Henderson is one of the nicest, safest, and best areas in the entire Las Vegas valley. Very low crime rates, upscale area, high end shopping and restaurants, minutes from the strip, great family place, lot of nice parks, schools, people are friendly, it's just my favorite area in Vegas, I like it even more then Summerlin.
Considering a move to Henderson from Phoenix,AZ. The weather obviously is no issue. I've visited Vegas & Henderson for years and think its time to move somewhere cheaper with a lot more activities.
+JacobslifeinVegas True, Phoenix has the Casinos and everything else Vegas has to offer. However, it's not a 24 hr city and cost of living is a bit cheaper. No Sales/Property taxes..
I went on vacation and stayed at Circus Circus back in 2008 and i loved it. I want to move out there within 2 more years and i wanted either Henderson or Summerlin. Thanks for the information on the Henderson area because my concern was safe, low crime areas. I will make a move soon, .
We are actually looking to relocate there this summer! With all the research I've done it looks like an amazing place to live! We are coming from Austin, TX.
+SugarRushToys Glad to hear it! Southern Nevada is great place to live. I have no regrets about leaving California to come to the Vegas area. I'm very happy here
My name is david. I am relocating out of CA and have arrived in town as of last evening. I am not sure where I will live, or if I move on. All I know is that Henderson has grown a lot since the 70's80's. I am not sure how tolerant the place is with peoples of all faths, orientations and etc . It is a very CLEAN place ! I put your video onto twitter !
SVO I would have to say the crime as any human being only takes 30 days to adapt to a new climate. Then again if you live in or around Las Vegas your more than likely going to own a handgun for protection as well as for gun range shooting which is hugely popular in NV.
Crime is much lower in Henderson than LV ( especially in the newer parts of town such as Anthem , Seven Hills, Green Valley Ranch etc.) , it's almost like a completely different town. Also remember we have over 2 million people in the LV metropolitan area with up to hundreds of thousands of tourists on some weekends.
Thanks for the insight and video posts about Vegas man, appreciate it.. I work in Bartending and Catering here in the Bay Area, but I'm not trying to pay these astronomical prices for rent..Smh!! Going to visit Vegas next month. Cheers!
+gametight79 You're welcome. I know about the brutal cost of living in the bay. You can make a very good living out here as a bartender, whether on or off the strip. It won't be immediate because it will take some time to get in, and then take more time to get a really good position. The opportunities are there though.
Brother J, still digging your wealth of information of Nevada, I loving Henderson, I'm thinking of Seven Hill, Summerlin and my choice of areas to live, I want to rent before I buy anything. I own my home in Washington DC free and clear so I can have the best of both worlds. You have some of the best videos. I did subscribe to your channel. What more can you tell about living there that perhaps you may have forgot, I will be bringing my car but I like to know hows the public transportation, how often it runs and is the public transportation 24/7 as well. So I like to see you do a video on the public transportation system, get on the bus take us for a ride
Hey Jacob, I'm considering moving to Las Vegas after my studies in the Netherlands (yes I'm Dutch). But I have a few questions, what are your opinions on Summerlin North in Las Vegas? Is it a good neighborhood? What neighborhood should I go for? Or should I just go for Henderson?
I'm a young girl, and I have had a dream to move to Las Vegas and live my life there... Do you think it would be a good place to start? and anymore infomation about Henderson?
Me my Husband and children are relocating to Henderson sometime next year. We are really excited but will not know anyone. Where would he a good place to meet new adult friends?
hi me and my family are moving to vegas the beginning of next year looking to move to henderson what are some nice affordable apartments and good schools or is it better to get a house thanks so much for your info you are a great help
mediaboyz I live on the south side really nice and chill love just a little to close to the mountains because I have seen some coyotes walk down my street
One of my daughters and I are thinking of moving to Henderson, NV or somewhere close by, from Minneapolis, MN. My daughter is a bartender here in Mpls, making good tips, supporting herself She wants to stay working in bartending/hospitality and doesn't think she'll have a problem getting a job. She lived in Vegas before and did the same thing. Our rent rates are high in Mpls. We want to live together in hopefully either a rental home or a rent-to-own home. From everything I've read about Henderson, and I was in Vegas in Jan. 2018 and loved it, this seems like it would be a good move for the both of us. Our winter this year, with the Polar Vortex and all the snow, is just too much to want to deal with anymore. Is the cost of living reasonable for the wages/tips and is the housing good in Henderson? Good as in reasonable, clean, safe? Thanks for answering.
I live in Atlanta right now. I work outdoors as a grounds keeper at a apartment complex. What's it like working outdoors? How early do people start to work outdoors considering the dry heat in the spring and summer time. Do Vegas has several heat advisories in which it is so got that people have to stop working outdoors at a certain time of the day ? Please explain in detail.
+JacobslifeinVegas How is Vegas Jacob. I have asked you questions about Las Vegas as far as the apartment maintenance industry and working outdoors. I guess you don't know the answers to my questionso because you work in a different industry and you work indoors. Can you please address my questions please. Thank you.
How about Cadence master plan communities at Henderson? What do you think about it? Another one is Providence Master Plan communities towards the north?
I may move there if I decide to leave Chicago. By the way, conservative is a good thing, so those who bash henderson because of conservative values say more about you than the town itself.
Jacob Aloha from Honolulu Hawaii! I found you on You tube and my hubby and i are reálly considering relocating to Vegas. We have family in the North near Cheyenne. My husband will be retiring ať 62 this October! His question is on medical insurance in LV? In Hawaii it is easy to get healthcare assistance. What about Vegas? He is Diabetic and has asthma. How is the medical assistance there? And is the dessert weather healthy for ashtma people? Over here many have respiratory problems because of tropical weather and Vog from Big Islands active Volcano. We also need to know on average how much electricity is to run in a 2 bdrm apartment in the summer and winter? Cost of living here is super expensive! We will not be able to live on his retirement! Many Hawaii people are moving there, Las Vegas is being called the 9th island to Hawaii. Sorry for so many question, but i am so glad i found your Videos! Any answers? Please lmk asap!
Do y'all think my Great Pyrenees will be okay living there in the heat? She's an inside dog but I don't want her to be miserable when she's on walks, etc.
I noticed some bike lines in the henderson roads leading to the condos it seems bike friendly too low gradients are nice and I guess you can bike to the river/lake. How is it for motorcycles there as long as they're not loud are the HOAs cool with them?
***** There are some pretty nice bike trails in the area. I've seen quite a few motorcycles here in town. I'm not sure about how the HOAs feel about them though
How's the job market there? Just curious since I may move there 2 to 3 years from now. I know it's hot there like always but I hope there are some cloudy days there.
I woke up next to a woman I was drinking all night with at the Belagio last week. I asked where I was she said, Henderson baby, Henderson. Ahh Henderson
I'm not sure but I don't doubt it one bit. With the population continuing to grow out there they will need more medical facilities to handle the growth
JacobslifeinVegas It's going to be a VA hospital that is going to be recruiting the majority of their staff from the new UNLV medical research facility that is planned for development in the next 2-3 years from now. I wouldn't doubt with where the income is going to be coming from going forward that another new hospital would be built as well.
Thx Jacob Nice info and vid. You answered my question regarding lowest crime, and family communities. I'm pretty convinced that Henderson would suit me best over Palm Springs Ca, although the population of Palm Springs I liked most (50,000). Stephanie P.S Which cities in NV have the lowest population?
+Stephanie Connelly You're welcome! The lowest population is going to be somewhere in Nowehere, NEVADA in the middle of the desert. Nevada has about 3 million people and around 2 million live in the Vegas area. The next biggest area is the Reno-Sparks area up North. Outside of those two the rest of the state is pretty empty and VERY sparsely populated.
You might want to look into Boulder City, neat little small town in the hills right by the Dam and Lake Mead, 30 minutes from Vegas about 20 from Henderson.
What should I expect my auto insurance to be in Henderson, full coverage on my AMG SLK 55 and my Triumph motorcycle, probably in the ball park figure of what it is in Sarasota, Fl.
I know Henderson is sort of its own city, but If I move there, will I still be considered a Las Vegan? I know its not a big deal, but I really would love to have that title.
I think you could get away with it. You will still be living in the Las Vegas metro area, plus hardly anyone living outside here will know the difference lol
JacobslifeinVegas Good enough. It's really a case of semantics. I guess if I'm a Las Vegan at heart that's all that matters. They say the strip itself technically isnt in Las Vegas either so who knows. Anyway, I digress. Look forward to your upcoming vids bro. Be well. =)
Johnny Klebitz You're right. I'll do a video about that later on how much of what people think is las vegas actually is not. Much of the strip is in Paradise Nevada
What's the apartment maintenance industry like in Las Vegas? Are there plenty of jobs as a grounds keeper and apartment maintenance technicians? ? What's the starting salary for a grounds keeper there? ?
I am Black American. I grew up in Atlanta. The temperature here gets to about mid 90's to the high 90's . In Atlanta we have a lot of humidity. It does rain frequently here. In the summer time the sun rises at 6:30 am and sets at about 8:50 pm. A groundskeeper position pays about $10 an hour to maybe $12 an hour. I wanted Jacob to answer the questions I had asked. I guess he doesn't know the answer.

Checking the Vegas weather. Not sure what is worse the crime or the heat in LAS

I live in West Henderson and its the best and better than Summerlin IMO

Jacob is Henderson full of young people like kids or more adults?
I want to move to LV from NYC because NYC taxes me 7k a year those crooks and we have no rights here. Is Henderson and SUmmerlin the nicest areas?
I know the feeling. Henderson and Summerlin are very popular areas that are nice, but the "nicest area" of the Vegas Valley is very debatable.

Good point. Boulder City truly is a small town that is a nice little escape to venture out to every so often
With Las Vegas being so close, is bringing entertainment a good idea?
Hi JacobslifeinVegas do you have a web link to where you got all your info for Henderson?
Henderson city website has pretty good info and a history section. I'd read about the safety aspect before i moved here
What should I expect my auto insurance to be in Henderson, full coverage on my AMG SLK 55 and my Triumph motorcycle, probably in the ball park figure of what it is in Sarasota, Fl.
I have no idea really. I'm sure you could get some type odd estimation searching Google
