Cheers everyone for the feedback to my question - it's much appreciated. & I'd just like to say thanks for all your continued support over the last five years.
Jason I watch all of your videos religiously. Your question with the GoPro I think it’s still very good quality, the changes between the cameras aren’t massively dramatic, but yeah overall use what your most comfortable with at the time. Cant wait for your summer adventures, will be watching the journey with you!
Hello! I just wanted to say that you can feel free to choose whichever camera works for your situation. The M50 is wow quality, but of course it’s not always practical. The go pro is just fine and I like the wide angle too. If you didn’t mention it I probably wouldn’t have noticed!
Larnaca is always the best place to start with Cyprus. Cozy and so accessible to the rest of the areas, before you dive into Nicosia and the leafy green countryside around Pathos.
Hi nice blog, just like to correct you on the Medieval castle of Larnaca (fort) it was not built by the Turks but by the Lusignans between 1382-1398AD,the Ottomans arrived on the island in 1571
As a Cypriot woman, I genuinely appreciate you using the right term to describe the situation in my country. Not many people know that only Turkey recognizes the occupied area as Turkish, so this is very respectful towards our ancestors 🙏🏻
He described the two sides as “Greek” and “Turkish” though which is wrong. If we say that the occupied area is “Turkish” this further divides the country and makes the situation permanent.
Great video Jason, love Greek Cypriots, I actually got married in Aya Nappa back in 1999. The Greek Cypriots are the friendliest people worldwide, met a family where the husband fought in the 1974 war with Turkey. Looking forward to seeing Nicosia again, arriving to a hotel in the middle of the night was quite eye opening, seeing the Turkish flag lit up on the mountainside. Not a nice thing to do really.
The GoPro cameras are now far better than their earlier models, and my camera of choice for all my vlogs. Just small enough to fit in my handbag and relatively unobtrusive when filming. Much easier to manage, so keep using yours as the vlogs you produce are sogood and enjoyable to watch. Thank you for making them.
The remains of St Lazarus are still in the church. You walked by them. They are under glass near the front to the right. There is also an ancient crypt under the church.
great video , i live in agia napa ,and previously larnaca . larnaca is a lovely town , i'm glad you liked it . have lived in cyprus 19yrs , keep the videos coming , love them
The sound and quality of the GoPro are fine. I appreciate the videos you shot with it that may not have been possible with your larger camera. Thanks for all that you do!😊
Lovely Video Jason. No problem filming with the Go pro. The result Always Fine.Your reason explained Very well. Super Excited to see more of Cyprus. Safe travels.☘✌.
Jason thank you for your video! :) Really enjoyed seeing the sights you showed in Cypress! :) I agree with all your thoughts on your cameras :) --- I like the GoPro although I do prefer it without the "fish bowl" effect :) --- I agree that using your higher quality camera to film certain structures and scenery is a good choice :) I like watching everything you film and everything you present has good quality :) I look forward to watching your next video showing the Greek side and the Turkish side of Nicosia :) Thank you! :) Cheers! :)
I like the video but I think you should shoot in 4k. Rather than 1080p. This will greatly improve your videos with your GoPro! Loving your videos man 👍👍
I only have a GoPro Hero 9 that I use for my channel, mainly because that's what I could afford, but it's worked great for me so far. I've made better videos than I thought I could with it and the pros outweigh the cons. Yes the sound could be better (I do have a media mod on my GoPro to help with that) and it doesn't really zoom, which sometimes can be unfortunate. But otherwise it's great, and it's small size & lightness makes it easy to travel with.
wow im from philippines and i love to vlogs corner to corner here in cyprus there a lots of interesting places, the most intereting are the castles some others are distoryed by the wars and parts they repair to stay remain for ruins i love to roam around to have vlogs, ive bee in lebanon for 5years also last 2004 up to 2009
Loving your content, as always, I think the GoPro is fine, the only thing you need to watch is the speed you pan. Some times you pan a bit too fast and we miss things. Otherwise it is great and keep on keeping on. Can’t wait for you next vid.
Hi Jason your videos are great with yhe GoPro video camera. And the views areclear and crisp so the audio is really good too. Larnaca is a beautiful quaint city. It is like we are walking right along with you. Oh I missed that logo tip of your wave off your brow and the word peace.🙂
Larnaca is a good option for travellers looking to stay in one location, who are visiting Cyprus for a beach holiday and a beach holiday only. It's a charming city.
The land grab/Turkish occupation is very clear just by looking at the two maps you posted of the Cypriot population before and after the Turkish invasion. Thanks. Very nice vlog.
Great video! Thank you for learning the correct information about the Cyprus situation. Next time you visit, you should come to my city, Limassol, which is a completely different energy 🙂 Best wishes ❤️
This destination looks tranquil and the Gopro looks and sounds adequate. And out of ALL the videos I've enjoyed I can finally say...🤔...Jason that chicken souvla looks like something I could eat 😂😂😂
I have the same Canon 50 as you, Jason. However, I think the quality of the GoPro is fantastic - but I suspect that you are a far better photographer than most of us!
Hi Jason - thanks for another video. I don’t mind the quality of the GoPro videos at all, especially when you are just out and about walking, which I really enjoy watching - it makes me feel like I’m there with you 😃. Video with your main camera is nice when you’re at a beautiful site, but to be honest, I don’t often notice when you switch between the two…
I think a mix of GoPro and Canon is the way to go, as you say in your video, whatever makes you (and other people) feel more comfortable. Tbh I'm not too interested in the 'technical' aspect, I watch your vlogs for the content, the info you give, the people you meet, the sights you see... whether the picture/sound quality are perfect or not is not a dealbreaker for me... Looking forward to your Cyprus series as it's one of my next destinations 😄
I love the go-pro! I can't perceive any sound or film quality deficits. I also think it yields more organic interactions with locals. But you're right -- context is important. Certain sights and experiences deserve a more cinematic treatment.
Just to let you know what we use. Very much like yourself we use a better camera for capturing footage of say, a castle or such like and that camera is a Canon EOS M3 and then for ease of use for quick videos where we need to move around a lot we use a Firefly 8SE, which is also very useful for time lapse.
I am happy with your GoPro video quality. I think the GoPro is a smart choice in busy areas like central squares and markets. I don't know if you use an add-on microphone with your GoPro, but I'm pretty sure they are available. Your audio quality seems pretty good just the way it is. So give your self a break sometimes and quit lugging around that heavy and attention getting larger camera.
Watching now and perfect , I’m hoping you may visit the abandoned holiday resort that’s stood there in time . Amazing spooky place which I won’t say incase I spoil it for people cheers
Thanks again for your video which includes lots of valuable information about Larnaca. I don’t feel a big difference in the quality of GoPro and Canon videos when I watch your TH-cam videos on my iPad. As you said it is much easier to film using a GoPro as it attracts less attention of the public while filming.
I think the quality of the go pro is fine. I enjoyed Cyprus. We stayed at Larnaca in a hotel opposite St. Lazarus Church. Nice room, great view, too noisy. We rented a car and drove around the island and went to Nicosia including crossing to the Turkish side. Very interesting.
The Go-pro (I don't know if it is written that way) quality is 100% 👍👍👍 The quality of what we see and hear are very good. In a way it feels more natural, like as if one is kind of walking with you ....😁
I would go with the go pro if it is easier for you to use Jason, drop off isn't bad at all compared to your other camera. Your videos are and continue to be very interesting. Keep up the great work 👍🙂
Hi Jason! Go pro is ok for thanks for asking, but if you could turn the camera more slowly when you switch to your face and in general it would be less " dizzying"! 😉
I think the Go Pro quality is fine for filming. The main thing is you should be comfortable and safe in the environment that you're in so it doesn't detract from your experience. I noticed when you were on the bus at around 15:30, the audio cut out, so maybe check the GoPro audio settings. Other than that, we all enjoy watching your interesting travels capturing the environment through your eyes.
Thanks for that. Sometimes when the background noise is loud it can drown out my voice - sound is my main gripe with the GoPro. Other than that, it’s an amazing little thing!
Hi, Jason. You should go back to Lebanon since you cut your trip there so short. There are many touristic places you missed. I have been to Cyprus many years ago and loved Limassol.
I'm from Larnaca, just got to see this by chance on TH-cam. Thanks for putting Cyprus back on the map.
Cyprus looks gorgeous, it's clearly a must-visit destination for travelers.
he gave THE clue at the end
Cheers everyone for the feedback to my question - it's much appreciated. & I'd just like to say thanks for all your continued support over the last five years.

Great video, Jason! The quality of GoPro is absolutely fine! No complaints! 😊Whichever you are comfortable with.
Perfect. Thank you. Think I will continue to mix and match but use the GoPro more in the future when interacting with people.
Not only do you tour the different places, you give a history lesson of them too, much respect 👍
Glad you like them. Cheers!
