Portuguese midfielder Diogo Paiva was scouted from our trial in West London in December 2017.
Diogo was invited for a trial at Cheshunt FC, who play in the Isthmian League North Division.
Having grown up in Portugal, he spent 9 years at Vitoria Setubal's academy, a top-flight Portuguese club, before he was released last year.
In the search of a new club in England, Diogo booked a UK Football Trial and here you can see an analysis of his impressive performance in the trial match.

You can be flashy, you can have a good shot, you can have great dribbling but the fact that he had so much room to receive the ball twice and always was an option to pass multiple times truly shows his football iq. You can be good on the ball but if you’re bad off the ball then what’s the point of being good on the ball. I could def see him as a holding midfielder, especially one who can pull players out of position and elude a high press

you guys should lower the price for a trial i think you would get more people.
We sell out all of our trials currently, and unfortunately we have to have the fees as they are in order to pay the coaches and many, many scouts who are there watching you! We never charge more than £99 for a trial

So who’s going to pay for the scouts time, room and flight, staff, field rental, coaches time, marketing and advertisement, football gear and equipments...? Every club is first a business, you need to make sure everything is accommodating to all parties while making money to stay in business. As a player you provide a service, you invest in yourself and the outcome would hopefully to get a contract with a club. Especially having several scouts, it’s not cheap.

Yes he got scouted - a good player AND a great attitude most importantly. Great you're so confident - come and prove what you can do. This was after 1 hour 40 minutes of intensive training, so players are all a bit tired and have worked incredibly hard by this stage too. We hope to see you at an event.

whats the oldest player thats ever been scouted at one of these trials?
There have been occasions where we have players in their mid to late twenties who get scouted! Just last month there was a 26-year-old who got scouted by Torquay United and played a friendly for the first team!

Dear UK football trials,
Im 12 and have been playing football for about 6 years. I was hoping to go to a trail to see if Im good enough for League 2 level of academy because i am a ST/CAM player and Im pretty fast. The sad thing is that i cant find any trials near Blackpool even though im happy to pay £100+. Where is the closest trial area near Blackpool Highfield Pub area?

How can i come to trails im from Pakistan
UK Government law requires that you have a European Union passport that you get from being born in Europe. The only other way is if you play 75% of the time for your mens national team - potentially that helps get an exceptional talent visa. Do any of the scouts go to any local clubs for kids or just scout when there are events?
usually scouts from bigger teams only go to events like this because it gives them a better pool of players to choose from. they know anybody who turns up for an event like this is serious about progressing their football career so will probably be a better prospect. youd be suprised though, you can find scouts just lurking about at local clubs because somebody recommended they come watch a specific player or they have a family member playing in that area. Ive ran into a good amount of scouts in low tier non-league teams matches and training.

5 day camp or the one day camp?
At both the camp and the trials you will be watched by a whole host of scouts, so that won't really change. However at the camp you will have 4 days of expert training and preparation before the trials to give you the best chance!

What hapen after you are being scouted?
If you're scouted by a club they might then invite you for a trial at their training ground or academy to assess you further. If that all goes well, the bets outcome could be that they offer to sign you!

Hi - players need and EU Passport to play pro here in the UK or they are the best national team players who can sometimes qualify for a very limited number of exceptional talent visas. Unless you have a family member who is EU based or has a passport, you can come for the experience (Like the 5 day training and trial camps we run) but unfortunately you won't get scouted.

Hi, unfortunately we can't send scouts to Barbados to watch a player they've never seen before. They will sometimes go to watch a player again if they've already seen them at our trials once, however they normally only travel UK wide.

Is more about reading the game, the speed of play and how you adapt. You could have scored 20 and still not go thought they don't care about the goals AT ALL
