sorry for the late reply but this is how I did the second question.
first, find the outcome of rolling two 6-sided dices. the outcome where both dices have the same number (i.e. 1 and 1, 2 and 2, 3 and 3, etc.) the score will be 0.
the outcome of rolling different numbers will give u the score of the lower number (i.e. 1 and 2 means the score will be 1 because 1 is less than 3
2 and 3 means the score will be 2 because 2 is less than 3
5 and 6 means the score will be 5)
find the probabilities of getting the score as 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 , 5 (probability of getting a 6 is zero because 6 and 6 gives u a score of 0)
for the expected score just add all fo the x*probabilities and divide it by total probability (6*6 = 36). hope this helps !
