  • Dialogue host Marcia Franklin talks with novelist and short story writer Richard Ford about his works and life. The two discuss the themes in his books, why he wanted to write another novel in the Frank Bascombe series, and race relations in America.
    The interview was taped at the 2015 Sun Valley Writers' Conference.

    Brilliant and poignant probing of Richard Ford by Marcia Franklin. Richard Fords teasing is also illuminating. Great to listen to such a complex interview. A fantastic writer with the depth of an Idaho winter. Now a fan of Idaho Public TV!

    A thoughtful insight into American race relations. I just wonder if he ever thought the ‘bad actors’ would find such a leader, who didn’t come from the. South but from a privileged New York background.
