Hi Jon and Dolly :), I am glad that you enjoy Ragnarok. You know that guy in the song was Odin, the one-eyed main god, and it was said that with his death Ragnarok will come, but if someone else becomes a one-eyed god then maybe Ragnarok will come another time :).
It´s filmed in Norway (Aurland, Sognefjord, Jotunheimen), Orlické hory (maybe Eagle mountain) in Czech Republic and in "Land of Celts" Nasavrky (same place as Lughnasad) :)
In norse mythology, the godfather Odin gives an eye for wisdom. He dies in Ragnarok, which is commonly known as the end of the world but it is actually a rebirth. The gods kill each other and the nine worlds as they were get destroyed, but a man and a woman (human) and some of the minor gods survive to rebuild the world. Now in this context it would make sense to have the new chief god to also gain the wisdom and foresight Odin had, which as we have already established is achieved by giving your eye.
