Why didn't you use a membrane or waterproof tape on the tops of the joists to stop the timber joists rotting prematurely?

Gonna be rotten within similar timeframe of the 10 year old decking they replaced.

Hi Danny, very nice job. How much did it cost to do this job? I’m looking to have something similar done. Approx a 3mx3m composite decking. Many thanks.

Nice to see the subframe raise slightly off ground. So many you tube videos with the subframe resting on ground which as I found, rots the timber! May I ask, with Trex, can you vary the gaps slighltly between composite boards, to bring the edges in line with edge of subframe.

      worth knowing

I would happily space out 10 boards 1mm at a time to squeeze up a 10mm run at the end

Treated wood is made for ground contact. But I would put a weed barrier down. I have snakes, so my deck needs to be ground contact only

Nice work. Should use nails for framing though m8. Don't shear.
