Thanks for this video; it worked! Some extra tips are that if your external device is actually your desktop, and your Images folder is really big and has a ton of pictures, it may be easier to use .zip files to transfer to and from. Hope this helps someone

this tutorial's title or description should be give more specific on whats android and whatsapp version that used. This video wont work on android 11 or above since the folder which scanned by whatsapp is different.

Thanks, was moving to a different model phone. in my case the backups were in another folder (android) and not saved on the default (Whatsapp) folder. Had to look around but eventually found the backups

This is the tutorial that i really needed. I have different conditions where the files are stored in storage/0/Android/media/com.whatsapp/Whatsapp with cannot create folder permission. So i have to copy the entire Whatsapp folder from the previous phone. Then, it works

Hey there important message: if Google drive back appears only => put on flight modus, at the prompt, before you are asked to restore from Google. This way it gets a timeout and it looks for local backup. THERE IS NO NEED TO DISCONNECT FROM GOOGLE AC OUT AT ALL. cheers.

Very Helpful video and you gave so much hope and it worked perfect for me. Only thing in my phone the destination folder was "storage/0/Android/media/com.whatsapp/Whatsapp" folder. Simply copying to the regular whatsapp folder in the new phone didn't work.

If you have backup files in file manager then you can easily restore or transfer your all data
Top right-hand corner, select the gear icon, select playback speed, select 0.25x

There is extension issue in backups. Mine is saved in dbcrypt15 and in the video and whats app help it is showing as dbcrypt14.

You might want to restore the backup but perhaps those chats or media files that you want to restore might not be there. Because when your backup is detected all its data is restored.

When clearing data, the process deletes the 3 folers (Media, Databases, Backups). With your video, they were not deleted. What should I do to prevent the 3 folders from being deleted?
Before clearing data you should copy these three backup folders to another folder and then there will be no data loss

Finally,, i backup all the folder media to external harddisk.. delete them (the ones in my phone).. then backup to google drive (get much smaller size).. Alhamdulillah, got all the chats history in my new phone
