    What are the other instructions that should be given to the patient and mother before dismissing?
    Like what should the patient avoid for 90 mins before rinsing?

    Doctor, interproximal areas are untouched!!

      It has an applicator brush which has superfine bristles so interproximal coating is adequately done If done appropriately

    Sorry ask for reinsing about what??I mean 90 min???

    • @AtoZKidsdental
      @AtoZKidsdental  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes Dr
      Ask your patients to rinse mouth with water after 90 minutes and then eat their regular diets
      As fluoride varnish needs one hour to 90 minutes for adsorption
      So in between patient should not eat or drink anything

    Can't adults get this done?

    • @AtoZKidsdental
      @AtoZKidsdental  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adults have more mineralised enamel and is usually not done but it’s not a rule 1 application a year can be done

      @@AtoZKidsdental I'm in my 20s and my dentist advised me to get it done since i have fillings in almost all my molars and premolars.
      But I'm afraid of getting flourosis and what if it gets absorbed through my gums??? It has a such a high flouride content (20,000ppm??) in it than a flouride gel which i could use everyday.

    • @AtoZKidsdental
      @AtoZKidsdental  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Kriti2024 yes then it means you have SEVERE CARIES RISK so you should get it done professionally
      Secondly the fluorosis happens when there is excessive intake/uptake of fluoride both systemic including leading beyond optimum(1ppm)
      However this varnish is only 0.2ppm
      Hope you got my point doctor

      @@AtoZKidsdental any chance one could accidentally ingest the varnish??
      I know we are supposed to rinse our mouth a few hours after application but some will still remain in our mouth won't it?

    • @AtoZKidsdental
      @AtoZKidsdental  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Kriti2024 yes Doctor
      As I mentioned the conc of fluoride is kept minimal and the viscosity of varnish is such that ingestion will scarcely happen and even it does then it’s minimal which is not relatively harmful
      Second thing what I would mention is always advice your patient to have milk diet more during the day of application as milk has great potential to absorb excess fluoride and so is also administered during fluoride toxicity
      Hope you got my point doctor
