Most are quite expensive. You can perfectly get a MacMini 2010, it is still the lowest power Mini of all Mini's in indle, and even the 2009 is great value for 25€. Also good deal can be had on Fujitsu thin clients. 14nm quad i5 for 75€, which makes toast of the new Raspberry Pi 5 in speed, price and power consumption.

I've got a rpi 4 acting as a "all in one" solution with docker w/ pihole and two dns servers, firewall, retrogaming -and playing a livestream 24/7 and its good enough as is.

Protip: adguard home is like 1000x better than pihole

Similar situation with me and my rpi4. The rpi4 is really quite powerful and they are very reliable (I've never had a rpi of any model die on me). Plus, they pay for themselves in no time when you factor is the $$$ you will save in electricity. Even most mini pcs will consume 10-20x as much electricity.

Do you have any links or videos regarding getting all of this setup on a single pi? This sounds incredible but I don’t know where to start.

@@blindset1988 Honestly? No. Still, Its (basically) a minimal installation under wayland (sway), with the least amount of bloat possible, resolution set at 1024x768, with zram enabled, docker, pihole (with 2x unbound), retroarch and ffplay playing the livestream through a small script that switches to a different stream when ithe stream is shut down (TH-cam does that after some time. Don't ask me why.)

Hi, awesome video.. I'm interested in building my home network with a NAS with PLEX and a web server with DNS and email support. Would you recommend doing it all in different devices or all in one? I'm thinking of getting the HP Elitedesk and just installing ubuntu on it with OMV and Apache2. What are your thoughts?

I use Intel NUC (10th Gen i7) with Apple Studio display and Apple Thunderbolt Display (Secondary Monitor), it runs Windows and macOS (Hackintosh Boat Loader) as a Champ and no overheating.

I'm a strong fan of Intel Nucs and Beelink mini PCs for 70% of people. Powerful and super easy to setup.
For gaming, extreme coding, and video editing, Miniforum UM690 and M2 Mac Mini are great!

Hi there! I enjoyed watching your video, and it was full of useful information. I'm curious to know your recommendations for a board that would be suitable for self-hosting a website, as well as any necessary software required for hosting. Could you please advise me on this?

Thanks for the comment. Are you after a board specifically? The zimaboard is great, but I'll also have a video coming up on a Protectli mini PC that would also work great! Regarding the website itself, you have to consider which CMS works best for you. One the easiest to setup and use is Wordpress. Hope that helps.
