- Playing around with Wondershare Filmora and felt this scene would have been a good place to end this FANTASTIC and AMAZING FILM!
If you haven't seen it, you need to watch it! Emily Blunt and Benecio del Toro are amazing.
I love how he turns and faces her square to make the shot easier which seems to scare the shit out of her even more.
Emily was entirely out of her depth, and Alejandro is the kind of hero we need and deserve a man that has nothing left to live for other than revenge. As much as some people might want to hate him, he is a hero in what he does.
I really, really hope she comes back for Part 3. Love her character!
@@MoffeeA453 I don't. She could have been killed three times in the first movie. Her character is threat to any operation.
If this were a true op she would have been reassigned or the members of the team would have sent her a very clear message not to screw it up. She could have easily become collateral by her own team members and no one would have known or cared.
They needed to have a strong female character instead her character wasn't strong but was an idiot. You know, maybe that's what they were going for.
@@dps6198I honestly think she was meant to represent "us" the viewer who doesn't fully understand how deep this war goes and how much blood is shed. That's why she's pretty much aloof and nieve throughout the film because we as the general public have no clue what's really going on down there.

She truly was an idiot the whole time and cocky but was shown how dark the world really is and she could have died if Alejandro allowed it. He did save her a few times or tried to warn 😂

I really hope she’s back in Part III.
emily's character represents the naive view of how the world is good vs evil and that justice always prevails and just how detached the average American is from the dark, violent reality most other people have to live in.
I really hope she's back for Part 3.
its not just Americans, it's anyone we see as Isolated and 'protected". Europe, Asia, anyone not in the know...

Isn't this the normal ending? It basically the same ending as the DVD and what I've seen on cable. I never saw it in the theater, so I don't know if it was changed or not.
No, the soccer game is at the end.

@@aardque the very end where Silvio’s wife and son go to his soccer practice and then there’s gunshots at the end and everyone stops playing for a minute and then they start playing again right before the credits
@@MoffeeA453 Thank you I found it online. Obviously that is the soccer game that the policeman father had promised to not miss and I think we're supposed to assume they assume any time they hear gunfire could involve an officer of the law.
This isn’t an alternate ending. It’s in the movie as this. There is an additional scene that isn’t here.

@@JulianBarreiro-rk2ql you are wrong. Those shots have nothing to do with Emily's character. Different area, different time, different weapons. You can hear multiple automatic gunshots during the football game, it's just a sad reminder that the drug war never ends in Mexico.
Emily's character was out of her depth with Del Toro's, here. She wants to believe that everything can be fitted into a box of good and bad, where the Law makes it all make sense. He knows better-he's seen the worst, done the worst, lived through the worst.
His character isn't a hero or a good man in any sense of the word. He's a necessary evil she cannot face...
The two of them were the real draw of the film. My only complaint is that they didn't get her back for the sequel.
her story for this was done, there was little gained from telling more, she was never intended to turn into a bad ass. this is the perfect point to leave her at.
@@elimtevir1I agree. Shes a great actress n she was great in the role she played here. That said it seemed obvious that her cartel warring days are done.
Having her in a sequal would seem contrived to me. It was obvious to her and everyone around her that she wasnt built for that. Ignorance is bliss. Brolin n Del Toros characters face a huge dilema in the sequal. Blindly follow orders, or do what is morally right. Plus to me it seems they both have a love/hate relationship with their work.
Kate wants to believe in her work, its cause, and the results. 1+1 doesnt alway equal 2. Tons of gray involved because of politics n money.
Shes shaking that gun like crazy! Should have trained her hands better!
