This single was pretty refreshing in the early 2000's when pop-punk, nu-Metal and rap-rock were topping the charts. I love how low-gain this performance is; very punk rock in its own right. Singer reminds me so much of a young Mick Jager here.
So many good bands back then. Hives, Strokes, Vines, White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys... the list goes on. The whole of pop culture shifted towards guitar oriented music in that period. It was a great time! After that came Lady Gaga and Rihanna... never thought that vanilla pop music would ever come back. I wonder if Rock music ever gets big again...
Saw them live last week for the first time since like 2008?? And they still fucking kick ass! Still hopping around like maniacs and sound crisp as hell!

I'd say it's a coin toss between Conan and Letterman for best musical guests/performances. Just sad nowadays with the death of conventional TV, that bands don't get national/international exposure like this anymore. Cheers!
I saw this guys play at Madison Square Garden in I want to say 2010? For some reason they were touring with Maroon 5. it was kind of sad because they were playing while a bunch of soccer moms were getting seated for maroon 5 with the lights on. they still rocked it out, but I felt bad for them that they didn't have a better MSG moment. amazing band
The dichotomy of matching suits and ties, while playing aggressive 60's garage punk, is without a doubt a throwback to the Jam's first album. They do it well, and with their own voice.
This is such a fun band. Would love to see them live. Yes I know they were more than inspired by Mick and Keith but they’re just a fun rock and roll band.
Having seen them twice in the past week, I can confidently say that, 20+ years after this performance originally aired, they are still the best live band on the planet. Hope you get to check them out soon!
@superads91They're straight up hardcore in their earlier years, no Small Faces or Ramones... Sweden had a strong 60s garage rock scene, that's their influence. More The Sonics, Music Machine...
Jagger never moved like Pelle does on stage and the guitarists have a lot more to do with punk than Keith... they get out of the stage soaking wet, the band is nothing like any band since the 2000s.

@@spurv Yeah, but maybe they really just meant the volume, the pedal seems to be set roughly at unity gain, which means the volumes match, just the sound changes a bit.

There's something about a lot of popular early 2000s rock songs with chord progressions that give me a similar vibe that I love but can't quite explain. When the guitar spin move fails but actually makes the performance better…
The guitar dropping to the floor actually coincided with the last note. Amazing! I love how Niklas just smiled and owned it.
