Just passed my DP-203 right now with a score of 917, I want to thank you for all the effort in making this video series and reiterate that it was a MASSIVE help, a lot of the questions were the same or very similar. This is how I prepared, during 3 months: - Read all the Microsoft Learning path for DP-203 - Watched all this video series while taking notes of what I considered important and my mistakes - Did about 100 questions from DP-203 in ExamTopics (would do more if I had the time) Good luck for you all!!

I have passed my exam with a score 770 uff :) week ago ... to be honest before the exam I hadn't completed the whole course here (only 2/3). During the exam I regreted and realized how this course is usefull. After the exam I decided to completed this course fully - today is DONE :). Strongly recommed use cases part becasue it helps to match all dots together and understand how to transfer business and technical requirements into real solution. Thank a lot for this course.
Passed DP203 - Great work @theTechBlackBoard - About 50% questions including the case study appeared in the exam. To the DP203 aspirants - Please research each question even if the answer is correct and add logic to each question. Good Luck and Thanks again!!
Today I have passed the DP-203 exam. Your video and the tips are very helpful in the exam preparation. Appreciate your time and efforts on making such a great resource for Azure Associate exam. Really cool . Kudos 👍🙏
Q85 - The answer would be "C" (not "B"). When executing the statement that switches partitions, you're pushing a partition from a source, to a destination, overwriting. Therefore, the source is stg.Sales and the destination is dbo.Sales.
The correct option to overwrite the content of the first partition in dbo.Sales with the content of the same partition in stg.Sales while minimizing load times is: C. Switch the first partition from stg.Sales to dbo.Sales. To do this, you can use the following T-SQL code: sql Copy code ALTER TABLE dbo.Sales SWITCH PARTITION 1 TO stg.Sales PARTITION 1; ALTER TABLE stg.Sales SWITCH PARTITION 1 TO dbo.Sales PARTITION 1; The SWITCH PARTITION command swaps the data of two table partitions quickly and efficiently without physically moving the data on disk. By using the SWITCH PARTITION command with two tables that have the same schema and partitioning scheme, you can overwrite the content of the first partition in dbo.Sales with the content of the same partition in stg.Sales. Option A (Insert the data from stg.Sales into dbo.Sales) and Option D (Update dbo.Sales from stg.Sales) would result in the need to transfer all the data from stg.Sales into dbo.Sales, which can be time-consuming and inefficient, especially if the table size is large. Option B (Switch the first partition from dbo.Sales to stg.Sales) would move the data in the first partition of dbo.Sales to stg.Sales, effectively deleting it from dbo.Sales, which is not what is required.
I passed my DP 203 just now. I am writing this comment from my exam hall XD I only had around 35% QS from this series. I went through all 216 QS and 3 case study. However, understanding logic behind picking the answer made me pass this. Case study QS were quite similar NOT same. I thank you sir for your help.

It is a cost-effective option compared to other options like GZRS (Geo-zone-redundant storage) which replicates data across three regions or availability zones
Thank you very much Vipin Sir. I passed DP-203 yesterday and really very thankful for your great effort . more that 50% question from this playlist and your hard effort also helped me in other question. 👍👍
Q71 - the answer should be a pipeline . In Azure Data Factory (ADF), a pipeline is used to orchestrate and manage data transformation and movement. A pipeline is a logical grouping of activities that together perform a task. For example, a pipeline could contain a set of activities that ingest and clean log data, and then kick off a mapping data flow to analyze the log data. A linked service is similar to a connection string, which defines the connection information needed for ADF to connect to external resources
Q142 - For Type 2 SCD tables you use a Surrogate Key, not a Business Key. While that's something I just know, you can confirm if you reread the third sentence of the first paragraph on the Microsoft documentation for Type 2 SCD tables.

Q59 - If you use a hopping window, you'll be re-processing events and reporting out-of-area trucks multiple times. It should be a tumbling window set to 30 seconds. That the files are delivered every minute is a red herring. Having to report trucks as being out-of-area within 30 seconds is the key.

Hi bro ...I'm an absolute newbie to azure or cloud ...Can I crack this exam by just preparing through udemy and youtube ? Or should i have experience to do this
@@SK-qm5py Hi, I know you said you're a newbie, but I think the fundamentals exams give a good foundation if you don't have hands-on experience. Hope that helps. On average, for me, I spent 7 hours to 10 days reading before each exam.
Hello! Q106 - In my opinion the given answer is wrong, because the question is telling us to minimize the LOAD time of a staging table, not to query it. Besides that, the question said tha data will be truncated every day (So, why indexes?). That Said, i think you should use Round Robin Distribution, with no indexes (HEAP) and no partitions (none). This configuration will provide much faster times to LOAD the data into a staging table. Staging tables are not meant to be queried.
30) a) Data analytics platform 60) c) Azure 100) c) from synapse studio, select the workspace. From monitor, select Apache Spark applications. 131) b) cluster event logs 173) c) an IDENTITY column 216) e) infer_storage_schema
Thanks a lot for this useful series! I have cleared my DP-203 exam this week and this video played an important role to help me clear my exam. I got around 30-40% of similar questions from here including the case study ones.
Q3 - CREATE EXTERNAL TABLE AS SELECT (CETAS) writes the results of a query the external table (file). Therefore CETAS is for exporting data not importing. I would advise CREATE EXTERNAL TABLE for the third item.
Q53, for me answer is A - Partition by DateTime fields. Partition by DateTime fields: Partitioning the table by DateTime fields allows for efficient data organization. This means that when querying or processing data, only the relevant partitions (e.g., based on the date range) need to be read, reducing the amount of data scanned and improving performance. It also helps in managing incremental loads since you can easily process new data for a specific date or range of dates without touching the entire dataset.
Passed the exam with 914, I recommend to watch the singular videos from the playlist and checkout the comments as they point out numerous mistakes in the answers. Either way it's great exam dump with over 50% overlap. When going through examtopics 100 free questions I also recommend to take the answers with a grain of salt as either the selected answers or the most popular comments are plainly wrong. I recommend to first do a proper course with some hands on experience in the azure portal/data studio and then check each question in the microsoft documentation. Also don't follow chatgpt answers as they are wrong about azure in many cases.
finally, I scored 859 and your practice questions are very helpful, total 47 question included 5 case studies and i can say only 5-7 questions were new, all other questions are from your dumps but not exactly same question.
This video has good amount of questions but have overall knowledge too from any other learning path to secure your place 100% I will suggest to go through MS learning path too

Q 174. You are implementing a batch dataset in the Parquet format. Data files will be produced be using Azure Data Factory and stored in Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2. The files will be consumed by an Azure Synapse Analytics serverless SQL pool. You need to minimize storage costs for the solution. What should you do? a) Use Snappy compression for the files. -- Correct b) Use OPENROWSET to query the Parquet files. c) Create an external table that contains a subset of columns from the Parquet files. d) Store all data as string in the Parquet files.

Q47, The difference between GRS and RA GRS is fairly simple, GRS only allows to be read in the secondary zone in the event of a failover from the primary to secondary while RA GRS allows the option to read in the secondary whenever. In the question they state "...available for read workloads in a secondary region IF AN OUTAGE OCCURES in the primary...". Well, answer B (RA-GRS) states in Microsoft documentation that RA-GRS is for when "...your data is available to be read AT ALL TIMES, including in a situation where the primary region becomes unavailable." To me, the nature of the question is what is the cheapest solution which allows for failover to read workload, when there is an outage. Hence, I think the answer is A.

Q106: Round Robin, Heap and None are correct Reason: it's a STAGING TABLE => RoundRobin will speed up loading -- HEAP is faster on INSERT than CL or CCI -- Partitioning isn't needed on a STAGING-Table Your answers assumes that the table is a fact table. This isn't stated in the question. You speaking of increasing query performance, which isn't a requirement in this question
Agree, i think partitions would help in loading the fact table (switching partitions for example), but that's not the question. Since its only regrading loading the STG table, partitions would slow down the write, i belive.

sir the answer to question 46 should be c. ZRS replicates the data to a different availability zone within the same data center. So if a data center goes down then ZRS will not be useful. So our options are GRS and GZRS of which GRS is the one with minimum cost
Q211 I believe both answers are wrong. The questions states you want to create 4 partitions. In order to create 4 partition you need to provide 3 values. The first partition will be values smaller or smaller equal, depending on RANGE value, than the smallest provided value and the last partition will be values bigger equal or bigger, depending on RANGE value, than the largest provided value. LEFT will include the value on the upper bound and RIGHT will include the value on the lower bound. The partitions needed here are OrderDateKey < 20100101, 20100101

Strongly recommed use cases part becasue it helps to match all dots together and understand how to transfer business and technical requirements into real solution.
Thank a lot for this course.

Today I have passed the DP-203 exam. Your video and the tips are very helpful in the exam preparation. Appreciate your time and efforts on making such a great resource for Azure Associate exam. Really cool . Kudos 👍🙏
Just cleared DP-203. This series is highly recommended. Extremely helpful.
Congratulations, please did you get any questions from this video?
Q85 - The answer would be "C" (not "B"). When executing the statement that switches partitions, you're pushing a partition from a source, to a destination, overwriting. Therefore, the source is stg.Sales and the destination is dbo.Sales.
The correct option to overwrite the content of the first partition in dbo.Sales with the content of the same partition in stg.Sales while minimizing load times is:
C. Switch the first partition from stg.Sales to dbo.Sales.
To do this, you can use the following T-SQL code:
sql
Copy code
ALTER TABLE dbo.Sales SWITCH PARTITION 1 TO stg.Sales PARTITION 1;
ALTER TABLE stg.Sales SWITCH PARTITION 1 TO dbo.Sales PARTITION 1;
The SWITCH PARTITION command swaps the data of two table partitions quickly and efficiently without physically moving the data on disk.
Yes answer should be C
Totally agree, this is the second time I see this question responded to like this. I was starting to doubt myself
I’m just on that question and I was arguing it out

47: is a) GRS
GRS (Geo-Redundant Storage) replicates data across two regions, typically hundreds of miles apart, which provides a high level of durability and read access in case of an outage in the primary region. It is a cost-effective option compared to other options like GZRS (Geo-zone-redundant storage) which replicates data across three regions or availability zones

I agree with this assessment, round robin makes the most sense and heap with no partition should follow

Q3 - CREATE EXTERNAL TABLE AS SELECT (CETAS) writes the results of a query the external table (file). Therefore CETAS is for exporting data not importing. I would advise CREATE EXTERNAL TABLE for the third item.
Agree
Q53, for me answer is A - Partition by DateTime fields. Partition by DateTime fields: Partitioning the table by DateTime fields allows for efficient data organization. This means that when querying or processing data, only the relevant partitions (e.g., based on the date range) need to be read, reducing the amount of data scanned and improving performance. It also helps in managing incremental loads since you can easily process new data for a specific date or range of dates without touching the entire dataset.
Thanks!
Enjoy your PDF file.

Sir, you have done a amazing job in these videos. Keep up the good work.
Well, answer B (RA-GRS) states in Microsoft documentation that RA-GRS is for when "...your data is available to be read AT ALL TIMES, including in a situation where the primary region becomes unavailable."
To me, the nature of the question is what is the cheapest solution which allows for failover to read workload, when there is an outage. Hence, I think the answer is A.

Q106: Round Robin, Heap and None are correct
Reason: it's a STAGING TABLE => RoundRobin will speed up loading -- HEAP is faster on INSERT than CL or CCI -- Partitioning isn't needed on a STAGING-Table
Your answers assumes that the table is a fact table. This isn't stated in the question. You speaking of increasing query performance, which isn't a requirement in this question
Agree, i think partitions would help in loading the fact table (switching partitions for example), but that's not the question. Since its only regrading loading the STG table, partitions would slow down the write, i belive.

Open book doesn't mean that you will get the answers directly. It will just help you to make a more informed guess from the options IMO.
All the best
@@AeBhindi thank you for the help
@TheTechBlackBoard this is really useful before taking the exam. Appreciate your efforts in preparing this. I have passed my exam today.

sir the answer to question 46 should be c.

Hi everyone, 90% of questions are from this video. Memorize them all and should be good. There were 3 new questions not in this video series. I would say read a little theory to make sure you dont get stuck.
Great work @Manny Kha, Keep up the learning.
