I might have been a little bit disappointed at first, because of how different it is from the album version but now I get what the song is like to her. A very versatile one with endless possibilities. With this mindset, the live version is beyond wonderful. Björk, why can’t you ever be bad ? Why must you be so good ? 😂
she sounds like she’s getting wonderfully lost in this song. seems like a cool one that can be different every time since it has so many different vocal melodies throughout. it’s like a poem performance piece.
true but on Vulnicura some of those vocal layering really struck me as something she's never quite done before. there is hardly any "hit" on Vulnicura (except Stonemilker and Lionsong somewhat) but some of those song structures and arrangements are damn fascinating.
Karel Zich i also think she started having a new interpretation of her own voice with vulnicura. the vocal layering on vulnicura and utopia sounds fractured and crazy and very abstract, and then when Saint comes on, all of those layers almost sound on top of each other, as if they found each other again.. she has so many narrative nuances in her work it’s incredible.
I think she plan to record and sell her live version soon. As I can hear right now, the live version of every song is even better. She always impress me

I agree. I love hearing her sing in the original key. Her voice is still powerful in the higher register. I get that she's probably trying to conserve her voice for the tour by singing in a lower key.
yes i think that she thinks we are waitin for the same sound as we had with the studio album, so she guives another shape to it, and i believe she dont like to be repetitive so she breaks this espectation for the same reprodution
arisen doesn't neccesarily follow a lyric pattern imo, its just lines repeated. if there weren't vocals in the background and it was still bjork singing live i think it would sound fine

she's got tons of songs lately where she beautifully plays with vocal layers - Lionsong, Family, Mouth Mantra...
Karel Zich she started playing with looped vocals since Homogenic but she’s never really made a song like this vocal melody wise.
