Bible Art Journaling New Video! How to Draw Flowering Vines and Dandelions. Part 6 of the ongoing video series based on the Psalm 98-100 illustration in my Crossway ESV Single Column Journaling Bible.
I love it love it. My Bible is extremely important to me and I don't want to have the text covered. My husband died 5 months ago and a week before he died this artist Bible came that he had bought for me. My other Bible was over 50 years old and very unreadable. So I love this technique and I'm glad that I found your site. Thank you and God bless you
Claudia Nutgrass Thank you so much , Claudia. I am sorry for the loss of your husband and am glad your Bible is a special gift from him. God bless you. Praying for you.
Beautiful artwork. This is the first video I have watched on your channel. You are so talented and explained the process so well, I am looking forward to trying it. Thank you!
Hi Linda. Colored pencils work great right on the bible page. Nothing else needed. blender fluids like Gamsol or Mona Lisa Odorless Mineral Spirits also work great with co!order pencils right on the bibke pages. it looks wet at first when blending but it evaporates quickly and it doesn't wrinkle the page. Just use something firm under the page I use a flexible piece of plastic from some packaging, so the pressure of the pencils doesn't indent the pages underneath and it gives you a better surface to color the page on. hope this helps!
it is a Copic Multiliner SP pen, size 0.05. The SP line is a refillable pen and more expensive, but there are also Copic Multiliner disposable pens that are less expensive. I get mine from Jetpens.com
generally, no, these don't bleed through the page because they are pigment ink. However, any pen will bleed through if it is inked heavy enough in the same spot. They do shadow though, just as the text shadows through the pages, because the pages are so thin. Hope this helps!
What if when you get up to heaven and you are standing in line waiting to get in, and St. Peter goes "yeah Michelle.... I saw what you did to my boss' book, and I'm pretty sure he is pissed off about it- between you and me, I think it's awesome, but the big guy..... NNnnnot so much" then he sneaks you in anyway haha
My salvation is not based on St. Peter, it is based on my personal relationship with the loving Jesus Christ, who died in my place. I am now a child of the most holy, loving God who delights in His children. No where have I ever read in the bible that God would be mad at me and I would lose my salvation because I use the artistic gift God blessed me with as a form of worship in my bible. Do you really believe something like this can cause me to lose my salvation? I mean, really? That is a man made religious belief that is not biblical. BTW, do an internet search and look up Illuminated bibles or illustrated bibles. These were very historically important in getting God's holy teaching to people who were illiterate, have language barriers, etc. Why do we have illustrated bibles for kids but its different for adults? If its not right for you that's fine, you won't lose your salvation over it. But judging someone's salvation over something like this is not within a human's ability, only God can decide that. Thank God that humans aren't God! May God bless you and keep you.
+Michelle Hotchkiss Tommy, who do you think gave Michelle her artistic talent? God did, of course. Personally, I think He takes great pride and enjoyment in our demonstrations of worship - whether it be through song, dance, instrumentation and/or art! And Michelle is correct - "St. Peter" is not the judge. God is the judge; and our entrance into heaven is based on whether or not we have a personal relationship with Him - not on our works. Sadly, it seems that you've obtained some legalistic views about who God is. The Bible is God's message to us - timely and without error. The pages that contain His message to us is nothing more than paper and binding. The Words and the message is what is holy - not the paper on which it is written. She's simply illustrating some of her favorite scripture verses - she's not defacing the book - and I believe God sees it as an expression of her love for Him.
Beautiful and thank you for using your God given talent and time to be a blessing to viewers like me.

can you draw like this or use color pencils directly onto the bible or do you have to cover the pages with something first?

Wooooow I was joking. You good ma'am, take yourself way too seriously.
+Tommy Ohlrich When it comes to my relationship with Jesus Christ, yes sir, you are correct. I take that very seriously.
