I had a Syrian Kurdish neighbours and our families got very close through our children being friends. We got both families together twice for dinner. They offered Maqlube as a main dish and it immediately rose to my favourite food list.
Our return was to offer them Seljanka soup with lamb and veal. They liked it.
Too bad this didn't become a tradition. They moved away after 5 months and we didn't stay in contact afterward.

Syrian here, there are some key details that you missed:
    1. The civil war actually started out as a revolution, that was inspired by the arab spring movement as well as rising tensions in syria. The revolution was a pretty united front (secular + religious) and the opposition was taking over city by city until the russian and irani intervention, which then lead to further fragmentation with the opposition
    2. Northwest syria is not under turkish rule directly rather its syrian opposition groups sponsored by turkey today mainly being HTS.
    3. (Personal opinion) syria will never heal from its scars and rebuild itself TRULY without assad being gone. Too much bad blood and the refugees will never come back

What you need to know never call for the departure of Assad lest you be cursed. Ask many Western politicians as well as Arab leaders how they fared. Can't Mossad the Assad. Assad must stay! Of course, Syria is a multi-ethnic country and the reason for its survival is a strong authoritarian regime (not democracy) and good management of the economy. Singapore only succeeds because it supports the West, while Syria does not. Big difference. Definitely a great video.

Assad killed 1400 of his own people with chemical weapons and helped start the civil war to maintain power. Assad released terrorists so he could claim all of the insurrectionists were terrorists. All this can't mossad the assad stuff is jingoist propaganda,it is meaningless, just like when America talks about how big its military is. Everything is incredibly accurate except for one missing idea.
During the 2011 war, it wasn't only Syria that was affected, a part of lebanon (as mentioned in the video) and a part of the capital of lebanon (that wasn't mentioned) was involve in a small terrifying war.
Some of these Syrian "Freedoms fighter" were motivated to kill Shiist people as much as possible for whatever the cost. The group called Isis began to send groups of people to Shiist location in order to Bomb themselves and kill as much as possible of Shiist people. The target wasn't political or any political group, the target was the Shiist people, womens, childs, civilians, fighters, it doesn't matter, killing a Shiist meant for them going directly to paradise after the suicide attack.
And that's what pushed a group of lebanese people (in the name of iran of course for political reasons) to declare war on isis.
I won't deny there were civilian that were affected by this war for sure, but it was a necessity since the suicide attacks were out of control in Lebanon.

Besides, there is already an existing substratum for hatred & past incidences of violence occurring between Hindus coming from different cultural backgrounds due to nativist sentiments. Besides, having a same religion & culture doesn't necessarily guarantees that the country will remain united.
