Hi, Holly.
A few years ago, I joined a workshop which was about writing short stories, not entire novels.
The instructor, who was a retired French Literature teacher from a local Quebec CEGEP, gave us students great tools for enhancing our own creativity, in order to specifically write short stories.
I think the same principles she taught us apply to writing popular music songs, not for composing drawn out complex classical music.
I mostly thought of night-time spooky short stories. The workshop was a lot of fun.
At any rate, there was no AI contribution at all. We were just 6 people exchanging ideas for short stories.
BTW, have you ever spent the night in a real cemetery?

I haven’t been “in touch” with NaNo in a few years, but… hearing about the AI integration is a disappointment. Thanks for bringing something new to the fore supporting creators once more. I hope it takes off!

This is fantastic! I was so disappointed to lose the community and focus of Nano. I love the different challenges, but especially love the writing sprints with others; to me, that was the magic of Nano, and I'm so happy to find an alternative. Can't wait to join!

I do think AI is a tool to be helpful, (like a dictionary, thesaurus, google ect.) but should not be used fully by itself.

Human writers good, A.I. baaaaaad.
Humans have been using editors and ghost-writers to improve their writing for years upon years. Just because some lazy writers will use A.I. to produce books doesn't mean they'll be any better than the work of other writers. The market is flooded, either way.
Just write for the love of writing and don't worry about A.I.
