Какой смысл в мощности если болячки ТТ давно известны - самопроизвольное выпадение магазина при стрельбе, поломка курка, нет стрельбы самовзводом. Как военное оружие, и тем боле как гражданское - полностью бестолковое.

    @OldManMontgomery 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So what? Nothing is explained, no reason is provided, no reasoning is provided, just some rather old rounds being fired into unidentified sheet metal with the presumed purpose of which penetrates further than the others. And that demonstrates what? No explanation. Here's a hint: If I am in the position of firing at a fortified position (highly unlikely) I choose a rifle with FMJ spitzer type ammunition.
    The whole set up is quite odd.

    • @pericodelospalotes5738
      @pericodelospalotes5738 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is just a penetration test, in France where it is made no hollow point bullets are legally allowed except for hunting with rifles, as well as in Spain and I guess in most part of Europe. No civilian can rely on a hollow point stopping power. This is not Murika, you know? By the way, no firearm is allowed for self defense inside our homes, only for sporting shooting and very restricted in amount of ammo and number of guns.

    • @OldManMontgomery
      @OldManMontgomery 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pericodelospalotes5738 This tests penetration relative to the cartridge? That is odd, as penetration in softer but deeper material is different in function than penetration in a hard, single surface. Penetration in sheet metal is not 'translatable' to penetration in water, or the body of a game animal or human adversary.
      I did get the idea of testing penetration. However, there is no explanation and no knowledge gained. Perhaps for the person doing the testing, but it means nothing to me.
      And I have to ask: Is the 7.62 Nagant round popular in Europe? I must also ask, the screen name you seems to mean "loss of the balls". Could you clarify that for me? (My screen name is that I am the oldest living male of my family.)

В военное время были случаи, когда из ТТ выпускали почти целый магазин и это не останавливало человека. ТТ по сути дырокол, а 1911 отличный армейский пистолет. К тому же ТТ собирались в военное время очень не качественно

I'm looking for a cheap 1911 in 9mm or 38 super and I'm going to get a 7.62X25 barrel for it. I love the 1911 and the 7.62x25 impressed me. Plus it would be nice to own a 38 super. I have never had a 9mm in a 1911 before. There is way more history with the 38 super then the 9mm in the 1911. I wish I could could go back to doing this for a living.

      @@schrodingersgat4344 the same choice in terms of caliber with you,bro! However quite a different firearm in my case-believe it or not but it is an antique conehammer Mauser C-96 second year of production.. Yes, I mean it was produced in 1897: it's serial number is in range between 6000 and 7000!Yet the gun is cool as hell and it loves the Soviet Tokarev milsurp ammo! And due to the longer barrel it's also slightly more powerful than TT-33!
      Besides an interesting note!I don't have a Makarov pistol itself and I don't actually have any firearms that are chambered in 9×18mm Makarov.. However I do have a very cool gun that does fire the Makarov bullets but won't accept Makarov ammunition because it's bore diameter is identical to Makarov pistol but the actual chambering is 9.4×22 Belgian! And as for the gun that fires it I just recently discovered that the particular one that I have is mindblowingly rare:190 ever produced! So you might ask how did I get such a rare gun and didn't even realize it for about half a year of owning it and how much did I pay for such a scarcity?Just 850$ on GunBroker: the dude who was selling it didn't know that it was special one either so we both thought that the guy sold me a simple 1878 pattern Belgian Nagant revolver that was made in numbers over a hundred thousand back in the day and those are not considered anything scarce or too valuable but it turned out that it was the rarest of the models of Belgian Nagant:a Mle-1884 Luxembourg gendarmerie contract model! And I just used it for deer hunting the last season(and will most likely take it to the woods during this season as well 😂)!The gun actually despite it's age of 137 years (all 190 of them were produced in 1884)-did in fact so well that I actually still carry it most of the time!I just make brass for it by trimming the .30-30 to 22mm in length,put 7.0 grains of pistol powder (idk which one: I just bought 10 lbs of it for ridiculously cheap on a gun show and so I use it but still can't figure out what brand it is: it was in the large bag with no label and the vendor had no idea what it is 😂),and the regular 94 grain FMJ RN Makarov bullet in it and it really flys much faster than it does out of the original Makarov pistol!1400 fps on average according to chronograph while Makarov does only 1030fps! And the difference of 370fps is very noticeable obviously:it actually becomes quite close to Tokarev ammo in terms of penetration capabilities,I would say it is between 9mm Luger and 7.62×25 in this case but vastly superior to both in terms of damage to the living objects than both!I remember how I had to chase a damn whitetail buck after shooting it 4 times with my broomhandle Mauser one day and thinking that I missed three out of four times and then it went down with two more and finally was dispatched with a headshot which was quite disappointing on itself..And then when I started using my Mle-1884 and Makarov bullets-these whitetail bucks went down like a bag of potatoes with just one or two hits!

      @@schrodingersgat4344 Basically Mauser C-96 and Tokarev TT-33 have fully interchangeable ammunition! When I was living in Russia I used to do metaldetecting a lot on WW2 battlefields and trust me:we found a c-rap load of PPSH-41 magazines full of German Mauser C-96 rounds which were issued in the beginning of WW2 to a lot of people because by 1941 Soviets had such a massive and gargantuan stockpiles of Mauser C-96 ammo that basically equalled the number of Soviet made Tokarev ammo by then! Same thing is true vice versa:I regularly shoot my antique conehammer Mauser C-96 with plain and simple unmodified TT-33 milsurp ammo and it works flawlessly!What I also love about C-96 is that it has a longer barrel and bigger magazine capacity than TT-33 so I would still prefer C-96 over Tokarev just by characteristics of it!
      Although with that being said of my antiques I will most likely once again grab my Mle-1884 when the deer season comes: Makarov bullets that I load it with for some reason really act like an off button on whitetails!

    Was the Nagant revolver shot with commercial ammo? In my experience, that stuff is very lightly loaded; I have two twisted but intact bullets on my desk which hit metal plates at bit over 10 meters. Also, the commerial Nagant ammo can be a bit inconsistent. Hand loading to replicate the original Russian loads would probably be the best. Otherwise this test seems pretty nice and maybe even predictable.

      As much fun too shoot the 7.62x 25 (actually 0.309) is, if 9mm is the choose there good reason : less stopping power than 45acp but better penetration, less penetration than toto but better stopping power. Both 45acp and 7.62x25 are piece of history with no modern use, one can't get through basic armor, with jhp even some clothes, the other just got through without doing much damage.

    7.62 Nagant is a bit weak, but the rest are all respectable with the proper ammunition. I've carried all 4 of the latter calibers. I don't have a problem with any of them. What I carry now, though, is 9mm Luger.

My Makarovs.... got to say... they are reliable and very accurate for such a gun. a bit above a .380 in power... not weak... the CZ52? great gun and the tokarev round is fun.... but.... for all around I would chose the 1911 in 45 acp or even 38 super. the Tok round in great for some things.... but all around it is just not good enough. *TT* Yeah very good for armour penetration but against soft targets it has simply way to much penetration and it travales to fast.Thats why hollow points almost dont expand at all so its not a good caliber for self defense.It's not a pistol round but more like a MP-round if you compare it to other rounds at the time used for pistols and MP's like the german 9mm luger. The russian wanted a cartrige that van be used in a regular pistol but has more power then usual pistols rounds to give their MP's a higher effective range and accuracy. The reason for this "need" were the very short-barreled, inaccurate MP's.This didnt worked though and the ended up with very inaccurate, low-range MP's and a cartrige which was at the short ranges where it was used, way to powerfull with a strong recoil

    • @joelau2383
      @joelau2383 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      7.62x25mm is too powerful for pistol, but it is really good for smg and pdw. Comparing it with .30 carbine, 7.62x25mm is more suitable for full auto firing while it keeps similar damage capability as .30 carbine. Besides, it is probably the most powerful round for directly blowback full auto firearm.

    • @joelau2383
      @joelau2383 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@idealist4910 ppsh is inaccurate, because it is open bolt smg. There are some close bolt smg in 7.62x25mm such as russian pp-19 2-07 and chinese type 79. They are good enough in medium distance.

    • @idealist4910
      @idealist4910 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joelau2383 well yes there are modern SMG's using the 7.62 TT but only because of the armour penetration of this round. The TT can penetrate soft bodyarmour 3+ (which is the best soft body armour). Its the same with smg's like the MP7 or P90. But these rounds are except the armour penetration pretty bad compared to 9mm or 10mm for example.

    • @joelau2383
      @joelau2383 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@idealist4910 I think you have a wrong view. 7.62x25mm is good enough to kill small animals. It also has high enough penetration to damage the vital organs of large animals and people wearing soft body armor (all you need is a big magazine to accumulate enough damage to kill it) . The only advantage of 9mm is to quickly dump huge energy into a thin target without body armor (aka self-defense). But self-defense is the sole reason why most people need guns, so it makes 9mm much"better/popular" than 7.62x25mm.
