    I used this style of teeth for many years then I switched to greenteeth. I wished someone had told me about them sooner. So I'm telling you to try them. It's amazing how much better they work.

      I'm sure they're better but a set of those with the pockets and the bolts cost nearly what I paid for the machine, see my stump grinding videos to see what I normally use for stumps, this little machine is only a backup machine or to get in a 36" gate. Thanks for watching.

    Love your channel. Can you go over your rayco and tell problems, week points, what to watch for problems etc. thanks a million!

      Thanks for the comment. I can't think of any weak spots on the machine at the moment that would be any different from any other machine the same size. I'm not happy with the trailer design, although it is designed to be able to back up the tow vehicle and trailer to the stump and grind a stump without unloading the machine. as with any stump grinder, watch for concrete, rocks, and dog chains grown into the tree, that will damage the teeth, and when there are small rocks at the stump, they can be thrown pretty hard at cars or windows etc. I'll do some videos on stump grinding when I get a chance.

    Great video, thanks for showing this in detail. Quick question: is it crucial to grind the flat edge of the tooth? I have been grinding the sides but haven't been hitting the top thinking that the edge was enough however they still seem a bit dull. Thanks,

    What grit grinding wheel is the green carbide wheel?

  • @newstart49
    @newstart49 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know nothing of stump grinders, but have a question or two since I do sharpen a lot of SS and carbide tooling and cutters.
    1. If you sharpen only a few of the teeth, that would leave some teeth longer- wouldn't the longer teeth be doing almost all of the work, making them wear more quickly?
    2. How far can you grind the backing for the tooth holder before it would need replacing? Can you weld up a new backing?

      Since they cut from the side, swinging from left to right and then lowering or advancing forward a couple inches at a time, the length of the teeth doesn't really matter. You can see it in action in my video playlist on digging and stump grinding. Here's a link to one of the videos. Thanks for watching. th-cam.com/video/hA2oBee4Vgg/w-d-xo.html

    What about the CBN carbon boron nitride wheels

    Thank you. How many times can you sharpen these teeth and when do you know there’s no sharpening left?
    Also my 1625A super junior has real trouble climbing small inclines. Seems like an issue with the drive system. Any ideas?

      It has a wheel locking system you might not have it engaged

      Check your drive wheels and you’ll find a thing you can and flip the lock system and see if it helps.

    I also have a rayco grinder and know how expensive the teeth are, I found a company out of Washington that sells the carbide tips for the supertooth for 3 dollars and their pre tined, easily changed if you have a torch. If your interested I can email you the info. They actually sent me 3 free ones to try out.

      Could you pass the email address for the cheaper teeth from China please, also try CBN cubic boron nitride wheels, these are nearly as hard as diamond and recommended to sharpen very hard tools like tool steel, carbide ect...

    looking for information on the grade of carbide used on stump grinders... could get inserts from work we use a lot of c5 will that work for stump grinding as for longevity or will I be wasting my time?

    • @57bagre
      @57bagre 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Inserts are held in with clamps on machine tools, these carbides are welded on with brass (brazed) I don't see how it would work.

      That's what I use to touch mine up with. Put it on my angle grinder and touch them up without taking them off the machine. Found some cheap Chinese ones on eBay they work pretty good.

      @@scottpeck1149 a bit of both, the secret is to not let it get too blunt.... I've gone over to green teeth now... Superior teeth easier to change less kick back. Nice dish shape tooth. Just get cheap Chinese copies... Same difference
