@@marshmallowpanda123 in a way its a new genre, because its not really just UK garage/jungle, it has that beat but it also has weird contemporary pop elements especially her naive feeling powerpuff shy voice (I mean that in the best way possible). I don't think this specific sound was ever done before. The closest music I can think of to this is Erica de Casier's "Intimate - club mix" with DJ sports, and ofc any old school jungle tracks but tbh when you go back and listen to that stuff, it just has the fast drums but none of these new synths and innovative ways of mixing stuff. Just like how Burial's music is considered jungle/garage but it actually sounds completely different from the original music genre that he is riffing off.
It's that jazzy drum and bass backdrop that lends itself so well to support her voice.
