Got my MPP10 about 1,5 yrs ago... haven't got any issues with the gun in the "backpack"... Now you mention it.. haven't got any issues with the figure at all💪 Used a "constructbots" autobot shield to make him "original"... size of the shield is a perfect fit... Just grind/cut of the pin on the back of it.
In regards to weapon storage: The weapon does fit flush in the back, you just have to push it a little bit. It essentially “pegs” into the back. I’ve had the figure for a while and it hasn’t broken at all doing that
I have this guy. Had him for a bit over a year. So good. Looks great, transforms well. Only issues I have had is that the legs don't want to stay together with the "gas tanks" tabbed in. Never had the problem with the blaster fitting it, the back always closes for me, and the matrix has always been a bit loose on mine. Great review though, definitely shows there is a bit of variance in the manufacturing.
@@kaigar_ Uh yeah in this case. There's simply no debating it. The MPP10 is a superior version of the MP10. The only issue is it doesn't match up with normal MP size standards.
With his trailer he is a very nice sized rendition of the alt mode. I am so glad they reissued the trailer. First and last trailer I'll be buying. Don't see me ever replacing it for another alt mode figure.

Despite that I watched Emgo's reviews for years, I never knew that this was his first time with this oversized Masterpiece Generation One Optimus. I remember wanting one of these in the late 2010's but limited cash made me settle with just having Beast Hunters Ultimate Optimus instead. If quality control issues are common with this figure, however, perhaps not buying MPP10 was a blessing in disguise after all.

The gun and matrix fit in mine very well. Perhaps I was lucky? Maybe you were unlucky? It might be a your mileage may vary kind of situation. I have an mpp10 as well. Gun and matrix storage are fine with me, though once the matrix is stored, it's quite hard to get mine back out (I rarely take it out anyway, so it's fine). Main issue on mine is paint chipping in various spots, mostly on the chest when opening and closing the windshield.
I love the upperbody/waist transformation, because it hides the wheels 100%. Also i like that you tell people about "flaws" of a figure, it really helps me out when im planning to get a new one.
This was one of my first third party figures and I love him and I got his trailer. They are huge and very nice for the price. Sucks yours has those issues man mine never ran into them luckily. Yes I agree the matrix is a pain in the ass to get out.
My MPP10 is able to store his gun in his back and the Matrix is pretty easy to get out. I think it's product may vary. Sorry that yours is not too well, but it's a very good figure.
I never ever picked up MP10 however I bought Megamaster a while back and I picked this guy up this past Spring to go with Megatron. I don't have any of the issues you mention but it is the luck of the draw sometimes. He looks good next to Megamaster. I also recently picked up the trailer and it is amazing. Also and I apologize if I missed you mentioning this in the video but his chest is all diecast with paint which is why it is so glossy compared to the rest of him same goes for his feet which is also why they are so much more glossy then the rest of him.
I'm a little green on third party optimus, etc. Do you know where is the reliable place to get one here in North America . Thinking of getting one from Wish. But still doing my research, thanks buddy.

The toy that made me feel like a kid again, playing with my G2 release of the G1 OP mold. It's a pity you've lost the QC lottery, the only problem on my version was the pin holding one of the windows sticking out, I managed to push it flush with some effort. The trailer and upgrade kit (head with light up eyes, bigger, light up gun, fully articulated hands, etc) really complete this figure. Cya Raziel-chan

Hello ,This was my first Transformer as an Adult and it is still my only Optimus Prime in my little collection, the next one will be the Mp44 to use it in robot mode and this in vehicle mode as I have it now. The only thing I do not agree with you is that the plastic is of low quality.
Sad to hear you got these super unlucky issues, Emgo! I got mine two years ago and I didn't have any issues, and it's by far my favourite transforming figure (I know it's a knock-off but I'm pretty basic I guess haha) I just ordered Megamaster tho so I'm excited to see if it will become my new favourite!

My Copy of MPP 10 Is Flawless, the plastic feels better than MP10, same and it does not have the storage issues you have with the Matrix and the Gun, maybe they Cheaped out for the last batch of Copies. But this is much better than MP 10, I never got MP 10, but I got all three of this guy.

I think the problem with the storage for Prime's blaster is that the cut out that you can see when you open up that little compartment on his back isn't quite wide enough, because the barrel needs to be able to fit inside that for the compartment to close completely

Regarding the weapon storage ( not being flush when closed ),when you open the back. Could you fit the weapon directly into the back first and then close to cover over the weapon?
I'ma get this one just so I can have an FL84 that's in scale with most MP Autobots. Take my word for it, the MP10 and MP44 are too small when compared to Hound, Sideswipe, Tracks, Ratchet, etc.
Could it be that the quality of the materials they use to produce MPP-10 deteriorates over the years? They are being sold on Taobao at a much cheaper price than it used to be. When it first came out in 2015, literally everybody said it was the best KO ever made, the quality was said to be even on par with the original.
Counter to his comment: the plastic is tough as nuts on MPP10. It's just glossy compared to Megs, otherwise no difference. My megs has broken in two places, My prime is solid as hell
I got mine through Aliexpress. Looks the same save a couple things. 1. Smoke stacks do not extend or contract. 2. No wheel covers on the legs and 3. The legs do not have a flippable cover to hide the silver "vents" on the front of his legs above the feet in truck mode. Also did not come with energon axe or the Spike & Daniel figures. Still happy with it overall.
I have the battle damaged version amd have had zero issues. That version was also their first one I believe so that may be why there's issues with the hands. But they do have an upgrade kit for full articulated hands.
I had issues with the gun storage too at first but you need to wiggle the thing and apply some pressure when you close the hatch and now it stays inside flush

the matrix, at first i thought it was too big, but i managed to get it in there securely, i just try not to take it out to much, mine didn't have any issues, but to be fair i was just very careful with this thing when i first got it and still do, i just resist playing with it to much. Don't have any version of mp10, so this was my first time messing with this mold, but i do recommend this figure, if you don't have a version already and don't mind it being an oversized KO. Got a reprolabel for his left shoulder, it really completes the look of the figure. Great review as always :) EDIT: for the gun maybe try to close it up and push it and see if it closes, the gun is pretty much pushed in as far as it goes, i tried looking at mine and i looked how the gun is positioned and it's the same as how yours looked and it closed with no problem
I have the exact figure, I dont have any issue with the gun storage on mine. Must be a QC issue. In any case, you're right, there's a lot of newer better primes (original or third party)

Pity about the problems with the gun and matrix, i don't know if it's your copy or the "original" MPP10 mold in general. I can only vouch for the White version of MPP10 that doesn't have these problems.
My copy seems to be doing better than yours. Thankfully, as it's my only masterpiece quality O.P. That being said, I'm obviously not suffering from MP10 fatigue. LOL. Sorry to see yours isn't behaving well, as I love mine. Thanks for the review! Will definitely try and get that Megatron.

Espically since you were the inspiration for me making transformers vids, I’ve been watching you since l was a kid in like2013-2015ish. (Btw I wasn’t trying to promote myself at all my channel is trash it’s a mistake to check it out)
While there are many reviewer out there, I enjoy watching your channel by far. When you mentioned OPP you dated yourself. I was a freshman when that song came out.
I have this guy for some time. I didn't have any issues with tolerances. I also think his plastic is better because my Megatron/Megamaster fade out in some parts and this one no.
Well the gun holding is a flaw brought from the original, but I also think it varies by copy as my mp10 hold his gun kinda solid if you don't push on his fingers to dislodge the gun tab but both my mp10b and mp10sg have a real hard time holding their guns if you try to wrap the fingers around the handle, they pop loose if you look at them wrong.
I just took my MPP10 down off the shelf to see if I could fit the gun in the back and it went in without issue. I didn't have to push too hard or anything. Right in, first try, little effort.
That's odd, i have 2 mpp10s in the regular colors, and another one in the nemesis prime version, and neither of them have an issue, i bought them in 2017, maybe their quality control is not the same as it used to be.
To be fair, we are talking about what is a VERY old figure now in an age where the company that made it isn't even in business anymore so I'd imagine QC is just not quite there.
My copy does not have the weapon storage problem so it might be specific to yours. But with the matrix I have to pry that thing out with a flathead screwdriver every time I want to take it out
Emgo, Hi. What would it take for you to throw in a plastic ruler for 5 seconds while you do the initial comparisons In future reviews? It could help my collecting to know i'm picking up something substantial, and not spending hundred dollar bills on something the size of a peanut.

Funny thing, the MPP10Z version don't have those storage problems, all fingers are have hinges like the index.

My Masterpiece KO Soundwave has a similar issue with holding his gun. Still a nice figure tho.
The gun issue is odd. Mine from the original run is perfectly fine. I guess the mold didn't hold up well over time.

I have this guy for some time. I didn't have any issues with tolerances. I also think his plastic is better because my Megatron/Megamaster fade out in some parts and this one no.
I have that one too and had no issues with the matrix and the gun storage. Maybe it is just your copy.

Well the gun holding is a flaw brought from the original, but I also think it varies by copy as my mp10 hold his gun kinda solid if you don't push on his fingers to dislodge the gun tab but both my mp10b and mp10sg have a real hard time holding their guns if you try to wrap the fingers around the handle, they pop loose if you look at them wrong.
I just took my MPP10 down off the shelf to see if I could fit the gun in the back and it went in without issue. I didn't have to push too hard or anything. Right in, first try, little effort.
That's odd, i have 2 mpp10s in the regular colors, and another one in the nemesis prime version, and neither of them have an issue, i bought them in 2017, maybe their quality control is not the same as it used to be.
To be fair, we are talking about what is a VERY old figure now in an age where the company that made it isn't even in business anymore so I'd imagine QC is just not quite there.
Spiker figure looks like one of those Crash Test Dummies with a wig.
My copy does not have the weapon storage problem so it might be specific to yours. But with the matrix I have to pry that thing out with a flathead screwdriver every time I want to take it out
Emgo, Hi. What would it take for you to throw in a plastic ruler for 5 seconds while you do the initial comparisons In future reviews? It could help my collecting to know i'm picking up something substantial, and not spending hundred dollar bills on something the size of a peanut.

Yeah, I think you got a somewhat bad copy that got passed the QC, since the gun and matrix on my copy can fit in just fine.
Emgo, didn't you review this like 6 of 7 years ago or is it just the same toy with a different mp name and is bigger and a little bit more detailed

The gun barrel is 16th of an inch to long. I sanding mine and it fits fine now.
I got kbb mp10v a while ago and it is supposed to arive pretty soon
