saying, it gets preachy
Ethan Miller
The environmental message felt forced, unnecessary, and out of place in an otherwise amazing show.
also its lack of understanding of nonhuman animals
I'm Just getting in love with your channel cuz of this vid. Never heard of of you before but now I'm gonna watch all of ur vids from now on.
but are we gonna get a second season?
Breathtaking show from start to end. Incredibly underrated.
LOL That moment when you discover Parasyte has been around for a long time after just finishing the series on Netflix and wondering why no one is talking about it ;p
Moments that stuck with me were, well, pretty much all from the Kaiji anime. Dude I'd love it if you talked more about kaiji
I honestly never watched parasyte, maybe I should
Olive Oil its kind of boring
it's a similar style of story to Tokyo ghoul, so if you like that then you'll love parasyte
Olive Oil its really good but takes a little bit to get used to at first (well when I 1st watched it).
How can these people not appreciate something as good as Parasyte lmao
It's one of the best works of Madhouse studios, it has incredible writing, it's smart and relatable instead of being predictable and stupid like 99% of anime nowadays, it's a thought provoking story adorned with a unique soundtrack, good animations during the action scenes (as per usual with madhouse) and overall great execution.
It was a good anime, I wasn't terribly happy with the ending since I didn't find it satisfying but I was in love with the idea and most of the show
Quero aaaaaaaaaaa
Eu son galego
Your best video yet, nice job 🖤
I think Devilman did a better job at putting the universe in a mor modern setting than Parasyte
how so? It was like the same.. you think so because Miki was blogging her feelings?
alexandra galici devilman is shounen, boi
alexandra galici I thought Devilman Crybaby stepped up the character development.
Hey MB, love the show and glad to see that you're putting so much work into your videos. It really shows. Keep up the good work!
Devil Man was edgy trash. Fight me
Liable Punchline Dispenser I kinda like it but it was pretty overrated.
Liable Punchline Dispenser Devilman was edgy before edgy was cool.
i think the 1st thing to do for any adaptation is to understand why the original work is loved, then what's the essence of said work, and then (if necessary) how or what can be "updated".
now what scene stuck with me under this topic was the beginning of the new kitaro series, to put it bluntly, it was fucking brilliant
In comparison, Parasyte was just a better anime when compared to Devilman Crybaby. Everything from character and world building, believable events, tragedy and modernisation was handled better in Parasyte. Crybaby was just hyped to all hell and was more style over substance sadly.
gonzo191 one had only 12 epsiodes tho
alexandra galici devilman is a male fulfillment fantasy (from Japan which is not especially GREAT at these sort of things) so it’s obvious it’s not going to connect with what a woman actually find attractive in a man. It’s not the point.
alexandra galici also, it’s so over the top it’s hard to actually be offended by it
Agreed. Devilman Crybaby really doesn't deserve all the praise it's been receiving. Parasyte had a few downs but was overall a very good adaptation.
alexandra galici That's true Devilman Crybaby isn't a good adaptation by any means heck it tends to confuse new audience more often than not.
