    After years of trying to meditate, yesterday was the first time I ever felt like I was truly meditating and I just did it again today while listening to this video. I feel like I'm high or something from meditating. Powerful stuff!

    Finally, someone's thoughts are in harmony with his physical appearance and aura. You seem to have a strong personality and this is why it is easy to take you serious when you speak about mindfulness.

    It was for me. I started out with back pain from an old injury. Was determined to meditate but couldn't sit up for long enough unsupported. So I began lying down. Just do whatever you can to meditate. Of course you then run the risk of falling asleep which you really don't want to do. I started doing yoga and weights to build core strength, and eventually could sit meditating for about three hours. Fixed the back pain for the most part too. Bad posture is a health hazard.

    What a great lesson. My wife and i have been talking about this for months and I happened to stumble across this How to Meditate video. After 10 minutes, I feel much more relaxed. I do believe I will start doing this every day. Thank you.

    thank you so much for this. my friends have been wanting to try Yoga and mediation and I just needed to stop and do it this morning. I found you and I loved it. I personally loved your accent as it made me hear you newly and not with an American English accent, which I'm used to. I love how gentle you are and how much work you surely did to get yourself to this place where you can share your self and your work. I'm subscribed now so can't wait for your next video. Thank you again!!

    Thanks, I needed that, I carry an anxious ball around in my gut, and I hope with practice I can rid myself of it. It has led to drug and alcohol problems, but finally at the age of 49, i'm not dependent, but the anxiety and IBS coupled with depression is still there, so I hope I can master this, and start having some quality life, before its to late. I say again thankyou. peace

      You're welcome. Thanks for commenting. If you keep at it, keep meditating you'll have some great results. BTW, have you looked into GAPS to help with the IBS? Look it up and let me know what you think. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it. All the best.

    Hi Rob, thanks for the feedback. When the sun shines on my lounge windows they expand in their frames. Sounds like banging and creaking! Breathe through it and accept it as happening now. I left it in because there was no other time to shoot, so it is what it is :-) I don't have anything on TM, but I have read it can be great. David Lynch recommends it highly.

    This is a really good video. It's crazy how fully relaxed you can become. And there is a lot of background noise (it sounds like someone is putting groceries away or something) but you teach us how to breathe it away which is why I'm figuring you left it in? Thank you for this, I'm enjoying doing it every day. Do you have anything on transcendental meditation, which is what I want to learn next?

    I just want to share how i feel after it and see if you can shed any light on the reasons for the outcome.
    I followed your instruction as best i could, a very quiet space so i feel i did well to stay with you. As i was meditating I was very aware of how much I felt the urge to just start to laugh, I suppressed it but it was something that stood out, is this a natural thing to happen?

  • @AccelerateMe
    @AccelerateMe  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks! Yeah, this is completely normal in the beginning. The mind (which doesn't want to be mastered) throws up all kinds of distractions to thwart you from doing so. Acknowledging them is a great thing to do. And of course, if you really do have an itch, just scratch it ;-) But if they are false, just become aware then then dissolve the sensation, just breathe it away.

    Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work! Someone asked whether this was TM; the answer is no. Learning to meditate should be free! There are an unlimited ways to meditate. The aim to quiet your mind by focusing on one subject (e.g., your breathing, a mantra, affirmation, etc.). Whatever way works best for you is the best way to meditate. There isn't a wrong or right way. The results are always very profound and powerful. When I started I've tried many techniques and found that repeating a personal affirmation worked best for me. Eventually I was able to get into a meditative state without the affirmation at any given moment. Peace.

      +Eshtiak Dewan Thank you for watching. Best time is any time you can really, just make sure it's daily. For me the ideal time would be an hour before lunch, but because my schedule doesn't make the possible, I go for the early morning. Experiment to find works best for you, but earlier in the day is better (makes the rest of the day so much better).

    It's an easy thing to do. The body is triggered to fall asleep when it's relaxed. Sitting a little more upright than usual helps, and then the rest is just practice :) But the rewards are massive.

    This video is excellent!
    I do have a question, though - I have OCD and I have a tendency, when trying to keep still or meditation, to become acutely aware of various itches. I try to ignore them, but that seems to magnify them. I try to simply acknowledge them, but that doesn't help, either. I know this is probably entirely psychological, but knowing that doesn't seem to make any difference. Any suggestions?

      Hey Suzy Owens-Olson, yes most people will start to feel a 'difference' within about two weeks. It all depends on your brain, your ego, your connection with your own body. Each time you open up a little more, slowly awakening to who you really are. Be patient, discard expectations, and enjoy it. Thanks for watching!

    Hey AM, first of all thanx for the video and secondly what do I need to think when I close my eyes? Do I need to think about my thoughts that brought negative effects?

    • @AccelerateMe
      @AccelerateMe  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Talha BoSSnian you don't need to think about anything. Just follow along with my voice on the video. When meditation by yourself, simply bring your awareness to the breath. When you find yourself thinking a thought, notice it and allow it to pass and return to the breath. Practice, practice, practice.

    This method seems to work for me quite well while lying flat on my back. Sleep is definitely a hazard though.

    Hi thank you for this. Sometimes I have noises in my house when I am up alone, the sound of the clock, the neighbors car door, etc. would it be okay to have ocean sounds playing in my ear to drown out noise to help me focus?

    • @AccelerateMe
      @AccelerateMe  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kim McDan, you can certainly do that while you get started. But you should use the environment to deepen your meditation, don't try to block it out.

    Great video, thank you. I added to my favourites. Is it a good idea also to thank the organs one by one for their great service to us as we go along around the body? I read something like that could be helpful.

    • @y.l.prestol2656
      @y.l.prestol2656 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, absolutely, unity, sure. But you can pay attention and say thank you to each separately, like members of a team. This could make the rest offended, though, if you do not mention them...I see your point...hm...I don’t know, I just read this somewhere and decide to offer this here...I tried and think its works, by the way....
