Like it or not, Wagon R is bestselling for 20 years. Yes it is Tall boy design, it is wide and length increased. If that makes you call it a Tin Box for Uber and Ola, so be it. People buying it will put comfort of their families getting into and out of the car and value for money and apt for city driving.

I'll definitely take this car as my first car. I'll take my mom,dad and cat on drive in this. Sometimes with my friends to hangout. A CNG option will be great on saving some bucks while travelling but I'll have to compromise on storage space. Also the car is so practical while watching this review I was thinking myself driving this car and yes the MARUTI gives that feel of practicality. Can take this car on long drives I guess. Loved the review sir
Agreed with the review completely! Only for 50K extra, TATAs are offering 15 inch alloy wheels + Harman speaker system + Climate control + Reverse parking camera. Seems like a better choice any day

I still drive my 2006 model Wagon R almost everyday to drop off my children at School, for the past 13 years, it never let me down, all electrical system ( wiring) are still un repaired and intact. Only one indicator light need replaced so far..the engine still humming nicely, no complain yet. But the body shows lots of scratches, and the original paint faded now. So whether this new model can outlast the older generation? time will tell.
I'm actually quite worried about new cars cause they have bumpers than kind of flush in with the headlamp/taillamp/tailgate, which means a small bumper fender could result in more damage than just a scratch or dent on the bumper...
I am having manual wagon r 2009 model. I want to purchase AMT version now. But in this regard can you advise on following issues? 1. Is the AMT suitable on gradients of Mumbai/Thane/Pune bridges where due to traffic we have to stop and start on gradients. Are there roll back problems on these bridges which need to be addressed very often using hand brake? 2. In my manual wagon r, esp in rainy seasons, when I pull hand brake, I get problems of wheel jam. Hence the mechanic advised me not to pull hand brake in rainy seasons. In AMT we have to pull hand brake in parked condition. Will it give similar problems as above for manual wagon r?

Cons of wagan r for me :- 1 headlights could hv been improved (projector) 2- now since its more bigger than before tyre size also had to be increased. 3 the pricing is bit to high I mean y would I buy that when I can get second hand ignis at that price 😕

As a wagon R user I feel this is costlier and at this price point of 7 lacs if you are willing to stretch you can get other sedans. If you do want a wagon r which I'd recommend as an ok beater car and a reliable one, buy an used one which has done ~25K

It all looks good but is it a safe car? Maruti has been scrutinized continuously for it's poor chassis in Swift, baleno and this is 65kgs lesser than the previous car makes it very doubtful. None of the reviewers address that
Safety of a car is no way related to its weight. In fact, the Heartech platform of Maruti Suzuki is much more stronger than its old platforms. Safety depends more on safety features like airbags, structural integrity and ABS. Indians cars are introducing more safety features recently due to changing government regulations.
@@viveku4007 swift had the same heartect platform with all safety features, but still failed the safety test because its structural integrity is unstable. Each and every car made on heartect is high unsafe

Since its based on the so-called "Heartect" platform, it will have the same crash test ratings (2-stars) like the new maruti swift. But no reviewer talks about it. Better to go for Tata tiago.

With the exception of the Ciaz, most Maruti's are set up too stiffly and don't damp out engine and tire vibrations enough.

Better than older one. Revised suspension, wider and longer body. This will improve stability.
It's not taller than before. But it is wider, and wheelbase is longer. And it is lighter. So it will be more stable than before. Hope that helps.

AMT stands for automated manual transmission..it's not a traditional automatic (it has no "park" function)
