Its not a problem as long as you can cover it up with a dress shirt. I have a ton of them (and many of my classmates do as well) and its never been a problem in med school. Sometimes i'll wear a t shirt, which doesn't cover the stuff on my upper arm, when i volunteer at homeless shelters and the patients actually like me more cause its something we have in common lol. Neck and hand tattoos will basically get you rejected straight up though. I would say anything more than a half sleeve is pushing it. Medicine is still fairly conservative but its becoming more accepting. It also helps if your ink is quality art and doesn't say stupid shit like "AssEatingSzn"
My family doctor has a sweet sleeve. Granted, he got it years into his practice and most of it is medical related, like the serpent and staff. It stays covered up most of the time though.
How old were you when you started Medical school? Also why did you decide to go to a Caribbean medical school? Your study hacks are great, currently in module 6.
Buck Parker reviewing cars, now this is a trend I can get behind! Nice purchase my friend, go enjoy a few track days and see what that beast can really accomplish!
i aim to be surgeon too in the near future(im a fresher in med school right now),and i hope to buy a lamborghini if im put in a situation similar to you. is it possible to buy a lamborghini being a surgeon, depending on the amount a surgeon earns and other factors like practicality? oh and Dr parker,gt3 is an amazing choice, loved this👍
I have always been a car guy and I have been a valet attendant at a really nice hotel for 3 years while in college as a pre-med and nice cars are definitely one of my motives to become a doctor haha. Good choice on the car!
Does the rear engine bother you? I love Porsche but I think I would prefer a cayman because I’m worried the rear engine in the 911 will make it harder to handle.
I am an M1 and a new follower of your channel. I love the medical content and I also love cars. What a sweet GT3. Congrats! The PDK is so smooth, I would go for the PDK over the manual also.
It makes good sense when you said "think what kind of car you want to drive when you are 40". and i know as an IMG i got to work a lot harder to get my as* matched in a competitive residency program in the states :)
You definitely made the right choice on a GT3 over a Turbo. It will certainly hold it's value better and is a far better driver's car. In regards to manuals, you can get a 2009-2011 for 100k or less, and they brought it back in 2017 for the new models.
I work for Porsche now in SLC! these cars are amazing, but I want one for myself one day. I plan on going to school and becoming an orthopedic surgeon. Is there any advice you could give me? I’m 18 live on my own , work 8-5. Idk how to juggle it all.
Enjoy your videos man, I was pre-med and decided to stop that path and start my own business, I'm an engineer now. The reason I started a business was to be able to offset the cost of med-school while having a good source of income. In your opinion, given the amount of time it takes to become a trauma surgeon, do you think there is ever a time that is too late to get into the medical field?
really depends on your life situation. because most likely you will move around at least 2-3 times, be studying and or working 12+ hrs per day. so if you have an established business that is local it's tough to move that or manage it remotely. also if you have an established family with kids in school you have to think about moving them around to diff schools and how that affects them personally.
@@drbuckparker Thank you for the reply man. I don't have any kids, I am engaged but she's good with moving around (we're both prior military so we're use to it). My business is consulting, so I travel all over, even though I'm "based" out of Arizona, it doesn't have to stay that way. To me it sounds doable, not easy by any means but something that's entirely possible.
Hey Doctor buck, I've got a question. You said your salary is about a Million a year. But I don't see salaries like that for general surgeons online (on websites like Salary.com or Glassdoor). Can you comment on that?
Thank you! I read John Sandford's Lucas Davenport series, who drives a Porsche. It was great to see and hear yours. Enjoy! Don't get into trouble with it.
Good afternoon Dr.Buck, I love your videos and was wondering if you have some advice. I'm 21 and am either deciding to go to nursing to become a crna or go to med school and become an anesthesiologist. However I did not have good grades at all in high school. I simply didnt believe in myself. I went to a community college and did very well in my first semester. Now I feel as though I have more confidence. Should I attempt to work to get into med school? Or should I work and go to nursing school? Anyways cheers on the new car! Have a good day.
Sick car, congrats Dr. Buck. Confused though about the title of the vid though cause I didn't really catch what your answer to the question was? Just that it's something to work towards?
You are my role mode, any chance you could make a video for IMG'S from countries were english isn't the official language? (Ex. Mexico, Peru, Argentina, etc)
That’s badass Dr. Buck! Probably my favorite supercar out there right now and even though the manual would have been sweet, the auto is not only more affordable, but more practical as well. Very cool indeed sir! 😎👍
congrats man. cars are expensive. It has been a year for me working as GP and I saved some money and I'm debating whether to buy the new Camry or not it is hard to spend that saved dough for me although I would love to drive a Porsche for a day
DR. PARKER!! You legit have lived my life lol I saw the video on the 1.7 GPA and that was exactly me when I was pre med. Also I'm a huge car guy and this video obviously caught my attention. Funny part is that I actually have a manual mustang that Ive had now close to 6 years; also want a supercar and Dude... I own a Tag that looks almost identical to yours lol (I have the same band at least lol) and lets not forget the cursing LMAO. If you do ever get to see this comment I'd really appreciate if you could think of perhaps doing a video on CHIROPRACTIC SCHOOL because I will be starting Chiropractic school soon and even though I won't be an Orthopedic Surgeon like I once hoped I would; I will at least still be a doctor that deals with joints (which is what I really like). Thank you for the super informative videos. Ran into one of your videos about 2 hours ago and I haven't stopped watching them lol. Needless to say, you gained a new subscriber. Possibly a fan too lol. Cheers!
Shit dude, just saw that you wear a Suunto on one of your photos on instagram; LOL Im wearing my black Suunto Core as I type lol bro this is some weird ass shit. I feel like by looking at you IM looking at myself in a couple of years (except as a chiropractor). Im 23.
I love your videos! Did you (or the friend that helped you out) consider a used Lamborghini? They’re not as expensive as you might think.. and most people can‘t tell the difference between Lamborghinis so it‘s great for showing off!😂 I bet they drive pretty nicely too.. Keep up the videos
Wow that car, man....whew!! Dr. Buck, you deserve a nice car...guys have a deep need to control extremely powerful and efficient engines...it's genetic.
I am freaking out. I love cars so this just have me frisson when you started it up. Eeeeeeeeek !!!!!!!!! Manual feels good when you shift so I totally get it,you feel in control and When the power kicks in -Ohhhhhh Baby ! 😄😄😄😄
Could you possibly do a house tour I think that would be so cool
I realize it's pretty off topic but do anyone know of a good site to watch new tv shows online?
@Camilo Aarav meh I use flixportal. you can find it through google :P -zev
@Zev Lorenzo Thanks, I signed up and it seems to work :D Appreciate it !!
@Camilo Aarav No problem =)
I was focused on the 3 garages in the back lol
A surgeon and a car guy!! I follow a few docs but never one that is interested in cars like myself!! Thanks for your content!!
What kind of car do you got?
Interested in what cars you drive too! Hoping to pick up a C8 ZO6 one day!
The best car you could’ve gotten! Smart to buy used!!
hello Rajiv
Very smart. Those GT Porsches barely depreciate, even when new.
the b biddim . Really ? Wow
Because there may be an emergency at the hospital and you don't want to wait for the bus or uber? lol
That car is absolutely beautiful.
thank u!
Love how he showed it off whilst still being humble and grounded to the reasons of going into medicine! 👌🏾👌🏾
can you give us an update on what you do right now?
Can you talk about tattoos and how that might affect a pre med student? Love your videos!!
Yeah not a good luck if you have it on your neck
Its not a problem as long as you can cover it up with a dress shirt. I have a ton of them (and many of my classmates do as well) and its never been a problem in med school. Medicine is still fairly conservative but its becoming more accepting. It also helps if your ink is quality art and doesn't say stupid shit like "AssEatingSzn"
DO NOT get any facial or non coverable tattoo. You'll definitely be judged for it during residency interviews.
My family doctor has a sweet sleeve. Granted, he got it years into his practice and most of it is medical related, like the serpent and staff. It stays covered up most of the time though.
@@timo.10 Laser it off
Congratulations on a carefully planned purchase! Everyone deserves to have a few toys. Enjoy yours!
How old were you when you started Medical school? Also why did you decide to go to a Caribbean medical school? Your study hacks are great, currently in module 6.
Its the only car flex video that i don't hate whatsoever. Thumbs up!
I want a either a white porche or one that’s teal bc it will be like a futuristic 1957 Chevy vibes Ya feel?
Buck Parker reviewing cars, now this is a trend I can get behind! Nice purchase my friend, go enjoy a few track days and see what that beast can really accomplish!
I acquired a 2015 GT3 in October for the same reasons. Good value retention, bad ass, and super car status
i aim to be surgeon too in the near future(im a fresher in med school right now),and i hope to buy a lamborghini if im put in a situation similar to you.
is it possible to buy a lamborghini being a surgeon, depending on the amount a surgeon earns and other factors like practicality?
oh and Dr parker,gt3 is an amazing choice, loved this👍
You are awesome! I'm a pre-med and I just started watching your videos. Subscribed!
What are your thoughts of vaping over smoking?
Dr Buck why did you go to school in the Caribbean instead of the USA?
Nooo Dr.Buck you have to drive it for us 😭😭
I have always been a car guy and I have been a valet attendant at a really nice hotel for 3 years while in college as a pre-med and nice cars are definitely one of my motives to become a doctor haha. Good choice on the car!
Does the rear engine bother you? I love Porsche but I think I would prefer a cayman because I’m worried the rear engine in the 911 will make it harder to handle.
Dr buck, for you, is it possible to become a doctor first, and then get a pilot license?
Congrats DOC hope you enjoy it hard work pays off
I am an M1 and a new follower of your channel. I love the medical content and I also love cars. What a sweet GT3. Congrats! The PDK is so smooth, I would go for the PDK over the manual also.
Woo. Barely any people in medicine in cars haha. But its too bad you would take a pdk
I have a question for you doc what do you think of head transplant thing in your perspective
It makes good sense when you said "think what kind of car you want to drive when you are 40". and i know as an IMG i got to work a lot harder to get my as* matched in a competitive residency program in the states :)
Wow, congratulations. 😊😊
May I know what residency you have matched?

Buck.....great choice. Beautiful car. Hard work and dedication pay off. You earned it...that makes it even better. Congratulations brother.
thanks steve!

Awesomeee!!! It's hard! Straight line. Make sure you don't do too much. Focus on whats important and say no to a lot haha.

Nice I've been waiting for the grand tour of your vehicles. People who know 911s know what it is. That's why I love them.
Do you still have the Audi?
Sick car, congrats Dr. Buck. Confused though about the title of the vid though cause I didn't really catch what your answer to the question was? Just that it's something to work towards?

can you do more videos for pre med?
thanks for showing that a sensible mindset is important no matter how far along a person is, love the video!
I’m in 7th grade and wanting to become a neurosurgeon, and is there any high school classes that you recommend taking?
That’s badass Dr. Buck! Probably my favorite supercar out there right now and even though the manual would have been sweet, the auto is not only more affordable, but more practical as well. Very cool indeed sir! 😎👍
Thank you for making the video, its really a motivation. You never go wrong with Porsche, enjoy that beast
Congrats Dr. Buck, so happy for you.
Are you collaborating with Dr. mike? He shows us the r8 and now u with the gt3. Maybe a race to settle who is the best doctor TH-camr is needed
Would’ve never seen you as a car guy... I love this channel man, good choice on the gt3!
Congrats Dr. Parker! That's my dream car!
So does a surgeon get a lot of tang? That’s a pretty good incentive also
Love the video! Amazing car. What made you go with this instead of GT4? Your moms advice is perfect !
Can you talk about your land cruiser?
You need to go bring this to Doug Demuro ! :0

Well I want a Lamborghini like doctor strange had what kind of doctor should I be
I was so tired when I watched this I was like why does he need a manuel (like to read) for this car 🤣
Because Courtney, when you read you learn many things such as the difference between Manuel and manual.
Let me know when i can borrow it! Thanks! 👍🤙😜
Nice car
