i used to have a sebright hen, she lived something like 7 years, she got killed one night by some predator, she was like the one on the video. Today i bought 11 3 days old chicks of many breeds and among them there is a little sebright. nice to have a sebright again
What a bizarre looking breed. misterbeefy33 actually summed up my impression of how they look- like a cross between a turkey and a farmyard chicken. :)
I want a pair for house pets. They look smaller than an African Gray parrot... And even though the little rooster crows. Still a lot quieter than a parrot...
I'm pretty sure you can do this. Just because the hen has hit menopause(essentially) it shouldn't affect the edibility of her flesh. Just make sure she's healthy before you choose to eat her. :)
Can I eat their egg's and eat the hens when they are old? Also... can I eat the rooster when he is finished and is of old age. During this transition can I then introduce a new younger hen(s) and a new rooster to the lot, after I have consumed the old batch in their complete entirety? Are they tender to eat (consume)?
I just asked a simple question... I am a black man that loves chicken. In fact.. 84% of my diet is bird of some sort. I need to know if I completely exhaust these birds egg and chick hatching properties can I then consume them for meat? Most of the bird will be eaten and the feet will be used for stock and delicious curry's. When the female shows signs of aging and has exhausted her physical means of egg laying then I will eat her before she too passes. Is this a bad thing??
Beautiful! I used to have a female but our stupid neighbor's stole her. I see her everyday in their coop and I get so mad. I keep telling my mom that they have our chicken but she doesn't believe me
such proud little guys and gals I love the tail feathers all my Hens are heavy breeds except for my little silkies but the big ones definitely don't have the character the little doods have

I am not an expert, but they look stressed in that cage with all the other birds around. Please give them some cover and a little privacy
