I find this console to be very charming and beautiful. Not counting its variations, it's the last SEGA console that I need to add to my collection, now that I got a Master System and a Saturn. Really looking forward to it! I really like the angle you shot this footage, works very nicely and it's refreshing. Thanks for sharing.
Really interesting and informative! I wasn't aware there was a predecessor to the Master System. Video quality was clear, but I noticed a persisting white noise that distracted from your commentary somewhat.
I play SG-1000, SC-3000, Othello Multivision (and other clones), and Mark III games on my imported Japanese Sega Master System. It has built-in 3D hardware, built-in Rapid Fire hardware, and built-in Yamaha FM sound.
Believe it or not an SG-1000 compatible console was sold in the U.S. The Telegames Dina 2 in One. It has two cartridge slots. One for SG-1000 games and the second for ColecoVision games. Both slots use the same hardware. Which slot you had a cart in determined which BIOS was used. Telegames had secured the right to market a ColecoVision clone, but there's no evidence that they had secured a license with Sega. The box and instructions make no mention of the SG-1000. It was sold via mail order and cost $40. You'd be lucky to find one at 10 times the cost now. Plus they are very unreliable. Super rare. It was manufactured by Bit Corp.
Exerion is based on the arcade game (it also had an NES port). The movement is very inertia based so that's why you felt your joysticks/pads were somewhat unresponsive, but they weren't. :)
7.55 flicky i had this game on ps2 sega classics, but whats the name of that old sega game thats kind of like rainbow islands where at the end you fight a devil who throws a pitched fork at you? its a forgoten one, please if anyone has any ideas tell me, it was a side scrolling game 2d you had a cute character like mega man, mario bros, wonder boy type of character
The original SG-1000 has a very pretty color scheme. It looks very elegant.

Why didn't you just use the 2nd system to play the games? They are the same machine and it would have been better without hurting your hands.

I'd like a SEGA SG-1000 Mark III for my collection.
Interesting. I didn't even know this existed.

WOO SG FLICKY! Also if you've got SC-3000, please show it off, also you might be able to play the games better with a functioning keyboard haha
You can tell if someone is a game-noob if someone says the Genesis was the NES competition but it was actually the Dega Computer Video Game.
Can you use mega drive controllers with this thing?
