Barkha and Chitrang, you are brave people! All my life, I've sought out and bought books from second-hand stores. Most of my book collection was built like that. And I used to watch in dismay as bookstore after bookstore went out of business. Bookstores, for me, are the mark of a civilized society. Films and OTT can never replace the magic of books. Thank you for opening a bookstore. You are helping spread the love of reading among new readers, and that is noble work indeed. Will meet you guys the next time I'm in Goa. Love from Gurgaon...

Life took us in different directions and we fell out of touch but I can't tell you how happy it makes me watching her speak about her passion -- this is the Barkha I knew back then. I have had an intriguing relationship with used books - back in my schooldays, school fee in govt school was 15 Rs. only. But it was paid every three months… and we were three siblings. My Dad was in a daily wage job and the month when school fee was due would break his budget. So I never dared ask for new books… had to beg neighbour’s kid (Ashwani) the whole year so his parents don’t sell his books after he passes his class and lend them to me… thanks to those used books and generosity of those almost-strangers that I am here today writing this from the Down Under.
I remember one day Ashwani was scribbling something on his book and I stopped him. I always hated the fact that I had to read from books where he would scribble, underline or sometimes just draw silly things… his mother sitting across on a cane furniture gave me a look that froze me… I could not describe her look then but many years later when I came across the English saying : Beggars Cant be Choosers! Ek bulb sa jala dimaag mein aur samajh mein aaya ki Ashwani ki “Mummee” ne mujhe us din kya kaha tha aankhon hi aankhon mein…

Robbie, l just stumbled on your channel today and yahin thahar gaya. Ek ek karke sab videos dekh raha hoon. Lage raho, mast raho, swasth raho. Next time I am in India, will visit Goa and definitely try to meet you.
