Ukraine cannot defeat Russia now, but victory by 2025 is possible with increased Western support, according to retired British General Richard Barrons, who previously commanded the Kingdom's Joint Forces.
"The current Ukrainian counter-offensive will not dislodge Russia - although no one expected it. It is also unlikely to halve the area of occupation before the onset of winter, which could be one of the most optimistic goals," Barrons writes in a column for the Financial Times.
He calls the progress of the AFU in the south "modest" and writes that it is about eight miles (12 kilometers). Before reaching the sea, there was still 55 miles (88 kilometers) left to go through three lines of defense (here, probably, the general indicated the path in a straight line to the nearest point on the Sea of Azov).

ammunition production expansion wont even match what ukraine is using now and that wont see fruition for a long time either.
f16's are likely to never arrive and even if they did would have so much weight on them now that ukraines out of ammo for its soviet air defense systems that how is ukraine going to keep going?

We told ukronotzee command not to use Challenger tanks near the front because their demolition would be embarrassing to Britain as dozens of wrecked leopards were to Germany. The one thing he claims is probably not so correct, which is that the F-16s will be a game changer. Any of the knowledgeable military experts who specialize in air combat are warning against believing that they will be the golden ticket to Ukrainian victory. Several factors at play, first being it is highly contested airspace bristling with MANPADs and SAM systems, not to mention hostile aircraft so it is still a very high-risk environment. Also, the F-16 requires a well maintained runway as the air scoop is below the fuselage which means that rough runways that some aircraft can accommodate are not possible with the F-16, and the runways *must* be kept clean or the engine will Hoover up debris and be destroyed. The airfields where those will potentially be stationed will already have targeting information loaded into Russian missiles. I’m very happy that Ukraine will be equipped with them, but they won’t break things open, their main role will be to provide good support for ground forces, with occasional long range strikes at very high value targets when the risk/reward is favourable.
I recommend watching the Ward Carrol channel, especially his interviews with Justin Bronk who is an internationally renowned expert on modern warfare and weapons systems, the clarity and sobriety of his evaluations are really well worth spending time listening to.

The only thing that needs to be done in this case is increasing production to keep the stategic reserve numbers up, sending the older ammo to Ukraine is actually saving money in the long run while boosting the economy due to more jobs available. US ammo factories are problably not even running at full production levels to keep stock levels.

@Sami: According to the blurb just below the video title, the Ukrainians have achieved "something that looks like a breakthrough." So, although it's not actually a breakthrough, it does look very much like a breakthrough. This will then lead to something that looks absolutely nothing like a rout of Putin's forces.

They know that the Motherland has been attacked by a western armed and funded force, that the west is not interested in peace, that NATO is bent on their destruction, on breaking Russia up into puppet states and looting their resources. That is the US Neocon plan, to then allow them to turn on China. The Russians will never allow that to happen, if they have to fight to the last man. Russia has survived for more than 1,000 years, NATO isn't going to beat them.

Ukraine confirmed the deaths of 400,000 soldiers
The Ukrainian army's losses during the conflict exceeded the American losses in the Second World War, a former Pentagon adviser, Colonel Douglas McGregor, has said.
In his video blog on TH-cam, he drew attention to the fact that during an SMS campaign, the Ukrainian operator Kyivstar launched a phrase that 400,000 AFU fighters "will never answer the phone again".
"People are finally saying to me, 'You know, McGregor, you were right. 400,000 Ukrainian armed forces soldiers died." The Ukrainians themselves casually confirmed this, saying they should pay tribute to the dead. They mentioned the same number - 400,000 servicemen," the colonel emphasised.
