    • @CaptHollister
      @CaptHollister 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. Mongrels like this bike gives one an appreciation for the magnitude and thoroughness of Mr.Millyard's projects. No carb and supercharger sticking out of the top, a proper seat, no car tire and outriggers, no need for a drill to get it running. Allen Millyard built an actual, usable motorcycle.

    • @Lucas12v
      @Lucas12v 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Flying Millyard is an amazing bit of work to be sure but i don't think that takes away from this bike. this one is cool in a different way for me because it's a watercooled supercharged aircraft engine making 500 hp. I even think the separate starter is gives it character. Besides, it was probably the only reasonable (reasonable for a show bike) way to handle the starting situation. Of the two, i prefer the FM but it's not a contest, they can both be cool.

    • @Mr_Smith1327
      @Mr_Smith1327 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lucas12v This is no show bike (well these days it is) it was built as a drag racing bike although unfortunately for Lucky he was sabotaged on at least one occasion while trying to run it down the 1/4 mile. On at least one occasion someone had loosened one of the spark plug leads causing it to run poorly and be considerably slower than it should be.

    It's the only one of its kind in the world - with the exception of the other one I saw in Motorcycle International back in the 80's. Could've been the very same bike I suppose, but the one in the magazine didn't have the tail piece or shark fairing.

    So much work and you couldn't re-route the exhaust a bit better

    That's very clever. Alot of thought and work has gone into that.
    Ive got to ask though. Why would you have the exhausts pointing point blank at the person trying to start it after all that 🤔🤣

      If you look on the other side, the exhaust is probably routed to the side the starter is on to keep the heat away from the belts.
      Space is obviously at a premium and weight is an enemy. Compromises had to be made.
      Unlike in partisan politics, "compromise" isn't a 4 letter word.

      They'd have built it, but never had the imagination to do anything more radical than put a briggs and stratton V twin stationary engine in a kit chopper frame.
