@@strbourne Well said, him even being on this video is a waste of time, writing "it's a waste of time" to a stranger on a comment section is a waste of time. Hypocrisy at its finest
This. I think they're a little too wide now (there should at least be a variety), but it's still much better than before when rivers would be extremely broken up, and you'd have to do extensive terraforming to make them useful means of travel... and I mean, I don't travel on my rivers, but I want them to be travelable for narrative purposes. I've got this entire area that's based on waterborne trade. Everything hereafter is a ton of text about my world, and if you don't care, don't read further, lol. First off, it started with a mansion which was the main base I used for the longest time. It was the second main base after the starter house, and you can get to it almost entirely by land (horse was my best mode of transport at the time), with a short boat ride after. It's built on the edge of an old mountain plateau over a river surrounded by swamp on one side and dark forest on another. That river extends around the mountain area, but it also branches, over a body of water, into a river that goes out into an ocean. Over time I built more things in this area: a giant mushroom house inhabited by druids, a witch farm in the swamp. I also decided to build a farming area on the peninsula-type area across the water from the mansion to supply the mansion with food. Practically, it's got a bunch of micro-farms hidden in various buildings, and the rest is aesthetic. The town is called Haventown, btw. During a good week I had off, I decided to tackle adding a slime farm. There was a good area with adjacent slime chunks near the mansion under some hilly birch forest area beside Haventown, so I built the farm... then I decided to make it into an entire area... I decided it would be fun if, narratively, the slime was extracted in mines, so was born Slime Hills. This area connects by a path, across a bridge over the river, to Haventown. It consists of several mines filled with slime, and armor stand (inspired by Cleo's work) miners. There's even a special slime mine that extracts golden slime (honey... though there isn't a honey farm here). There's also a building where all the slime from the real farm gets shot up into a storage system so I don't have to go down into the farm, as well as a watch tower on the tallest hill. Additionally, if you follow a path down through a cave, you'll reach a dock where slime from the mines, as well as magical ingredients from the witches and druids are being loaded onto a barge to carry them out down the river, onto the ocean for trade. There are armor stands around the entire area, also: on the watch tower, walking to and from the mines, pulling carts of slime, on the barge, etc. Of course, there has to be somewhere on the ocean for them to trade to... and there's really only one proper area for this so far. For a while I was having fun rebuilding villages with different styles. One of them I rebuilt was a coastal village that's just across from where the river meets the ocean, that I decided would be in the middle of tiering up, having recently become a stopover for trade, which brought a bunch of money into what was before a simple fishing village. This means they get a fancy dock suitable for handling larger ships (which one is docked loaded with cargo), a big tavern/inn for sailors to stay at, an impressive church (with crypts underneath that have several passages into caves below), and a nice town hall. If you venture into the town hall's basement, you'll find the town leadership is secretly a necromancer cult... and also that there's a secret passage from the town hall down under the blacksmith's place so people and goods can be moved in and out without drawing so much attention. I also rebuilt all the buildings as more interesting rounded huts and shacks, built farms, custom trees, etc. The village was also an area for turtles, which I bred a bunch, so it's now Turtle Village. The idea is the barge stops over here, and larger ships carry the supplies to destinations afar. I also eventually decided to make a proper road connecting the starter base area with Haventown, which is, iirc, around 1000 blocks long. The road curves in and around the terrain nicely, and has both functional and non-functional aspects. Functionally, it makes flying by elytra between them easy, as well as connecting to both my giant flying machine bamboo farm, and my wool farm. Non-functionally, it'll connect these two areas, and I've started building a walled town (the wall is the only thing built, lol), and a farming area around it (only a few of those buildings got built before my interest passed elsewhere for a while). The starter house is also basically at world spawn, and there's a minigame carnival area just far enough away from it to not be in the spawn chunks, where I've built a half dozenish different games, most of which are taken from Hermitcraft (some of cubs games from last season, leaf spleef from this one), though some are original (an armor-stand based competitive shoot em out game, and an armor-stand based competitive checkers-like game inspired by zedaph's golf experiments from last season, but with an additional card-mechanic, where each turn you try to draw a "card" from your "deck" that lets you do a special move, although you won't always get one every turn). I also have a smoothstone spleef game in the area I'm going to mention next from long before this season. And that next area is that I also intended to build a dwarf fortress (lol?) that exits onto the river between the druids and the mansion, but I never got very far. I built the gate house, entry room, and the barracks and armory beneath it to secure them, but I never built anything further in, although I did branch off under there to build that big spleef game, with a really nice looking room that I'm still very proud of the look of. The last thing nearish the mansion is an in-progress recreation of the Black Bulls' base from Black Clover. I recreated everything as well as I could on the outside from every picture I could find of it, but then improvised the rest. I got started on the interior, doing much of the entry room to their base, but beyond that I stalled out because in-canon all the rooms move around, and trying to layout that mess of a structure is more effort than I'd like. The base is located in some dark forest across the swamp from the mansion (so in the opposite direction from the druids), but it's entered from the other direction. Conveniently, there's another village I have a base in in that direction... a spruce village. I wanted to have a base there, and did my best to have it follow the style of the existing structures. It turned out pretty great, imo, but I don't really spend any time there anymore. This was pretty early on. I also expanded their farms, and added a flower field with "bees." The bees are just bee-textured heads because this was before bees were added to the game. The intent is I'll connect this village via pathway to the Bulls' base, and then up to the road connecting the starter house with Haventown. I also stalled out recreating the Thousand Sunny from One Piece as faithfully as I could. I had already completed the Going Merry, and oh boy was that tedious, but the Sunny is much larger and I just had had enough. Both of them are off the coast of Turtle Village. There are a ton of other areas in this world: a 1000x1000 post-apocalyptic sci-fi nuclear-winter type area, complete with giant dome city, experimental laser weapons, missile silos, railway, road network, ruined city, nuclear power plant, factory, disabled mechs, massive harbor area, etc... oh, and my first ever attempt at building a mountain in Minecraft... it's still a work in progress, because it's a 300 block long mountain chain, and I've already spent dozens of hours on it, lol... but it's maybe 1/3 to 1/2 done, a giant pyramid base inspired by cubfan's from last season (current main base), with the first proper storage system I've built (and a massive one at that... it takes like 10 minutes for items to flow through it) and entire Christmas Town area with multiple entire districts, including mines, a lumber camp, a foundry, a giant factory to make all Santa's toys, housing for all these works, a town center with shops, a giant christmas tree, a path off to a christmas tree farm and a skating lake, a 1000+ block nature path through the woods nearby, etc. For some reason this is where my actual honey farm is, lol, though it's hidden under the town square in a bunker type area, where the bees get pollen in a giant room with a blue concrete sky and grass and all that. There's also Santa's house, stables for the reindeer, sleighs, a runway, and a giant snow and ice mansion built adjacent to the town called "Frost Mansion," because Jack Frost lives there. Also he's rich, and is the funding behind the whole operation... FOR NEFARIOUS PURPOSES?!?!?! maybe, maybe not, i dunno. He does have a banging giant mansion though. Oh, also under the town square there's music boxes set up to play we wish you a merry christmas on loop if you toggle it on. There's also armor stand and command-block based christmas lights around town, a north pole, giant candy canes, a giant snowman that has a snow farm inside, etc. There's also a ton of small houses that have been used as temporary bases as I've played. All of these could be connected over time, but really don't necessarily fit into the narrative for me, so they haven't been.
Here’s the secret: no one with more than 100k subs on TH-cam is gonna be the “redstone God.” Once you start putting work into your TH-cam channel, you lose time you could spend practicing redstone. The real “redstone god” is probably someone none of us have heard of whose only public presence is a TH-cam channel with 50 subs and occasional messages in an obscure discord server for redstoners. People like mumbo, etho, ilmango, etc. are obviously very skilled at redstone, but there’s probably tons of people none of us have heard of that can equal or surpass their skills.

Mumbo has evolved in the best way possible! Being excited about pretty building does not detract from knowledge of Logic and Redstone! One can be good at both!
I’ll be honest: while I absolutely loved this video, I kind of wanted to see the process of Mumbo actually doing the redstone and not just being like “I did it, now lets move on.” I want to be clear again: I loved everything about this video, and it was absolutely fantastic; I just would have loved to see the redstone problem-solving process.
I kinda agree with you, but I think there's an explanation to it. The contraptions that Mumbo built in this video aren't complicated or strange, they don't use obscure mechanics and they don't have to fit into a particularly small space. No real challenge means nothing to show really when doing redstone since it would look more like a tutorial than a Mumbo's redstone video. (With "simple" here I mean for him, as in he just builds it without complications) I'm not disagreeing with you here, it's just a possible explanation I came out with
So mumbo deleted the previous video becouse it was cut off at 18:31 ish. There probably was a problem with the editing so he deleted the video to fix it and upload the fixed version. No problem :)
Mumbo, for some reason I have loved all the Peace, Love and Plants you do in Hermitcraft and I've just subconsciously been doing that in my own SMP. I've also followed a lot of your redstone tutorials, and I know this one will be a banger!

There's a book series called The Kane Chronicles. It's written by the same author of the Percy Jackson series. It's about Egyptian Mythology and magic. In the series, there this magical minion called the Brooklyn House. I think it would be really cool to see you build it in Minecraft. You could do lots of cool Redstone things with it (for example, the door tot he minion opens in a fun way where you don't touch it in the books). There's very (and I mean very) basic blueprints you can find online, as well as some pictures from the graphic novel you could use as a base for the overall feel of the build. I think it would be cool to see a magical mansion come to life with your Redstone builds and ideas. You could do lots of creative things with it.
Just from the house building alone I would love to see him build a mansion focusing strictly on the building and the only redstone that can be used are ones for lighting and aesthetics.
