Been guitarist for 5 years and I learned about electric guitar solos and guitar techniques like legato, slides, tapping, but I never knew how to shred. Now I'm 21 I started to learn sweep and alternative pickings, and especially SHRED tapping. I know I'm not the only here who wants to shred, so all I can say is let's all grind everyday and work hard to become a great shred guitarist.

Oct 16th 100 bpm attempts @ 110 several times then backed it down to 100 Oct 18th 110 I worked at 120 I seem to get caught up on that little half slide down from 12th 11th fret, I will have this by the end of the week.
Before this i honestly thought i cant do tapping on my cheap guitar, but if you can do it on acoustic I'm sure my electric guitar can do it too. Thank you for commenting this it gives me courage to try it out

October 14: 60 BPM had a really hard time learning these licks October 15: 80 BPM ok so I've grown fond of the riff after having practiced it yesterday October 16: 100 BPM I enjoy playing it I kinda do it subconsciously October 17: 110 BPM Wow I'm really surprised how fast this is progressing... half a week ago I was struggling to play the warm up and now I almost reach the highest level possible in this video. If somebody is reading this, grab your guitar NOW and do it, it will blow your mind how fast you will progress if you stick to it! October 18: didnt do it had no time October 19: 120 BPM Workout finished! I only have a small problem with that two finger tapping at 120 BPM... Definitely gonna work on that!

Day 1: 80 bpm Tomorrow will be easier now I'm not really used to the lick Day 2: 100bpm I learned the pattern with some harder string skipping by mistake so I re learned and it's easier lol Day 3: 110bpm I got nice runs but tomorrow I'll try to get cleaner or perfect in big part of my runs Day 4: 120bpm I got excited and got 6 perfect runs in a row with 120bpm, this tapping is pretty easy for 'intermediate' players lol. I recommend to you all learn math rock and midwest riff tappings, consistent double tapping and quick bursts are pretty mandatory for intermediate players.

So I slowly, veeeeery slowly went through and learned the exercise and practiced it slowly, and it worked and I’m at 40 now, buts still, a ways to go

“Mr” Bernth - how important is the distortion effect in this kind of technique? (Almost) all of the players I have seen use plenty of distortion (and/or other effects) when tapping (including this video lesson!), and I find that without effects, the sound/presence of the taps is much less noticeable. Could be just me. Wondering if you have any thoughts or advice on this.

Just started today October 29th 2024 problem I'm having is the 1010 with the strumming hand tap.. can't get it clean yet. I play upsidedown (not sure if that matters) but every time I pull of to descend I brush the other strings with my finger.. I'm wondering if this is why you are using ring and Middle instead of middle and index
What holds the guitar in place while tapping? If your hands need to move like that, I don’t understand how to support the weight of the guitar. Great lesson other than that. Thanks!
goddamit, fuck this, it's like I have to have every part memorized, I just don't have the answer yet how to master this. Maybe I just don't like it somewhere internally, but, no I do. Keep trying. Mar. 6, 2024 still getting hung up on 50 bpm. Different fingers hammer on in spots from before weeks, so there is that evolution.
