I was born and raised there, it was a great place e to grow up . But , a bit depressing now . I left in 1997 , went back formy 50 class reunion from Joliet Twp.High School. That is one of the highlights of Joliet, the building is spectacular. Of course the Rialto Theater is another.
Thanks American Views. Lived there my first 12 years and still have Family there. I for one am glad the area in your drive hasn't changed much. Wish it was what it was earlier but time passes.
Grew up in nearby Romeoville, graduated in 1997 and moved away shortly thereafter. Know these roads well - and it all looks as gloomy and depressing as I remember. :(
One time my friend went to pickup his brother @ Midway airport and took Stevenson to us 30 Aurora/ Joliet brother thought TOILET now we call it JOILET 😂

Fell in love with the Cathedral Area enough that I had to buy a house. I enjoy this city, bums and all.
Joliet is an old working class city home to thousands of good people living their lives.

Broadway Street (53)
the gangs have taken over again here😢
Unless you're looking for a sleazy auto repair shop that's gonna overcharge the shit out of you, I'd give this garbage city a hard pass.
