    First off, great videos, very helpful. I was wondering what you do when your dog doesn’t respond to the vibration.
    Thanks,

    I have a 5 and a half month old yellow lab, and she does really well with basic commands. I just tried to start collar conditioning with this method, but when I held the vibrate down and told her to come she freaked out and ran away from me, ran in circles, clawed at her collar, and then piddled on the floor. She’s been acting pretty freaked out since and seems hesitant to answer commands now. Any ideas as to how I can get her used to the collar?

    Came here to specifically ask about the last thing Kat said so thank you! Also love the term “drive-by” 😂 since I get a lot of those outside when the zoomies are happening. At 5 months, how much does Trix weigh?

    After you train with the collar conditioning, will you always have to use it?

    I just got my first GSP! She is 5 months old with no training except being house broken and kennel broken. When would you start an e-collar?

    Was working on recall at the dog park - wanted the distractions - with the collar. Vibrate only and some clown started yelling at me. Made a total scene to the point I had to leave.

    What brushes do you use on your gsp's?

    • @StandingStoneKennels
      @StandingStoneKennels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      None... but sometimes we will use a silicone bristled glove to pet them! Gets a little bit of the dead hair out and massages their skin!

    Have you ever had a pup that doesn’t do well with the vibrate? My 6 mo old loses her little mind if I use vibrate and starts running around like a maniac.

  • @DrDaleHubbardPhD

    The dog comes to you mainly out of fear due to collar conditioning (uncomfortable sensation) There are more effective means (Positive Reinforcement)

      Fear of vibrate?!? No. the vibrate is a close contact way so that the dog knows exactly what is expected of it.
